A Thousand Worlds

A not so average life ends, and a second one begins. A chance to redeem? Nahhhhhh, a chance to live out dreams would be a more apt description! But as with all, a simple man living out his dreams isn't quite the best of the best, nor the most of entertaining. A chat group (a certainly peculiar one) has been thrown into the mix as well. ==== Find extra chapters at: p@treon.com/stoned_face

No Dilemma Here

(A/N: In case you checked the chapter posted just before this one. My bad, that was an accidental post.)

Undisclosed Location,

Samuel POV,

A few buildings stood among the plains of grass, surrounded by a wooden fence that was somewhat poorly built. The buildings themselves were small and somewhat shoddy, walls made from bricks and things like hay had been used to make rooftops.. Though, a few well built houses, larger houses were also present.

Clear pathways were present through the relatively 'small' village, appearing to just be soil that had the upper layer removed alongside the plants.

"If your clothes were proper, you could've passed as a noble or something." Echidna spoke in a strange tone, it was undeniable that he did look good, better than anyone she'd ever seen and she had seen a lot of people.

"Your praise flatters me, milady." Samuel joked, doing a small mock bow before calmly walking around the village, looking for anything that might resemble an inn. He wasn't certain if this was a village or a town but going by the plain fabric and clothing of the people as well as the fact that they looked rough and carried around tools, baskets, etc, Samuel could somewhat surmise that they were in the mediaeval era.

"Look at you, being affected by a woman's words." Echidna peeked out of his breast pocket, knowing that these superstitious people would panic at sight.

"I suppose, though I doubt the noble part." Samuel rubbed his chin in thought, ignoring the strange gazes he was getting from people. He'd misunderstood one imperative detail about peasants from those ages.

"Mediaeval people may or may not have a crippling lack of intelligence when it comes to certain things and this is DxD so, don't doubt the noble part." Echidna elaborated with a small giggle, this world had people who were, frankly put, really dumb.

"I mean, they had to make someone that should've been in jail look good somehow." Samuel shrugged, walking up to a relatively short man that was scratching the back of his head, looking at the wheel of a cart, his own cart.

"Greetings." Samuel greeted the man shortly, before putting a hand under the cart and lifting it up with ease, he then pushed it forward, clearing it of the bump in the road. Helping people never harmed anyone and this way, he could get some information too.

"Thanks, lad." The older man thanked the stranger, smiling at him. The boy did look like a native, a rich native but still English.

"No problem." Samuel too slightly smiled, his tone was pleasant and calm as always, and as always, it did do quite a bit in the way of making people less wary of him, "Can you tell me where we are?"

-x-X-x-

Samuel now sat at the counter of a well lit inn, tables were present near the walls and windows let in light, adding to the already present luminosity of the numerous candles present in different places. Tables had been placed near the walls and people could be seen eating and drinking with either cheery or broody faces, it depended on how their days were going really.

The silver haired teenager was currently just sitting with his head resting in his hand, he'd learnt quite a bit from the man he'd helped and now he wanted to be done with his mission as quickly as possible. This was Mediaeval England and Henry V had just become the King of England some time ago.

If that doesn't elaborate much then,

'The Hundred Years War is underway and conflict is about to skyrocket, Henry V successfully revived the war with the French.' Echidna giggled, much to Samuel's annoyance, not only was the three faction war of DxD underway, the Great Hundred Years between France and England was also taking place right by it.

Hell considering the implications of this being DxD, it was plausible that the war was caused by one of the three major factions. Heaven definitely didn't so it was either the Fallen Angels or the Devils.

He was going to be done with this as soon as possible, "Speedrun time."

'Nice.' Echidna spoke directly into his mind, it would be strange if she spoke out loud considering where they were.

But, it didn't help that....

Samuel glanced at the three cloaked people sitting in one corner of the inn with an apprehensive gaze, those three didn't feel normal.

'We need their information.' Echidna was somewhat serious, shifting a bit, those three were 'human' but not the common masses, they had far superior magical signatures.... relatively speaking of course.

Samuel slowly nodded his head, clenching his fist...

But then it loosened as he ran his gaze over all the other people present there. Samuel was certain he would be able to take them but, the collateral damage would be far too much. All the innocent people here would get killed.....

'Of course, you don't really care.'

Samuel sighed, it was true. Deep down inside, he knew he didn't truly care about them.... But, "In for a penny, in for a pound." If he truly did wish to walk the path of improvement, then this was a good place to start.

'....Fine. Take them by yourself and the people die. Use me and no one dies.' Echidna smiled widely, she knew he didn't like using magic. This would help him improve or take a leap in the opposite direction, if his love for martial arts was greater, then his intention to improve was shoddy... But, on the rare chance that he used something he hated (magic) just to save lives, then, she would fa-*ehem* her reason for being by his side all the time would be renewed.

Of course, the Witch of Greed would be amused regardless of what he chose.

"....."

Samuel didn't take much time making his choice, there was just too much riding on one.

'Amazing... Consider me impressed, my dear contractor.' Echidna's eyes widened in pleasant surprise as Samuel shot to his feet, waving his hand in an arc as he turned around,

'Ul Shamak.'

"Ul Shamak."

With a tandem chant,

Dark blinding miasma shot out from Samuel's body, moving like a wave that encompassed everything around him. Within moments, this wave had covered the entire village, washing over every man, woman and child present there in an instant, inducing blindness and deafness at the same time.

Next, the silver haired teenager raised his hand, holding out his fingers,

'Jiwald.'

"Jiwald."

With another chant, heat focused at his fingertips before shooting towards the three individuals in cloaks, the heat rays burnt through the bodies of two like hot knives through butter, killing them on the spot.

'Murak.'

A fluorescent sheet of magic wrapped itself around Samuel who kicked at the ground, and shooting towards the one remaining individual, the teenager wrapped his arms around them blowing straight through the wall of the inn before, kicking straight at the ground and shooting towards the sky.

An insane feat resulting from a combination of magic and his own insane physical prowess.

Murak, was a spell that reduced the effects of gravity on a target and using it, Samuel had taken flight for a short duration.

He looked down at the miasma covered village and then glanced at the person he'd kidnapped, holding them over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes. Said person was resisting of course but Samuel had greater physical strength so it was useless.

As he himself watched, the miasma slowly dissipated into nothingness leaving the villagers confused and estranged. All of it happened in a few moments so their confusion was understandable, they probably didn't even know what HAD in fact, happened.

'I know magic is amazing. Are you convinced that you should learn it now?'

"Never."

Samuel would follow the path of martial arts, now and forever.

"Let me go!"

A high pitched voice broke the two's conversation.

"Eh?"

'Of course, it's a girl.'
