Ch. 8: The Cosmic Brick

This universe inside the Cosmic Brick was divided into three realms: The Heaven Realm, The Mortal Realm, and The Nether Realm.

The Heaven Realm was a vast and seemingly endless land with tall mountains piercing through the clouds, verdant forests, gorgeous flower fields, beautiful blue lakes, and twisting rivers. There was no ocean, but the lakes were so big that they could pass as one.

There were also mythical beasts including but not limited to Phoenixes, Dragons, and Qilins frolicking merrily. However, those mystical beasts lacked a true soul.

Chen Fan has to reach the Dao Spirit stage if he wants the living beings in this universe to have a real soul.

In any case, there is no problem in bringing living beings into this universe.

The air is so thick with mystical energy. The potency of this energy is far superior to the refined Qi stored in Chen Fan's lower dantian.

That made Chen Fan curious…

'This energy has the trace of the True Dao!'

Chen Fan was startled after inspecting the energy closely in the Heaven Realm. He could sense the True Dao in the energy because of his knowledge and understanding.

He licked his bottom lip nervously and continued his thoughts, 'If mortals inhale the air suffused with this energy, they will explode and die! However, if I guide this energy to nourish a mortal, they will ascend and become a Transcendent Cultivator in one day!'

He paused and shook his head in disappointment.

'Unfortunately, I can't control this special energy now. I can only start influencing this energy after reaching the peak of the Dao Spirit and being ready to enter Celestial Ascension. I guess I can't enter the Transcendent Stage immediately, huh? Too bad but it can't be helped.'

Chen Fan pushed his disappointment aside and continued inspecting the Heaven Realm inside the Cosmic Brick.

In this vast fairyland, there was only one city. However, this city was so grand and gorgeous with majestic palaces, artful buildings, and exquisite gardens. If mortals saw this place, they would unanimously agree that the name "heaven" absolutely fit this mystical land.

However, this magnificent city looked eerie because no humans were inhabiting it. This city looked like a dead city.

'Well, I can fill this place with my family and trusted people in the future,' he mused and then ended his examination on the Heaven Realm.

After inspecting the Heaven Realm, he checked out the Mortal Realm next.

According to the information supplied by the Cosmic Brick, the Mortal Realm is filled with countless galaxies. These galaxies are separated into three Tiers: Low, Middle, and High.

Each tier corresponds to the quantity of the Qi in the air. The closer the Galaxy to the supermassive black hole, the higher the intensity of Qi.

As an aside, the supermassive black hole hides the gate to the Heaven Realm.

Countless planets can be used to live by ordinary people. Looking at these planets closely, they are stuck in the prehistoric era. This is because of the lack of sentient creatures to build and develop civilization.

Moving on to the next realm. The Nether Realm.

As you can guess from the name, it's a dreary and ominous place filled with negative energy. This realm is where the demons and ghosts get cleansed before entering the cycle of reincarnation of this universe. However, this realm is empty because this universe hasn't produced true souls yet.

Unlike the special energy of the Heaven Realm, Chen Fan could control the positive energy of the Mortal Realm and the negative energy of the Nether Realm at will. This gave him the limited form of omnipotence, omniscience, and omnipresence in these two realms.

Satisfied with inspecting his universe, Chen Fan checked out his control over the time of this universe.

He found that at his current cultivation stage, he could only speed up the time inside the Cosmic Brick by one hour outside to one hundred hours inside. He also found that he had to wait for 24 hours to slow down the time inside the Cosmic Brick again.

After finding out the ratio of time dilation between the universe inside the Cosmic Brick and the universe he currently resides in, Chen Fan fell into deep contemplation.

'Should I enter the Cosmic Brick and start reforming my body? Are four days enough to get it done? It will be dangerous if I get kicked out in the middle of reforming my body.'

The Half Completion of the Dao Body has another name: Body Reformation. As the name implies, you have to destroy your mortal body and form the Dao Body.

'Wait, I shouldn't think about reforming my body at once. If I reform my body step by step, the danger will decrease. I feel that four days is enough to reform my flesh, and maybe my organs as well.'

Chen Fan could reform his mortal body into a Dao Body at once, but he wasn't sure if he could finish it in four days. Hence, he planned to gradually reform his body.

Gradually reforming a mortal body into a Dao Body starts with the flesh, then the organs, and finally the bones. This was just like what Chen Bei Xuan did when he reformed his body into an Immortal Body in the Medicine Sect.

After careful consideration, Chen Fan made up his mind. 'Alright, I will spend four days inside the Cosmic Brick to reform my flesh…and maybe my organs as well.'

Following that, his naked body disappeared as he entered the universe inside the Cosmic Brick.

Chen Fan found himself in a vast dark space. When he looked down, he saw a beautiful formation of countless galaxies.

He inhaled deeply, immersing in the limitless Qi that he could control at will. The feeling of power was emboldening.

He knew that some freakishly strong beasts at the peak of Dao Body existed in the High Tier Galaxy. He could sense them clearly now that he was in this universe.

However, those Peak Dao Body Beasts weren't a threat to him. He was peerless with his authority as the owner of this universe!

His existence could be likened to a nigh-omnipotent god in this universe!

After careful consideration, he chose a planet with ten times the surface area of Earth and having the same ecosystem. This planet resided in a High Tier Galaxy.

The gravity force of this planet was higher than Earth, but it was not a problem with his base strength. He'd also examined this planet thoroughly before settling here.

This planet seemed to be stuck in the Prehistoric Era. Hence, he named this planet Jurassic Planet.

There were dinosaurs he knew about, but there were also species of beasts he didn't know about. The strongest was at the True Completion of Dao Body.

Right after entering Jurassic Planet, he immediately searched for a nice area to settle.

Soon, he found it.

It was a big clearing in the middle of a forest with a small stream. There was a big rock with a flat top that could become a perfect place to meditate.

"Okay. I'm going to reform my body here," Chen Fan decided decisively.

He sat cross-legged on the rock and then began imbuing the Qi in the air with intimidation and killing intent so that the beasts didn't dare to get closer and interrupt him. He could do this because of his knowledge and understanding.

After that, he started reforming his body. There are two types of Dao Body: False and True.

The False Dao Body lacked the essence of Dao. On the other hand, the True Dao Body was formed with a certain Dao as the foundation.

The method of forming these two types of Dao Body was almost the same. The Mortal Body must be destroyed and then replaced with a body of concentrated pure Qi.

The difference was the Dao Seed implanted while forming this body. The False Dao Body has no Dao Seed, and this is not a problem for cultivators in the long run.

However, the True Dao Body that has Dao Seed will be of great use when cultivators reach the True Completion of the Dao Spirit. Moreover, the True Dao Body is stronger than the False Dao Body and will awaken unique abilities related to the chosen Dao.

Chen Fan chose to form the True Dao Body, and he chose the True Void as his True Dao Body's Dao Seed.

He understood the Dao of the True Void because he had been there. Even though he wasn't there for long, it was enough for him.
