149. RV Upgrade

The story with Viktor is officially over and now he is the company of the Mummy in the Null Void prison, where they will spend the rest of their days. And I will personally verify this, since they deserve such a punishment.

After a small celebration that we arranged, the next day our company parted, and everyone went about their business. Vaalet and Wes, as they said, went to the Anur System in the company of Space Plumbers who arrived on Earth, among whom was Magister Labrid, an old acquaintance of Grandfather and an alien worthy of trust.

He will command the operation to restore and support the homeland of Vaalet, and he will also take care of four hundred aliens who will receive their punishment, although not as severe as that of Viktor.

The Saturdays went about their business, they again had some kind of crisis with cryptids there, well, and we were going to go further on our journey, taking Kai with us.

True, before that I fulfilled my old dream and started upgrading grandfather's RV, using all my capabilities and resources. Although, I knew that Max liked the current look of the bus, so I tried not to change it too much in appearance, just polished it.

Now, the RV looks like it's brand new, and it's a few meters longer, half a meter wider and just as tall. Also for our convenience, I added retractable panels on the sides, which further increase the interior space of the bus when we stop.

I also updated the interior trim, and it no longer looks like it was from the 60s. No more beige, but only hi-tech and minimalism. It turned out very well, and with the addition of new furniture, each of us now has his own comfortable personal space.

Of course, I was not satisfied with just cosmetic changes and completely updated the technological part of the bus. Although our mobile home was already packed with advanced technology, but I could do better. I had prepared the blueprint for the upgrade long ago, so all I had to do was bring it to life.

Now, our bus is literally indestructible, since I used Serpensordium for the outer skin, plus added a few energy shields, commonly used on spacecraft. And of course, I significantly improved the armament of the RV, added many different functions for all occasions, and so on. Even the submarine mode is now there. Well, it certainly knows how to fly, too.

In order to have enough energy for all this, I used the former Merlin ship core, which the samurai robots had already completely dismantled for parts. By reducing the power source with Pym, I put it in place of the gas tank and now Max no longer has to worry about running out of fuel.

Finally, I upgraded the engine, but made sure that the carburetor that Ashley donated still served its function and was not useless, although now it is used to supply energy from the reactor to the engine, and not mix fuel and air, but this is not so and a big problem.

- I've finished. - I shouted loudly, turning into the Sandman and destroying the dome that acted as my makeshift workshop.

- Wow... - the first thing I heard when the girls saw the updated motor home. Now no one will turn his tongue, call him a rust bucket.

- This is so cool!!! - Ashley shouted enthusiastically and quickly began to explore my innovations.

- Isn't this a completely new bus? - asked Kai, who, to tell the truth, knows quite a bit about our family.

- No, in fact, if it were Lex's will, he would have redone everything, and it's clear that he was holding back quite a lot. Let's go and see what's changed inside. - Gwen said with a smile and in the company of Kai, she went to Ashley, who was inspecting the new refrigerator.

Behind them, with a measured step, Nebula also moved, for which I also made my own corner.

- Well, how about you? — with a little concern, I asked Max.

- Hmm, this is not usual… - said grandfather, critically examining the bus.

- But… - I asked, looking at him expectantly.

- But I like. It turned out better than I thought. And thanks for keeping the original style. - Max said with a smile, patting me on the back.

'Well, thank God…' - I thought with relief. All this was started just to please Max and since he likes it, all these efforts were worth it.

- Here is the new key, and I also sent instructions to your phone for the new controls and functions that I installed. - I said handing over the key.

- Thanks. - said Grandpa, and immediately hung the Jaeger control key fob on the ring with the key.

- Girls, we're leaving. You can check what else has changed along the way. - I said loudly, getting the attention of Gwen, Ashley and Kai, who have already climbed onto the roof.

- Okey. So what's the plan? - Gwen asked as she calmly jumped off the roof.

- I thought that we had not been to the beach for a long time, but there was only a month of vacation left. - Grandpa said as he got into the RV and got into the refurbished driver's seat.

- It's a good idea, I haven't been to the ocean for a long time. Where are we going, Mr Tennyson? - Kai, who has spent most of her life in this desolate region, asked enthusiastically.

- Hawaii. - Grandpa said with a smile, starting the engine, which, although it made sounds like a normal diesel engine, was only a sound effect so as not to arouse suspicion. And so, the RV runs on clean energy and does not make any sounds at all.

- And how? - Kai asked with a frown, still greatly underestimating the capabilities of our strange family.

- Lex, where to click here? - Grandpa asked me, pointing to the side panel, with a lot of different buttons, which he had just opened.

- Right here. - I said with a smile, slamming the big red button. With this I activated the flight mode.

The RV rose a few centimeters, the wheels folded down and in their place appeared repulsion engines, which were usually hidden under the bottom. Under their influence, we climbed even higher, gradually gaining the height necessary for the flight.

Finally, another large repulsor appeared at the back of the bus, which began to push us forward, gradually giving us tremendous speed.

- Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for choosing our airline Tennyson Air. We are on our way to Honolulu with an estimated time of arrival of three hours and eight minutes. You can move freely around the cabin, but I do not advise you to open the doors and windows. And also lunch you have to cook by yourself. - I said with a smile for fun, pressing another button that activated the disguise mode. We don't want the US Air Force to see us. It would end badly for them.

- We are flying!!! On a RV!!! - Kai screamed in shock.

- That's not the strangest thing we've seen in a while. - Gwen said calmly.

- Don't worry, you'll get used to it. - Ashley added with a smile, who had already experienced something similar once.

- But… but… but… - our new passenger muttered indistinctly, not knowing how to react to such a statement.

- By the way, about this. Kai, we often get into various dangerous situations, we are hunted by several dangerous aliens, and we are also kind of like heroes, but the girls will tell you more about this. - I began to speak, showing off my hero costume for a second.

Ignoring the stunned state of the girl, I continued: - What I want to say is that we are quite dangerous. You are the only one of us who is an ordinary person, except for grandfather, but he himself is still a weirdo who can stand up for himself.

- Hey! - Max shouted indignantly, and then after a couple of seconds he added: - Well, yes, it's true.

- Are you saying that I don't belong here? - Kai asked sadly.

- No, of course not. I'm glad you came with us, as we all do. It's just that I wanted to warn you in advance that you're going to encounter a lot of oddities and dangerous situations. But knowing you, I'm sure you don't mind. - I said quickly.

- Yes it is. I have always dreamed of going on an adventure. - Kai said with a smile.

- Don't worry, you will remember this month for a long time. - I confidently promised, and then added removing one of the bracelet from my hand: - But, I started this whole conversation in order to give you this.

- What is it? - the girl asked, examining the dark purple bracelet.

- This is something that will help you not to be defenseless and even allow you to help us. - I said, and then he began to explain, pointing to the bracelet: - It is called Kenkotrix and allows you to turn into any animal that you can only imagine. And even in a cryptid, if you saw him live and remembered his appearance well.

- …This is incredible. Just like in our legends. May I try? - Kai asked excitedly.

- If course it's yours now. Just turn into someone little. - I said, nodding my head.

Kai also nodded and, putting on the bracelet, began to try to transform. After a second of concentration, she turned into a blue-furred wolf. After walking around the cabin a little, apparently getting used to four legs and a tail, Kai began to turn into other animals, starting with a panda, and Gwen, Ashley and Max watched this with interest.

I originally thought Kai would get the Kenkotrix, but I thought I'd do it later, when we get to know each other better. But now that she has gone with us, it is impossible for her to remain without any strength, otherwise this may end badly. That way I can keep an eye on her and make sure she's trustworthy. After that, Kencotrix will remain with her forever.

Plus, it's a small redemption, because I took Excalibur, which was originally supposed to belong to Kai. Well, I think it's better to have werewolf powers than to have a proto-tool.
