3rd Person POV:

If you were a routine guy, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between Ushijima's 'different' expressions. You'd just assume he wasn't making any face, only because he was so stoic; he rarely shows any sign of emotion, and when he does, you'd only see it if you were important to him. If you were ordinary, you wouldn't be able to.

If you were Satori Tendou, however, that would be a whole other story.

The certain red-headed fellow was eyeing Ushijima in the weirdest way. He circled the olive-haired man, squinting and moving his skull as the group of three walked. Tendou hummed to himself before taking on his first sentence since they left the wretched building.

"I've decided," he said, hands behind his back and his chin up.

"Decided what?" Semi asked, his eyes still locked on the path in front of them.

"That the one and only, Miracle Boy, Wakatoshi Ushijima, an aloof man, is now sad." Semi turned his skull only to meet Tendou with a confused expression. "I know! It was very unusual for me too!" Tendou said, agreeing with Semi's accurate reaction.

Ushijima knitted his eyebrows in confusion, thinking about what his crazed companion was speaking about. He himself didn't understand his feelings. It was quite unnerving.

"What are you talking about? I'm great, I'm okay, I'm-" But before the tall man could finish, his shorter partner spoke up once again.

"You are not fine! Don't even think of saying it!" He held both of his hands in front of Ushijima's chest, putting the three of them to a halt in their steps. "What's the problem, huh? Felt bad for killing that blondie? Because if that's it, well, that's kinda weird seeing as it's you. But you know what; Wakatoshi, it happens to the best of us. I mean, do you remember my first kill?! Terrible—I ended up getting blood everywhere! But—"

"No, not that. I didn't feel, in the slightest bad for Terushima. ("Was that his name?" Tendou sought). In fact, I think he deserved what he got. However, the thing troubling me... is my angel."

"Angel...?" Semi trailed off, trying to remember where he'd heard that nickname before. "Oh! That's your girlfriend, isn't it?" The white-haired man inquired. Ushijima nodded and sighed in response.

"Well, go on; tell us what's wrong then!" Tendou ushered, waving his hand in front of the sad male.

"I think she's angry with me..." it riddled the young fellow with guilt, and he couldn't bear to think of how frustrated or disappointed (Y/n) was in him. His heart was sinking more and more by the minute, and it didn't even need to hit an iceberg for it to vanish. She meant the world to him; so if he was the reason she was in a foul mood, of course it made him feel terrible!

Semi and Tendou both shared a look of blank expressions stitched onto their faces. Ushijima took notice of this and questioned it immediately.

"What? What is it?" He said, his voice still laced with the sorrow he felt—still felt—earlier.

"That's all? Seriously?" They both asked.

"Yes." The outsider answered.

"Well, in that case," Tendou started, waving away Semi's vacant manner. "I can help you there." He slung an arm around Ushijima's shoulder and bumped his hips into the other man's ribs.

The taller individual created the closest thing to an uneasy look, leaving it there to sit on his face. After all, Tendou didn't make himself known for his great deeds; or for helping people. However, being someone close to the man, Ushijima gave his friend a chance for some advice.

He was hesitant at first, but gave his reply. "Exactly what am I supposed to do?"

The red-head had his trademark smirk plastered right onto his lips, and as it always did, the corners of his lips never wavered once.

"You need to go home," he said, to which his boss looked baffled at, for probably the first time in his life too.

"Excuse me?" The tall olive-haired man questioned, genuinely confused about what his friend was implying.

"I mean what I said. Semisemi and I got this covered, you go home to (L/n)-san," he smiled as his words seeped out of his mouth. "Don't you trust me, Wakatoshi-kun?"

"If I'm being honest, no. Not all that much. I trust you with our business; not with my love life."

Tendou sarcastically put a hand to his heart, gasping dramatically, and acting as if Ushijima had just shot a bullet through his chest.

"Well geez, I'm just trying to help!" He faked yet another dramatic gasp, but then tensed his face; becoming serious for once. "But I'm not kidding—both you and (L/n)-san are people I consider very close friends. I want what's best for you two, and if it means sending you, my boss, home for the day, then I suggest you go. If she's angry at you, I think it best for you to work things out, or at least apologize."

Tendou took notice of both his own tone, and Semi's shocked face; most likely driven by his colleague's words. So he went back to his goofy and playful personality.

The red-headed man sighed and continued talking, "Heh, then again, if you'd like your 'little angel' to continue staying angry at you, then that's completely fine by-" But his boss soon cut his phrases short, interrupting his employee's speech.

"If that is best, then I shall turn in for the day." He crossed his arms across his chest, letting out a deep and held-in breath.

His faced went from doubtful to stern in a matter of seconds. "Semi, Tendou, get my people to clean the filth up. And you know where to put the money. If any problems show up, call me and only me. I don't want anyone knowing what our business is like. Understood?"

"Yes, boss," the pair said in synch.

"Good," and with that, Ushijima left the site without another word—feeling mixed emotions on whether his dear (Y/n) was going to be in a good mood, or the complete opposite.

Back At Their Home...

(Y/n) was sitting in their room, legs pulled up to her face, and scrolling through old pictures saved on her phone. They were so young... they're still young! Ever since Ushijima began fulfilling his 'twisted' part of his life, the two didn't have time for things like school.

Well, it's not as if they didn't have time for it, per se. More like Ushijima got too busy for it, and (Y/n) already knew everything. Between her abusive father, lack of human interaction, and fending for herself, there was nothing for her to do in her childhood home other than study. So she did just that. And by the time she reached middle school, she had learned just about everything there was to know until college equations.

Anyway, as the h/c girl was scrolling through her gallery, she came across a particular photo. The photo looked like they took it back when (Y/n) was around 10, and Ushijima 11. The taller boy had a tiny, yet visible, smile stuck on his face. He was wrapping his arms around (Y/n)'s shoulders, and her small hands in comparison were holding his wrists. Tendou was on the floor, sitting in front of the girl, and holding up two piece signs in the air, smiling with a big toothy grin.

The three of them were standing in front of the entrance to their old tree house, a place that made (Y/n) feel almost as safe and comfortable as Ushijima does.

Tears rolled down her cheeks, just like they did on the day they met.

The girl thought back to the time the three of them found that house stuck up all the way up in that weeping willow tree.

*Flashback*

"Guys, should we really be out here right now?" (Y/n) asked, feeling the nervousness creep slowly into her. Ushijima noted this and reached over to grab her hand. He slid his fingers to intertwine with hers and pulled the girl in closer.

What first felt like worry, soon turned into happiness. The two of them followed their friend, Tendou, deeper into the forest of the night.

"Are you okay?" The young Ushijima asked. "If you're uncomfortable, or scared, I can take you back."

(Y/n)'s heart skipped a beat, loving the way he cared so much for her.

"I-I'll be alright. I mean, you-you're here for me. Right?" The girl stammered, a small blush heating her cheeks. Thankfully, it was the middle of the night, so the pink flush wasn't able to shine through the thick darkness.

Ushijima grinned to himself and pulled (Y/n) in closer (if that was even possible). "Of course I'm here. I will always be here for you." He slipped a quick peck on her lips and backed his head away, looking at the tree on his right.

(Y/n) didn't have time to react, because Tendou called out to them. "Oi, lovebirds! Get over here, I found the place from yesterday!"

They jogged over to their red-headed friend and looked up, only to see a dim yet visible tree house sitting peacefully in the weeping willow tree. It was an odd place for the house to rest in, but somehow, it just magically fit.

"Oh guys, let's take a picture! I brought my phone on accident, but I want to remember this! I love the way the tree house looks, so come on!" Tendou perked up at the girl's words and ran over to the opening of the stump.

"Over here's good!" He shouted out, running over to the designated place.

(Y/n) set a timer on her phone, placed it on a branch of a nearby tree, and then got into a comfortable position.

"Ready...? 3, 2, 1..."

*CLICK*

And they took the picture.

*End of Flashback*

The young girl continued to cry, remembering the night of the picture like it was yesterday. It's not as if she regretted everything or anything that happened; she just missed it all. She missed the walks she'd take with Ushijima, the random kisses he'd plant on her lips, the movie nights they'd have every Tuesday—everything. Her sobs filled the room so much, she almost didn't hear the knocking on their bedroom door.

'What the heck? I thought Waka-kun allowed no one on this floor...' (Y/n) thought, stifling a few tears down her throat, and walking over to open the door.

"Yes? Who is-" But before she even got the chance to finish her sobbing sentence, she felt a pair of big, warm arms wrap right around her body? It didn't take her a long time to realize that the pair of arms belonged to her one and only, Wakatoshi Ushijima.

"I-I'm sorry. I am truly sorry, my angel. I didn't mean to push you away, I didn't mean to be inattentive towards you, I didn't mean to make you feel lonely, when, you're the only person who I deeply care for. You're the only person who makes me feel this way, the only person who loves me so, the only person who I love, you're the only one for me. And I'm sorry for going to work so often and not spending enough time with you. I'll- I promise I will make it up. Please, please forgive me, honey. I-" His words stopped with a pause, being that pause bowed down to a long, passionate, and affectionate kiss.

The kiss lasted for a few seconds before (Y/n) parted away from Ushijima's lips.

"I forgive you. I'll always forgive you, I can promise you that. But," The girl started, hugging her lover. "I can't promise I'll always understand what you're doing and why. I trust you completely, and I know you know that. But... I want to know what's so important to make you leave in such a hurry. Can you at least tell me that, please?"

Ushijima's heart just shattered and rebuilt itself all in one go. It devastated him to know that he himself was the reason (Y/n) felt so lonely and drifted, but it also gave him joy to understand that his angel wanted to take part in a bigger portion of his life.

"Of course I can tell you." He smiled his adorable smile and melted the girl's heart with it. "But sit down for this."

"Okay." She smiled back and guided the both of them towards their bed.

Ushijima told her all about his job, how he was the boss, all the thing's he's done, why he's done it, the reasons he's been out so late for so long—every detail. Once he caught her up with everything which happened so far, (Y/n) immediately pulled her boyfriend in for a hug. His eyes went wide at first, but he loosened up to her warm touch in no time.

"I'm... I'm the one who should be sorry." The young girl pulled away from the hug and looked Ushijima in the eyes. "I had no idea you were under so much pressure; if I'd knew sooner, I would've never—I'm so sorry Waka-kun!" (Y/n) trembled, regretting her now seemingly childish actions, and cried her heart out for him.

"It's alright, don't be sorry, my love. You had no idea, and you didn't know because of me. Really, when you think about it, it's my fault. Plus, I only didn't want to tell you because you're so perfect." It was (Y/n)'s turn to widen her eyes. "When you're being you, you can somehow make yourself oh so pure, untainted, and beautiful. I love you so much because of that. I love you. Which is why I didn't want to tell you this stuff; I didn't want to up hurting you. But I am glad that you aren't angry at me, honey."

She smiled lightly and began talking. "I could never be angry at you. Or at least, not for too long."

They closed the gap of what they left of the space between them and kissed each other once again.

"I love you, Wakatoshi Ushijima."

"And I love you, my sweet little angel."

The two spent the rest of the night together, cooking their dinner in a comfortable and cute silence, eating peacefully, and then cuddling in bed until they fell asleep.
