The castle of Enne

Kim could be seen preparing along with the 12 other witches in her coven. Although they had more members, they slitted into two groups in other to be able to keep up with the rampaging beast's poping up everywere.

"So, I heard Karen and her group are in Jukar desert taking care of some sandpokers" one of the withches asked

"Yes, they are" Clara replied. She had been promoted to the assistant commander of the strongest witch coven along with her co assistant commander Keren after Fiona left the coven to be in charge of hers 10 years ago.

"Will they be alright"? Kofi asked, I know how crazy those things can be especially when they are threatened."

"You know how strong Keren is Kofi and beside they can always return if the mission proves too difficult".

"I know but..." Kofi tried to speak

"You worry too much Kofi, women don't find men who are overprotective attractive" Clara replied noticing the real reson for his worries.

"Is every one ready"? a voice called from the entrance of the Equipment room.

"We are ready commander". Clara replied to Kim.

"Alright then" Kim said.

"We will be going to chester to deal with some wendigos".

"I believe you all know how nasty they can be so we must be careful and vigilant. Also lets try not to mess things up, there is already some tension between us and the chaster Kingdom so, stay on your toes and don't be easily provoked by any form of taunts or comments, I'll do all the talking you guys can focus on the mission, is that under stood"?

"Yes commander" they all replied before leaving the room to get on with their journey to chester Kingdom.

Chester was over six hours away from the castle so Kim had made sure everyone was prepared to finish the mission as soon as possible so they can offer help to other people that needed it.

Kim and her coven left the castle around noon and she was determined to get to chester before the next day so they witches took their fastest horses and took them to chester to travel by road. They had other suffisticated method of travelling but they couldn't risk the people of chester sabotaging their things out of spite. Chester was a Kingdom that had its own doubts about witches, though they had aksed for help it wont be suprising if they tried some funny business.

After three hours of travelling they all decided to rest and also to allow their horses to rest.

Kim, who had moved away from their encampment, stood alone close to a large tree as she stared at the wonders of nature.

"Commander" Kofi called from behind

We were wondering were you went" Kofi said

"Just getting some air" Kim replied.

"Clara told me you were worried about Karen and the others".

"It seems your relationship is going well"

"It would have been better if I didn't worry about her too much" Kofi answered honestly

"We cant help but worry about those we love" Kim said.

"But you should trust that she will be back. She is..."

"Strong" Kofi completed, I know she is".

"What is that" Kim immediately said as she heard a sound in the forest it seemed something was with them. She took out her dagger and signaled to Kofi to attack from behing whatever it was. As she walked over the area she had suspected the person was watching from. She pounced at the creature and put her dagger close to its throat only to find out it was her god-daughter, Miri.

"What are you doing here"? Kim asked after feeling her head spin for like five seconds,

"Hello god mother". Miri said to Kim

"You stupid child, I almost Killed you. Why did you leave the castle"?. Kim asked again

"I followed you" Miri said not having any other explanation for her presence there.

"Oh my god! what where you thinking? do you think we are going on a field trip you fool?".

"I just wanted to help" Miri said as Kim dragged her to the place they had set camp.

"What is she doing here"? Clara asked immediately she sighted the Girl.

Ever since the incident 17 years ago she had always kept her eyes on Miri. She was one of the witches in the castle that thought Miri should have been Killed along with her accursed people back in ikuwamiri.

She had no love for the child she felt was responsible for the death of one of her best friends.

"I felt like you would need some extra pairs of hand since mom said we did not have enough witches" Miri explained.

"So you think your hands will somehow be useful in helping us kill a pack of wendigos"? Clara mocked as the other witches laughed at the expense of Miri.

"You can't even use magic" Clara added

"I know but I can still fight and if we remove magic from the table I'm sure I can take on anyone here".

"The same way you took on that knight few days back" Kim replied ready to smack Miri as she found the girls action more stupid as she open her mouth.

"I can help Miri tried to protest".

"You have only made things worse by following us Miri, you can't come" Kim finally said.

"Harty, Zia please take Miri back to the castle and meet up with us after you've done that".

"What? Clara retorted, we are already under manned, why should we further cut our number just so the little princess can have an excort, she came by herself I think she should go home herself".

"She can't go home herself" Kim said

"I can" Miri said

"You can't" Kim retorted

"You are just a child"

"No she's not" Clara said

"Yes she is Kim" said

"No I'm not Miri protested and I don't want to go back home I want to help even if it is just a little I promise to do everything you say, just please take me with you".

"I think she should come with us" Kofi said

"Yes… wait what" ? Clara said.

"If you would do exactly what I say then you can come" Kofi said.

"I will protect her if need be commander"

"What are you doing"? Clara said to Kofi using her telepathic abilities to.

"This is the chance we have"

"Chance for what?" Clara asked cofused by what Kofi meant.

"I want to know why her Life was speared. There must be a reason why she had to be kept alive in an extermination mission. The council did not keep her alive because she was a child, I think we both know that much. There must be something else, and I think we might find out if she comes with us" Kofi replied.

"I understand what you are saying Clara replied, but are you sure it's just that and it's not about Jade" Clara asked.

Kofi looked at her and smiled before walking away

"Commander if you would let her follow us I promise no harm will come to her".

Kim looked at Kofi for a second before sighing.

"Make sure you follow his instructions and stick close to him. I won't always be around you to protect you but I know Kofi will be able to do that for me".

"I won't let you down commander" Kofi bowed before leaving.

"Get ready to leave we will continue to chester, we should be there by nightfall". Kim said

"Miri ride with Kofi" she instructed her god daughter who immediately did as she was told will a hidden excitement. It seems she was finally going to get the opportunity she had always wanted.
