Mysterious block

Trevor was walking hurriedly towards the smoke when his foot suddenly emboged in one of vines those were covering ground.

"Ouch," he shouted in a shrilled voice.

Hearing sudden commotion, Jenna stopped in her track to see him laying flat faced on the ground. Seeing him laying on his abdomen and virtually hugging the ground made her laugh at him again.

He suddenly sat up, and turned towards her with an annoyed expression. She tried stopping her laughter, but his mud covered face and all the mud clinging to his body made him look like a mud giant. That made Jenna double in laughter.

"Oh My God !" She tried in her laughter, "oh God, your face ," she said trying to calm herself.

He frantically started to wipe his face with his mud covered hands. Jenna shook her head at him. And searched her pockets for a handkerchief that she always had with her.

She pricked her tongue out a bit and kept on searching. Trevor sat there now looking her making funny faces, but he did not show any expressions on his face. He was still trying to keep a track of that smoke as it was now lowering rapidly.

"Here," she offered him the bluish handkerchief she had found in her back pocket. He looked at her hand then at her face dumbfounded.

Because he had already cleaned his face. "You still have mud all over your face," she told him.

He reluctantly took it from her and wiped his face. After clearing his face he stood up again, "let's go, " he said turning around and moving in the direction where he had seen the smoke rising few moments ago.

"Hey, wait up, don't go hugging ground again, " she said in a funny tone. And started moving with him.

Both of them started moving slowly towards the smoke, they moved a little closer to that thing to find a deep dent in the earth.

"That thing hit the ground pretty hard, huh ?" Jenna amused.

Trevor stood there grounded seeing a block lying in that hole. Jenna started to move towards the hole, but Trevor stopped her before she could.

"Careful," he scolded. She looked at him confused "It is deep, you just said, remember ?" He answered.

Jenna nodded her head and looked downwards. "But why are we not going to see what it actually is ?" She again asked.

"Well, maybe it's because I can't jump that deep and come back here, I'm no superman you see." He said sarcasm dripping from his words.

Jenna stopped talking anything, "What's up with him?" She mumbled under her breath.

Trevor turned around to find something that they could use as some rope to climb back. He was in mid of his sear h when he saw Jenna going away and seeing some of the wines those were covering that ground.

"That's possible, " he nodded to himself and ran to where Jenna was currently standing.

'Why is he coming here now?' She thought to herself. She was busy in her thoughts, when she saw him moving past her.

Mouth agape she looked at him to see him sitting on the ground gripping some vines in his hands, enable to understand anything she stood there say nothing at all.

Trevor felt someone's eyes on him when he recalled that he had company with him. He looked at her to find her already looking at his hands quizzically.

"I'm trying to make a rope out of this thing, so we could use it to climb, " he told her. She simply nodded and kept staring at him.

"If you are going to keep staring at me, I don't think I'm gonna make it, could you please help me holding these ?" He asked in an irritated voice.

Jenna again nodded at him and moved towards him.

Jenna simply gestured him to hand her the vines he was holding in one of his hands. Trevor looked at him confused, but did not questioned her and handed that to her.

Finally after 20 minutes of their struggle they formulated a thing somewhat matching to rope. "I hope it works, " Trevor said.

Jenna did not say anything again, and moved to the hole. Trevor looked at her retreating back and started walking behind her.

Trevor tied that to one of the trees and threw it down in the hole. Thankfully it was long enough to reach that block.

"It is glowing, " Jenna said in an excited voice. At this Trevor looked at the block to find him really glowing with golden bright light.

"Umm, would you be able to pull me up when I ask you to?" He asked her in a suspicious manner.

"Of course," she said nonchalantly.

Trevor nodded at this and started moving downwards. He started moving downwards with his hands tightly wounded around the rope, and feet deliberately placed on the now damaged ground.

He reached the solid ground after few moments, where that block was lying.

He moved towards the glowing block to see few words written on it.

Jenna stood there looking down, seeing him approach the block she sighed in relief.

She saw him inspecting the block. "It has something written on it ."he declared loudly.

Jenna looked at him again, "Does that have a map for us to go back home?" She asked him.

Trevor tried finding something but could not make out anything as those were facing downwards.

So he started to pick up that stone looking block and tied it up with the rock.

"Can you pull this up ?" He asked her.

"Let me try," she said and started to pull that thing up with a determined expression.

Trevor looked at her face dumbfounded as he saw him pulling up the heavy block in few moments.

Jenna breathed heavily while pulling that block up, "Just a little bit, " she assured herself. And pulled it one final time.

She finally pulled it up, and sat there breathing heavily. "Throw that back," Trevor yelled at her.

She quickly ran to that block and removed the rope from it and threw it at him. He picked the rope and started moving uowards with Jenna's help.

Both of them sat there breathing heavily. Looking at the block lying in front of them.

"Let's see, what does it say." Trevor said and started moving towards it. Jenna nodded and followed his suit.

"Okay, here we go!" Trevor took a deep breath and turned the block around to finally see all the words written on it.
