A Wondering Traveler

I was there in the beginning, when the first Gods came into being, when the first Stars started to show there dazzling light. When those very first Planets took shape, I was there and watched it all happen. I have watched it all, even before time existed, I am a Wondering Traveler, a Story Teller, a being so incomprehensibly old it can't even be expressed in numbers anymore and these are the many things I have seen in my innumerable years of existence. Hey everybody my name is Wolf11179 and this is my first time writing any sort of story for other people to see, if you have any suggestions for me on who to make it better please let me know.

A Pondering Old Soul

On Planet 39B in the Silver quadrant, deep within a bamboo forest on a medium sized island deep within the fog seas of that world. I found an Old Man, sitting upon a flat rock in a clearing of the bamboo forest, with a small smile on his aged face, and long white hair flowing down to the small of his back. As I approached him, his eyes slowly opened and with eyes that could no longer see he looked at me and asked me a question. "Do you believe in Angels and Demons?" In my head I was thinking "well of course I do I was there when they were made" but I didn't say that out loud. While I was thinking in my head his questions didn't stop, " Do you believe in Heaven and Hell an all that they represent?" " What about God do you believe in Him or Her and all they stand for?" I told him " I do believe in God, but not one your mortal worlds even know of, I believe in a being so great that his majesty is greater than you could possibly behold!" "As for your Angels and Demons they are nothing special before me, as I do not fear them or there judgment." " The Realms of Heaven and Hell are nothing special either as I've been to both and was not impressed with either." The Old Man said nothing for a while after I finished talking, after a few minutes he finally spoke saying " You have traveled a long way my friend and seen a great many things, many of which I can only imagine, but do remember that even the oldest of us Travelers die one day." When I asked him what he was talking about he chuckled and said nothing more about Travelers, but instead asked more questions. " What determines good from bad, righteousness from evil, is there truly a clear and distinct line that separates the two, or is it all just a matter of interest, that's covered in grey?" At this point I figured that perhaps he had gone slightly crazy, as the questions that he was asking were quite odd, but I decided to humor him. " There is no clear way to determine good from wrong as it's all opinion based, as for the last bit, yes it's all just a matter of interest everybody and everything will do what's best for themselves and they will not hesitate to do it, as that is the nature of things, survival of the fittest." As I finished the Old Man jumped back in with another question, " alright you seem to be set in your beliefs on that subject, but what about the subject of our creation. Were we made to be lawful or lawless, to create peace and prosperity or sow chaos and destruction? Are we a race doomed to fail or a race born for greatness and triumph?" As I sat there and listened to him finish his question I began to ponder, why did Dave create all these things, what is there purpose, do they even have a purpose, ah well I'll just have to ask Dave later. As the Old Man looked at me with expectations in his blind eye's I told him " I don't know what your purpose is in life nor do I know if your race is going to succeed or fail or build and destroy, all I know is that out of all the life in all of the universes I have visited one thing always remains the same, they never give up. No matter how many setbacks they come across they find a way to triumph and move on, never detoured and never knocked down for to long, so as long as your race never gives up I'm sure some day your race will be at the very least prosperous." The Old Man looked at me and slowly nodded his head and thanked me for the "wisdom" I bestowed upon him, I then thanked him for the fuel for thought, he nodded once again than stood up bowed and as he stood up a golden glow starting at his feet slowly consumed his body. As the golden light reached an intensity that I could no longer look at it flashed and when I looked up the Old Man was gone. "What's with all these people and there theatrics?" As I left the forest to go find other interesting things on this world I wondered if the creatures Dave made even had a purpose or if it was all just to have something to do.
