Chapter 1: The Sin of Pride

Alvars district, often known to as the Gloomy district was a place of natural gathering for outlaws, gangsters, fugitives and the nobles who are on hiding.

Even though the name of place was overexaggerating and most of it even true, but this was the most secured place against any monster tides or enemy attacks.

Leaving aside the matter of the people living here who are more or less dangerous to that of monsters, it is still said to be a safe zone

There was no such thing as democracy nor did any king expand their nation here, `cause here the 'The Law of Jungle' reigned supreme.

The people here only revered to the strong and in a place like this I was the most respected one of all, I was a person akin to the ruler of this place.

However today was different, I the most respected one am facing a frail looking kid,

But the most shocking detail was that there was neither fear nor anxiety in his eyes whatsoever.

All that was present it was a will, the greatest will that has led all beings to the level they are in, it was the 'The Will of Survival'.

Ha ha ha

I break out a howling laugh the kid, and said "Hey kid what's big idea, what do you think you're doing, tell me who sent you here, you actually think you can bring any harm to me".

"Let me tell you kid if you are that desperate to get some money or something, feel free to follow me".

But the latter was not in the mood of talking, he charged at me directly with whatsoever strength he had.

But I didn't dodge that, well it was just a knife so, I snatched the knife in a single breath of air and landed a small cut on his arm enough to intimidate him.

He just stopped there and started crying,

I was slightly taken back. I sighed a little and asked him.

"Hey kid, what do you what, let me tell you I can make it all possible"

The kid some time with no other option of escaping, he sighed and said in a firm voice "I-I want re-revenge" the latter said with voiced filled with grief, sorrow and anger.

I like it, 'so it wasn't just the will of survival but also one of the deadly Sin of the world 'The Sin of Pride' in his eyes' I thought.

The old man's POV

'Ah-h it's a waste to leave such a talent here of nowhere, all alone' I thought while motioning the kid.

"Fine kid you'll get what you need, now follow me" I said, I can see for sure that this kid was without food for days, if not for weeks.

While on the way the kid was looking around with both caution and curiousness, it was as if he came here for the first time.

'Hmm, weird he seems like he's new to this place, yet how can be this poor if he was not from here' I thought. 'Is he perhaps a runaway noble boy or maybe a criminal' I thought again but refrained from asking so.

Soon as we arrived at a good-looking inn and were ready to get inside, "Is-isn't it too grand for an inn if we are just going to eat" the little kid whispered in my ears.

Hee-hee-hee, he is wondering if we can afford it?!!

"You think too much kid, let me tell you that even if I buy out the whole inn it would be a drop from the ocean for me", "And they wouldn't even dare speak even if we pay them zero amount, got it?"

As I ordered the most rated food of here and started eating, I gave short glance on the kid in front, but the next moment a long wide frown appeared on my face!!

The small adorable kid from the slums had completely disappeared!

The one in front of me was well disciplined high-class noble kid or it wouldn't be too much to say a imperial heir, sitting calmly and eating with this unexpected dignity.

'Now I'm more than sure that he not our regular country bumpkin but he doesn't seem like a runaway either, must be some heir of a reined family' thought I to myself.

"So can I rest there for a while 'Sir', the latter asked.

"of course you can, you can rest for as much time as you wish for, and then we'll be departing from here for your training purpose", I proposed.

the kid's POV

As soon as we finished, we left the place and started heading towards the large bridge.

The name of the bridge was 'Camool Bridge', it got the name it has because once the old crown prince of the empire was on hiding in this place.

So, to separate the nobles from commoners this bridge was built.

As we went straight to the bridge, the guards didn't even dare to ask the identities of us,

So now even I was wondering to who this old man was.

Soon we reached the destination, but the thing what I saw in front of me truly burnt the fuse of my head!!!
