Her tears overflow
Zia left the school grounds fairly late and it was already dark when she got home. Her home was far away from her school because Zia's parents lived outside the city. She usually goes home late to avoid the congested streets and sometimes when there are school activities, so her parents are used to it.
Zia went home in a dazed and she doesn't know how she got home. It takes 20 minutes from her school to her home, so she was stunned when she realized that she is currently standing still in front of their door.
'Huh? I'm already here?' Zia thought.
"Zia, what are you doing outside? Come here. Dinner is ready but change your clothes first." Zia heard her mother shout at her from the kitchen.
She opened the door and went directly to her room.
"I'm full. I already ate with Midori earlier." Zia told her mother because if she does not answer, her mother will surely ask her again.
"Ok." her mother answered and didn't mind her behavior because sometimes when Zia hang out with her friends, they usually spend their time chatting over a meal. So, it is understandable that sometimes she doesn't eat dinner at home.
Zia's mind was in a jumble and she didn't take careful notice of her surroundings so it is fortunate that her mother didn't notice anything unusual.
As Zia dragged her lifeless body to her room she felt completely worn-out. Zia slowly sat on the edge of her bed and plop down on the bed face down. Her body feels so heavy that she cannot even care to change her own clothes.
And when she remembered what happened earlier, no matter how much she tried to stop herself from crying, all the tears overflow.
'Hoo, hoo.' Her sobs was resounding faintly on her room.
Zia tried to weep silently, afraid that her mother might hear her but Zia could hardly suppress her sobs.
After a while, Zia recollected herself because every night before her mother goes to sleep, she will check Zia's room.
Zia summoned her will and forced herself to go to the bathroom to take a quick shower, change her clothes and get ready to bed to avoid suspicion. Her mother did not know that she has a relationship with Jacob so she tried very hard to act as normal as possible.
Her mother will be very angry when she finds out she has a relationship because her parents already forbids it. Her parents were strict especially when it comes to relationships and they clearly reiterated that she was not allowed to have a boyfriend until she is 18.
It's not like Zia did not want to obey her parent's orders but she did not expect Jacob to suddenly appear in her life and blows her away. It was not her plan but when she finally comes to know him she falls for him deeply. And as times goes by, she falls for him deeper.
She invested all that her time and effort through her clumsy and innocent actions. Her words may seem silly but she gave her very best to leave a good impression. All those memories he shared with her, big or small are equally vital and important to her.
While on the shower she can finally let go of the tears that she had been holding in, she held nothing back because no one will notice, no one will hear. She stood still under the running water with her hand on her mouth to muffle the sounds. This is her only chance to cry freely in their house.
Inside the bathroom her tears are overflowing though it gave her a quick sense of relief she still can't accept the news.
She cannot bawl or cry her heart out like what she did earlier under the stairs, so she quietly cried while she bathes while remaining vigilant on the time she spent inside. She cannot stay little longer than usual in the bathroom because her mom might find her actions suspicious.
After a while her tears stopped and she is done, she walked out and went directly to her room. She change to her pajama, turned off the light and went to bed.
