Chaper 48: The Proposal

Golden light trickles on the sea. The air is light and crisp. A gentle breeze plays above the waves. The rippling tide greets lost feet. The young Daemik stands still while observing the serene shore. 

<div>"Beautiful." Kiora smiles. "I feel... Free."</div>

<div>She touches the water. The current runs at an ideal temperature. 'The mer has a strong energy.' She notices. In the years of late, her spirit has been bereft. Yet, the sea brings a sense of awareness and unity.</div>

<div>"Is this home?" Kiora wonders.</div>

<div>Silent footsteps approach from behind. She turns around to the alarming presence. Her jaw drops at the sight of the perceived stranger. A being without skin. Crimson muscles and sinew are clothed in a gold robe. Amber eyes lock onto Kiora's own. 'Worry.' She observes. The entity places a hand over his heart.</div>

<div>"Unfortunately, now's not the time." He replies. </div>

<div>"Who are you?" Kiora inquires.</div>
