Protector: Introduction.

Alright so let's get this started. My name is Dionis. Last name? I don't know. I'm seventeen, living among humans. Marissa and George. They took care of me and I owe everything to them for it. I've heard stories of treacherous ones. Take another human and use them as slaves? Horrible. Oh and the reason I am speaking like this. Well... I'm a dragon. The last one alive. Where are my parents? I don't know. I was left alone with the family I'm with right now. The Williams. Do they know that I am a dragon? No. If they did I wouldn't be alive right now. I haven't been able to fully turn at all. My scales are not even visible. My parents must have put some spell on me to keep me safe. As I got older Marissa, and George had Aliss, then three years later Jane. Aliss has a problem with me, but Jane is kinder. Today we went camping, not far from the house. Out there are other creatures that these two have read about but never seen. They aren't prepared for that... neither am I.

Aliss and Jane shared a tent. I was by myself on the opposite side of them with my long johns and black shirt on. Aliss was light brown, curly black hair and tall for her age. Jane was the same skin color. Only she was shorter and smaller, but not too small. Both of their eyes were auburn. As for me, I was a bit darker and a little red but it was hidden. My eyes were also green. The two girls had on their nightgowns, Jane wore pink and Aliss wore blue. We were in the West Harbing Forest. The sun was setting fast, as it always does on the east side. The wind rustling through the trees. Sounds of crickets and cicada. An owl not too far but unseen. The girls sat eating their smores, I sat relaxing near the fire. I had a nice connection to it. Being near, gave a warm, fierce feeling. I got chills from it and it felt good. The house wasn't that far, I could see it from here, and smell what Marissa was making. Beans, rice, some cornbread, chicken...

Dionis: Hey damn Jane all those smores *laughs*

Jane: *picks up cup of hot chocolate* It's goood

Aliss: Might want to slow down before the chocolate monster comes.

Jane: *looks over at Aliss* I'm twelve. There are no such things as chocolate monsters, or monsters in general.

Aliss: That's what you sayyyy, but out here there are goblins, trolls, witches and their brooms looking for kids like you.

Jane: I'm not a kid Aliss

-sound of bush rustling-

Aliss: Ooh what was that? *she hides*

Jane: *groans* Evan stop I can see your shoes idiot.

Aliss: *looks over* I told you be sneaky not stupid

Dionis: *shakes head* Henry you too, Agnes, the tree. *looks at tree to the left of him*

Agnes: *walks forward and sits* How did you know?

Dionis: I can hear you. You all make noise. Now. *gets up* watch and learn. *leaves*

Witch: *sees him and sniffs* Gah! A dragon?! Alive? *looks over and sees the others* Mm~ a group of them...

Dionis: *sniffs and looks around* Who else is out here? *starts walking back*

Witch: *disguises self as a young teen around Dionis's age and walks over looking down shyly* Um...

Aliss: *looks over* What do you want?

Witch: *mumbles under breath* Feisty one. You'll do perfect.

Jane: Aliss shut up. *looks at Witch* Sorry about her. You lost?

Witch: Um... *nods* I lost my brother. I saw this fire and figured I should ask if anyone here saw him. Tall, dark brown hair, glasses, he was carrying a book. *looks at Aliss* Just like the one you're carrying. Where is he??

Aliss: I don't know *laughs* and what book? *looks in hand* Wha?

Witch: *moves closer quickly* Give me my book!

Aliss: Get away!

Dionis: *comes back* Hey!

Witch: *grabs her and switches back to normal form* This naughty one comes with me, she's got a mouth on her *laughs*

Jane: *runs away as another Witch flies by on a broomstick grabbing Jane by the hair* Let! Gooo!

Dionis: *feels burning inside and groans*

Main Witch: Go! We have enough! Burn this down!

The kids run away -

Agnes: Dionis!

Dionis: *collapses to ground holding stomach*

So. This moment is a moment I will never forget. This burning feeling inside of me. The agonizing pain in my stomach, my teeth sharpening, the pain in my gums was excruciating. Wings started to retract from my back through my shirt. Brown scales on my body, talons growing, spikes from the back of my neck down to my tail. This pain then turned into satisfaction, the greatest thing I ever felt, I felt brand new. My eyes changed into yellow slits and my vision improved a ton. Throughout the whole thing Agnes stood there watching. Horror and disbelief in her eyes, motionless and wide eyes. Once my transformation was over, then all I felt was rage.

Dionis: *fire coming out of mouth* Agnes. Run.

Agnes: *runs away quickly*

Jane: *tied up to a cross and crying*

Aliss: I told you! I told you they were real!!

Witch: *slaps her* Shut up!

Aliss: Fuck you bitch!

Main Witch: I told you she has a mouth on her, maybe we won't kill you. You could join us. You'd be a terrifying witch.

Dionis: *roars from a far*

Witch: What was that? *looks around*

Main Witch: I was right.

Witch: About?

Dionis: *flies over grabbing the witch by her face slamming her into the ground and burning her*

Main Witch: *moves away into house with Jane as the other witch screams being burned alive*

Aliss: *eyes wide*

Dionis: *looks over at Aliss and snarls*

Aliss: *closes eyes* Dionis?...

Dionis: *moves closer to her and sniffs cutting her loose* Wait for me down near the river and hide. I won't be long.

Aliss: You're a- a

Dionis: Go!

Aliss: *runs away*

Dionis: *walks into the house and dodges a spell*

Main Witch: You are lucky to be alive, boy.

Dionis: *looks around at cages with kids in them*

Inside was a small house. Not that small where if you walk in all you see are the cages a bed some witchcraft in the back and all that. Kids were in the cage left and right down a single line towards a main cage at the back. I could sense something else downstairs and it wasn't human so I had no intention of going down there to see. Also to the back on the right was a cauldron, fire pit and stove

Kids look at him in fear -

Witch: You could join me. Capture the children for me... bring them here, and we could feast together. Look they're afraid of you boy. No one likes a dragon, humans despise your kind, that's why they got rid of you all

Dionis: *tries opening one but can't*

Witch: No wonder the others are extinct, not bright. Only a witch can open what they have created. *moves around him slowly* one wrong move, and you could f- *chokes*

Dionis: *chokes her and opens mouth fire showing*

Witch: Ok! No! Mercy!

Dionis: You don't deserve it.

Witch: I know, I know... I will open the cages for you... just don't burn me... please. I beg of you...

Dionis: *sniffs getting stabbed in side* Ngh! *burns her hand*

Main Witch: *screams in pain* Stop it! stop it I'm sorry! *uses spell to unlock all cages* See! See! *cries* please...

Dionis: *indifferent* You witches are annoying. *rips her head off and throws her body in a fire pit*

Jane: *looks over with wide eyes*

Dionis: *drops the head and goes over to her untying her* You ok?

Jane:....

Dionis: I know... let's go h- *looks down at her hugging him and sobbing*

Dionis: *rubs her back* Let's go get you sister and head home.

Jane: *nods*

Dionis: *looks back at the other kids*

Jane: What about them?

Dionis:... Ok um... everyone. Follow me, I'll get you home. Hold hands and make a chain. Stay close.

So there. I returned the kids to their homes, not in dragon form though. I don't think people would think a dragon returning their children would be a good thing. A few of them thanked me with hugs, especially the little ones. I would hear them say "Mommy he was a dragon! I saw fire! And he ripped off the witch's head and burned her hand!." I took Aliss and Jane back home, also I had the witch's head as proof.

Dionis: *knocks on door*

George: *opens and looks at them*

Marissa: *runs past him and hugs Aliss and Jane tightly* No more camping!

George: *looks over at Dionis* So it's true?

Dionis: Seems so. I'll leave, I don't want to cause anyone else any trouble.. I'm just glad these two are safe.

Marissa: *hugs his head* Boy you are a hero saving all those kids. Their parents...

Dionis: *nods and smiles a bit* I know but... I still want to keep all of you safe and protected. Others may come knowing that there is still a living dragon. I can't risk that so... I'll be on my way.

George: Are you sure? *puts hand on his shoulder* You don't have to leave. You're family Dionis.

Dionis: *nods* Always. Sadly I am sure, but *looks at the girls* I will always protect you no matter what.

Aliss: *runs over and hugs him tightly*

Dionis: Coming from you? Aw that's sweet *chuckles*

Aliss: Shut up... *sniffles*

Jane: *sniffles and hugs him* Don't go.

Dionis: I won't be far, I'll make sure to visit *kisses their heads*

Marissa: *hugs him one last time kissing his head* We love you.

George: *hugs him* Stay safe my boy

Dionis: *hugs them back* I will.. *steps away and waves* No more camping you two... *heads upstairs packing a bag and looking at them* Without me *smirks and waves leaving the house*
