Plan (2) Her Plea

"If you ask it that way, the easiest term to describe it is probably a kingdom that is very open with the changing times, as you know the nobles in our empire really uphold the customs of nobility so some of them are very strict in accepting new things. Therefore, the late King Declan von Cassius established a friendship between our kingdoms in the hope that the nobles would adopt their open-minded way of thinking." He explained, looking at his sister whom attentively listening to his words.

"Can you set an example to the difference between our nation ?" She asks, 'Is it the reason as to why the 2nd male lead was more carefree and awfully open on his pursue even when the female lead already married ?'

"Our empire is possibly limiting civilization ?" Adam smiled.

"As you can see, general people in our empire are illiterate. While in Durham they start to build a school for commoner, teaching them how to write and read. As for the Individual who had a talent, the noble paid their education and it leads to many discoveries such as voice amplification device by Albinus from the Magic tower in there." He continued.

"In terms of noble tendencies they loved to try new things, so they were appreciating every new discoveries even when the commoners who made it. The law was fair at each party, while they still hold the noble oblige. And from my point of view, because they're land near the holy region who worshiped goddess Gaia they were influenced by the priest teaching to treat everyone with kindness." Adam stated, closing his words.

He saw Edith who engrossed in his explanation, she was in the middle of progressing what he said.

"Ah, Is that why the late king marrying his son, Aillard von Cassius to the princess Giselle ?" She asks, looking straight at her brother eyes.

"Yes, and now he was the one who sits on the throne while his majesty older brother became the Grand duke Salvatore by marrying the daughter's." Adam's telling her further information.

"Ahh....." she gasps, The gears inside her head finally realize another fact left from the novel. The reasons as to why a competent figure like him helping the shitty crown prince behind the shadow was because of his close relations to the imperial family.

'Then, the Grand duke Salvatore young master still had the same claim like the crown prince for the throne.' She thinks.

"Anyway, back to the previous topic. Why did you know so much about the Durham kingdom ?" Edith curiously asks, because her recollections on her older brother was very limited.

"I lived in there for two years, finishing my education because our father considering their environment was much better to help me learn faster... you know ?" He said, worrily looking at Edith. He was afraid to tell her about inheritance matter, so he hesitated and left the topic.

Edith on the other side didn't care too much but stunned at his first words. 'He said that he lived there !?' Edith was literally screaming inside. Her wide eyes could be seen by him.

"What's wrong ?"

Edith could feel his nervousness, She sat still while contemplating to ask her older brother help. After a few moments in silence, Edith choose to tell her brother.

"You see..." She hesitates, "I am actually interested about the Durham Kingdom." Edith studying his expression, when she notices that he was eagerly listening to her.

"And, I want to live at there for a few years." She continued, suddenly feeling nervous because Adam staring at her quietly.

"For what reasons ?" He asks as his countenance grew serious.

"As you know ... I had a few nasty rumors about me and I think it would be better if I stay away from the society for some times until the rumors about me dead out." She said while nervously rubbing her left hands.

"Aren't you in love with the crown prince ?"

His question instantly made her frown in disgust meanwhile, Adam who sees it rejoiced because her little sister obsessiveness finally comes to an end after starting to get worse around the coming of age banquet party.

Maybe that time she is afraid that the crown prince would quickly get married with his fiancée.

Then it stopped.

She suddenly changed, at first he was just happy for letting himself became her escort. To his surprise, she was blatantly ignoring the crown prince.

"I'll talk to father" Adam calmly stated as he sips his drink.

"I know it's hard, bu- EH !?!" Edith who thought its impossible felt dejected at his disapproval but it turns out he was willing to help her, she's shocked with an opened jaw.

'Holy fuck !! I did it !!'

Her widened eyes staring at him, she was truly delighted and thanked him almost immediately.

"Thank you !! Brother, you're the best" She said joyfully, hugging his brother neck. Adam's was momentary stunned but quickly relaxing himself.

'With this I don't have to worry about accidentally bumping into him again.'

"Sure, let's finish our lunch. The food is getting cold." He said, escaping Edith embrace.

Then they were resuming the lunch in silent, appreciating the well-made dish.
