I'm currently at chapter 54, and so far so good. I really like the pace, the language, the fluidity of transactions... Personally, this type of slow-burn romance is what I'm searching for at the moment, so I really like it. The only thing that irks me in the last chapters is just that the FL is too good for just anyone. But I guess the character would slowly develop. I recommend this novel to those in search of a second opportunity in life, where the protagonist chooses to better her life for herself and her daughter, not just for revenge or something too bloody.
I’m in love with the story. I really really hope it gets picked up instead of one of those with the fl has many identities or has been reborn and wants revenge. This one is different and the sweetness is just right. The fl and ml don’t fall for reach other right away, they are going slow and steady without forcing anything. I also love that they are doing it to give their kids a family with love. Ml has a son, who was abandoned by mom. Since ml was in the military his son is also very upright in the way he behaves acts and speaks even though he’s only 10. What he lacks is a mothers love and security and with our fl he feels that and he’s happy that she’ll become his mom. At first he was envious of Tang Tang (fl daughter) because of how close she was with her mom and her grandma (fl stepmom). Fl has a daughter who is younger than He Peng (ml son) and she is just a little ball of love. She is innocent and becomes very fond of ppl who treat her good. She gets close to her grandma right away and also takes a liking to ml and his son because his son protects her when she gets bullied for having no dad. Although the fl is reborn, she has no interest in taking revenge on anyone besides getting what she deserves after her divorce. Her stepmom sold her to her ex but it wasn’t something she blamed her for in her new life which is why she gave her a second chance to be close. Her stepbrother/half brother (I forgot which was it) treated her stepmom bad after getting fl dowry. He ends up being cheated and scammed by her ex but she’s also willing to help him correct his life because she knows her ex is doing bad things. Now all she wants is to protect those close to her since she knows about certain events that will happen like she gives ml some clues or advice about cases he’s working on in order to help him stay safe. I do hope it gets picked up i want to see loving interactions between the ml and fl 😫 the only intimate thing we got was him holding her hands at the end 😭
It’s not specifically indicated but I’m assuming from reading the trial that this book is set some time in the 90’s in China. *spoilers ahead: The past life of the FL just doesn’t make that much sense to me in this story. The FL is literally sold by her parents to her husband. She’s never been happily married but luckily her husband never abused her. In the end he does divorce her for a younger woman though. Now here is the part that I don’t understand. In her past life the FL CHOOSES to leave her ex husband with NO MONEY. This, when she has not worked in years since she’s married. So she leaves her marriage broke and with no means to support herself🤦🏽♀️. I mean, considering the dude bought her and she was forced to marry a man she didn’t love, the least she could have gotten out of it was money. I feel like her backstory should have been better written out - like maybe her husband refused to give her money and she didn’t have any evidence of his cheating in her past life. It’s just she seems way too intelligent to have done something so stupid. Anyways, I do like the FL when she is reborn. She’s chilled and mature. I also like that this book isn’t about people judging and hating on the FL all the time. It’s just about a woman who moves on from her ex and moves on with her life. She also eventually marries someone new. I also like the ML so far. He’s also mature and an honorable military man. You can tell he’s going to be great support. The FL knew about him in her past life but they never crossed paths and he never got married in that life. I guess they had to meet in rebirth before they both met someone they could fall in love with. **note: some grammatical editing needed in the story. I would still like to read more of this one though 👍🏼.
FL was sooo weak I could not even stand it already crying .does not even know to talk back when people are bringing her down . At the beginning I thought she should be a stron go but as the story progressed it just did not turn how I wanted it to be so I stopped before I even got too far.I at first did not like that both characters were not single but I persisted but I still did not get what I needed from this story.Even if she is not strong she should at least not be so useless butting her nose into places that are not needed like her ex for instance why would she agree to uncle tang when she has already divorced her ex.Not my cup of tea but for some it might
