Chapter 8

She ran until her heart and her breath could not keep up with one another. Even then she hadn't stopped she pushed forward till she was crawling on her stomach. Then stopped just as she reached the border. Alessia's scent was coming from across it. She had been taken by one of the LouPirques. She planted her face between her paws for a moment in despair and outrage. Even just pure exhaustion. She couldn't howl for Daniel that would alert them of her being close by. She would have to go in alone and hope she could make it back out alive with her daughter.

She crawled in the shadows of the trees until she had to dive into cover for safety. She didn't want to cause a Ruckus just yet. She had to see that her daughter was okay in the flesh. She would fight till her last breath if that was what it took to make sure Alessia was safe. Even if it meant she would be raised only by Daniel.
