Chapter ELEVEN: REVENGE OR FORGIVE

 Revenge or forgiveness?

HAZEL's POV.

The door to the hut was kicked open, and at its entrance stood a dark figure, dressed in a dark cloak and her face obscured by the shadows.

"Shadow Queen." I mumbled under my breath, I have read about her, but why was she at my doorstep?

"Who are you? I asked the dark figure in front of me.

"Oh little human, do you intend to say you do not know me?" The dark figure answered, her voice low and dangerous.

"You stay away from her right now!" Lupine said, in a low and dangerous voice as he stood between the dark figure and I.

"Nice to meet you again, Lupine." The dark figure said, an evil grin on her face.

"You better back off or face deadly consequences." Lupine threatened.

"Oh my dear Lupine, I have come back twice as strong. You can not defeat me this time." The figure said, raising her hands up in the air.

Scared, I put my hands on Lupine's shoulders.

Turning his head over his shoulders, he gave me a small smile.

"We have come in peace." Lupine said, trying to resolve things peacefully.

"What are you doing in my forest?" She asked, her voice cold and menacing.

"We are just passing through and we mean no harm." Lupine said, his voice calm but firm.

"You mean no harm?" The Shadow Queen laughs, a cruel mocking laugh that sends chills down my spine.

"You are in my territory and you mortals are trespassing . I will not tolerate such insolence." She said and raised her hands, a bolt of dark energy shoots towards us.

My grip on Lupine's shoulders tightened, and my heart leaped to my throat. I was shaking in fear, my hands got sweaty.

Lupine throws a shield of light and the energy dissipates against it.

"How dare you!how dare you Lupine! How dare you use your magic against me?" The Shadow Queen fumed. Raising her hand, another bolt of dark energy was shot towards us.

Lupine threw another shield of light at the bolt and the energy dissipates against it.

I was surprised, this was my first time seeing a lycan with magical abilities. I suddenly felt safe and protected with Lupine.

The Shadow Queen stepped back, mumbling some words of dark magic, a bolt bigger than any thing I have ever seen, came rushing towards us.

I watched as lupine closed his eyes, his whole body glowed as a light shield bigger than the bolt, was thrown against the bolt.

A loud bang was heard and I closed my eyes in fear.

"You traitor! I will teach you a very painful lesson you will never forget! How dare you Lupine! I held your hands and trained you on how to use your magical abilities. And now, now you are going against me!" The Shadow Queen said, her eyes blazing with fury.

She closed her eyes and mutters a word of dark magic.

Suddenly the ground beneath our feet began to shake, and large roots burst up from the earth, reaching for us like twisted claws.

"Fuck!" I said, as I felt my blood run cold.

Lupine raised his hand, a wall of light sprang up around us, protecting us from the roots. "We not wish to fight you Shadow. We will leave your territory but first, stop attacking us." Lupine said with a steady and determined voice.

"Mortals, I agree that you are strong Lupine, but no student can know more than his teacher. You can not escape my power, you are both mine now." She raised her hands around, and a storm of darkness whips around us, the wind howled and the air was heavy with the scent of rot and decay.

My stomach was churning. I wanted to throw up, my grip on Lupine's shoulders loosened. I suddenly felt dizzy.

I watched the Shadow Queen take steps towards me, an evil smile on her face.

The storm suddenly stopped and the shadows retreated.

I managed to stand my ground, not losing balance despite the storm.

But Lupine was not here with me, my hands were hanging on air.

I got scared, my eyes welling with tears.

"And as for you, Hazel." The Shadow Queen said, her voice filled with hatred for me.

"Stay away from me." I said, my voice trembling.

"Oh, I do not want anything from you. I am after something else." She said, her hands reached out to touch my stomach.

"I do not understand, what do you want?" I asked, my hands trembling in fear as I managed to cover my stomach.

"I want that child in your womb. Give him to me, and I will spare your life." She said, her voice sent chills down my spine.

"I will never give you my child." I snapped at her, now my fear was gone, it was replaced with anger.

"But you will , your mortal." She said, her eyes looking at my stomach.

"Stay away from me and my child, please." I pleaded with her.

"Why? Give me a good reason why I should spare the child in your womb." She said, a small bolt of dark energy above her hands, ready to strike anytime soon.

"He is my son." I said, tears running down my cheeks. I was scared of what she could do.

"I said, a good reason!" She snarled at me.

"Please, please let us go." I pleaded with her , my legs felt like jelly.

The Shadow Queen looked at me, making a pitiful sound. There was some moments of silence, a deafening silence.

"I will let you go under one condition." She said, breaking the silence.

"What's..that?" I stuttered.

"The child in your womb will be mine." She said.

"How?" I said, my voice barely above a whisper.

"It's good, it's a good thing you are being the obedient girl you have always been. If you do this, I will help you get revenge on Harriet and your mother, and you will assume your rightful position of being the Luna of Vixen Pack."

I felt a weird sensation in me, my eyes glowed red and a small smirk was on my lips.
