CHAPTER 10: MEETING YE ZONG

All genius class kids that pass the assessment was invited to the City Lord Mansion. Each one of them was offered a room with attached bathroom at the dorm or should say mansion next to the city lord compound. The mansion was separated in the middle. The east wing belongs to the women of genius class and the right wing is for the mens. Each room has it's own cultivation room, bathroom and a small kitchen. Its more of a modern day luxury studio. The mansion has 3 floors. The middle was the common room and behind was the galley and dining hall. There is a big warehouse for the students to get resources, but was guarded by the elders to prevent manipulation of major families. There is also an indoor and outdoor training hall.behind the dorms. The mansion was guarded by trusted soldiers of the snow wind family. And most of them were either black gold rank or gold rank.

When Kwangsoo came in, everyone of the genius class went quiet including Nie Li and his group.

"What? Do I have a booger hanging out mu nose or something?" (Kwangsoo)

Then Chen Lian Jian walked over to Kwangsoo.

"You really have a way to make an entrance. Don't worry about them, there just cautious. Some seniors graduate without being a gold rank, and here you are. The first 12 year old gold rank. The youngest too." (Chen Lian Jian)

"I'm not that special..." (Kwangsoo)

"You just have no idea... Bro hahaha?" (Chen Lian Jian)

Chen Lian Jian then introduced him to his friends Huyan Lanrou and Ye Hong the cousin of Ye Ziyun.

"Sheng Fei and Ye Han are not here. Sheng Fei have been a no show for awhile and Ye Han is with the elder training outside of Glory City. I think you are in par with Ye Han. Your the genius among genius in your generation or your age. Ye Han is already considered an adult." (Chen Lian Jian)

"I didn't know your friends with Shen Fei. <whispers> {after I told you what he did}." (Kwangsoo)

"Well, I'm not anymore but these 2 are still friends with him. I can't tell them about it, it might get an investigation and find your real identity. I don't want assassins gunning for you. Especially once you told me that the dark guild have members passed the legend rank. It's too risky. Besides, believe it or not. Shen Fei are actually nice to his friends but horrible to others. So just act naturally when he's around." (Chen Lian Jian)

"Don't worry, all past hatred are gone. I already got my vengeance. So I consider us even steven hahaha." (Kwangsoo)

"Is that why he has been MIA all these time? Even the sacred family is saying that he got into an accident and is still recovering." (Chen Lian Jian)

Kwangsoo then introduce himself to the 2. Ye Hong is the bully type but was loyal to his friends while Huyan Lanrou is rhe seductive bully but also loyal to friends. Kwangsoo also found out that Ye Hong detest the sacred family for forcing the marriage to his cousin Ziyun so he teased Sheng Fei to irritation but Shen Fei was best Friends with his cousin Ye Han so he just put up with it. Chen Lian Jian was the glue to the group. Chem Lian Jian also told them that Kwangsoo is like family to him since he was taken care of his parents when he was young. So they treated him as one of them already. But Huyam Lanrou seems to get an interest in him and kept flirting and grabbing his hands.

"Ooo~ The way you reject my advances just make me want you more." (Huyan Lanrou)

"Ugh! Here we go again. Better to just go with her flow kid. She doesn't know the meaning of giving up. hahha, ( Ye Hong)

"I know what you mean. We have to pry her out of trouble all the time. I wonder why her family gave her that nasty sakura demon spirit. it's really affecting her mentality." (Chen Lian Jian)

"Was she innocent when she was a kid or before she integrated with the demon spirit? " (Kwangsoo)

"You should see how embarrassed we were when we were kids. We tried to get away from her but the more we do the more she sticks around us. We got used to it soon and found out that it's not so bad once you get used to it. She also have a lot of uses. Plus we get good seats and free admission at the auction house. We even sold the treasure or more likely the historical objects in the ruins without paying commission thanks to her family." (Chen Lian Jian)

While they were busy talking Nie Li and his group was talking of their plans on improving their cultivation and getting their demon spirits after the 2 week break (Like spring break). Nie Li, thanks to his profits in the alchemy association. Bought the most expensive nightmare demon spirit they have in the demon spirit hall. It was the Nether abyss tiger which was a black gold rank. He plans to integrate with it once he reach silver rank. He will go back to heavenly marks family farm to see his family before the next term starts. It was the same for all his friends. Xiao Ning'er had complete trust in Nie Li and decided to wait for him to give her a suitable demon spirit even though her family already gave her one which was a gold rank lightning wolf.

"Hmm, I don't see Shen Fei around. I wonder where that bastard went." (Nie Li)

He received an invitation for the annual genius competition which was hosted by the sacred family. The prize money was not as high as before due to their financial discrepancy, but the betting/ gambling event can produce a sizable income for the sacred family. It was also a good chance to get Nie Li to get an unfortunate accident.

Nie Li know this was a trap, but still decided to attend it in the future. He thinks it will give him a chance to hurt the sacred family financially and earn a sizable amount in the process. Also to beat up Shen Fei for Ning'er. So he was planning to cultivate like a madman before the tournament starts at the beginning of the summer break.

Then the city lord make his way on stage of the assembly hall. With him he is escorted by his daughter Ye Ziyun in which most of the guys there was in awe of her beauty. But not Kwangsoo. He just think of her as a cute kid. He is a 35 year old at heart, so he was not attracted at all. But he was looking at some of the maids with a little lust. For some reason they hired only the best looking ones.

"Hello and welcome to all the new students of the genius class. Around you are you peers that will also guide you to success. Learn from them as well as your teachers, although some of you are beyond that but please help your fellow genius and achieve a high rank or even a higher nobility status. For the commoners this is the first time in a long while. Not since my father Ye Mo for a commoner to become nobility. You all have a chance for it. All students are treated equally here. Anyone that don't abide by the rule will be kicked out. Please be aware the nobles don't abuse their authority now that we have commoners and low born noble on our mix. He followed Ye Zong to his private office. But for some reason Ye Ziyun followed them.

"Ziyun, why did you follow us in here?" (Ye Zong)

I just heard the situations and the gruelly details that transpire and why you have to change your face and identity. Don't worry, Zhenlong is my best friend that's like a brother to me. Much to my surprise you are alive and well." (Ye Zong)

So there's nothing I can do. Also if its true or not that they are in league with the dark guild, I already put people to investigate and weed out the spies on every family. Please be patient . For now, I decided to hold all marriage talks until Ziyun is old enough to decide on her own." (Ye Zong)

"You don't have to worry about my revenge. Someone already taken care of it. Didn't Shen Fei was a no show today." (Kwangsoo)

"Is he dead? I haven't heard anything since the approval to cancel the marriage from them. They seem to just hole up in their compound." (Ye Zong)

"Nah, he's alive and well.... Well most of him. Let's say he will turn over a new leaf from today on hahaha." (Kwangsoo)

"Sounds vicious. Also on the other note... Zhenlong also announces and filed for your adoption. You will still retain the name of Lee Kwangsoo, but you will be his adopted son. It will also make your family think that your his illegitimate son from another woman." (Ye Zong)

"Well then, now that that's out of the way. Let's eat. I'm famished." (Ye Zong)

They made their way to the banquet hall.

"Hey brother right here! We save you a seat!" (Chen Lian Jian)

"Will you warn a guy for once...o-onichan!" (Kwangsoo)

"Hahaha! not so I can see that kind of face of yours. Hahaha" (Lian Jian)

"So your the illegitimate son, no wonder Lian Jian is so protective of you." (Ye Hong)

"Yup he's family, meaning Lanrou! He is off limits hahaha!" (Lian Jian)

"(Puff) Your no fun!" (Lanrou)

While they were eating, Nie Li tried to advance to Ziyun multiple times. But Ye Zong cut him of each time and yelling "Stay away from my daughter!".

"You'll soften up to me one day old man!" (Nie Li)

After the banquet, each new students was given a key to their manor/rooms. Kwangsoo rejected the offer the same as other high noble kids. Their homes are more luxurious and more comfortable. But the resources in the compound were free for use to them.

Since Nie Li was the youngest grandmaster in the alchemy association. He decided to take the masters examination in the afternoon. He got his plaque and robes right there and then like they were expecting him to wear it one day. Kid sizes were never made before Nie Li. He also was tasked to make a more advanced pills. The quota was smaller since it has a higher rate of failure. Once again, he has 100% accuracy. But this time, they get 10 times the amount of ingredients to him. It means they gave him 1/10 chances for success. In which 9/10 were brought into his inventory to use it for his home. He is also supplying pills for his servants. So they can rank in their cultivation. Also from what he stole from the sacred family. He gave each servant a black gold demon spirit. So they can easily reach black gold. He needs to find god rank or legend rank demon spirit to exchange them one day. He didn't need any. He can only integrate with 1 demon spirit due to his cultivation. Fortunately, the shadow devil is at god rank.

After his quota was done, he went home and saw Zhenlong meditating in the garden. A little irritation and a tick mark was in his forehead.

"Don't you ever go home old man!" (Kwangsoo)

They made their way to the divine family council hall and introduces him. Some elder opposed to the adoption but was quieted down when the blood results were shown. He has the bloodline of the main family. They now think of him as the illegitimate child from another woman. It was normal since the main wife has already passed away.
