Unlikely Allies

Miga gave a short laugh at the joke her sister had told her. She was sitting in her private rooms in the fleet, finally able to talk to her sister who had received a break from her training in the family.

"You wouldn't believe how petty the other Vanid are here. They see one human trying to be an officer, and they're so insulted they're falling over themselves to punish him!"

Her sister was very pale for one of the Vanid, her albino features making her stick out. Miga saw her in the family's botanical gardens, the exotic plants that surrounded her sister were sourced from all parts of the galaxy, leading to a vibrant array of colour and shape.

"It seems you have a good shot at taking the position of CEO then. If those other women are so put off by a man, they shouldn't be placed in such a high position."

"Precisely! Let his hubris lead to his downfall, no need to waste so much time and effort punishing him prematurely."
