Chapter 93: Gladion

"Eh? I understand that Lance won't be able to join but what do you mean my partner for this mission is about to arrive here?", I tried to ask, but Lusamine only responded with a smile.

After I said that, it didn't take long for us to get interrupted again.

Whoosh. Whoosh.

All of a sudden, constant whirring noises started to echo around the Pokemon Center. At first these noises felt distant, but over the next couple of moments they grew louder. Despite the danger of the high-rise buildings all around, a shadowy figure quickly approached in the sky, darting right at the Pokemon Center. Upon a closer look it appeared to be a helicopter, flying in a fast pace. It didn't take long for the helicopter to arrive.

The noise caused other Trainers that were currently scattered on the first floor to look toward the entrance with interest. Even Nurse Joy and her Chansey became interested, as helicopters rarely did direct drop offs here in Celadon City. Of course with it being Celadon City, the Pokemon Center here was among the largest in Kanto and it even had its own helipad for emergency transport. However, those were restricted to Pokemon Center use only.

Thankfully as there was quite a bit of greenery around the Pokemon Center, the incoming helicopter was able to safely land on some grass nearby.

Yet at the same time, two girls who could be seen in one of the rented rooms on one of the floors further up inside the Pokemon Center became interested in the incoming noise they were hearing too. Especially the pale white skinned girl, her ears immediately perked up the moment she could get a good read on this noise.

These two were of course Lillie and Serena, both who were currently dating Itsuki. They were thinking of changing into their nightwear soon to sleep for the night, since Itsuki mentioned to the two that he may not be back before it was time to sleep. Yet before this could happen, Lillie rushed off the bed, heading right to their window.

"This noise...", Lillie said, beginning to doubt herself.

"It is becoming rather noisy. Can you see what's going on, Lillie?", Serena asked.

"I can see something. But it can't be...that...", Lillie said, seeing the incoming flying figure.

"That?", Serena asked, confused.

"Let's go check it out.", Lillie responded, before leaving the window. She then darted right to their door, and opened it.

"W-Wait, Lillie!", Seeing Lillie's unusual behavior just now, it took Serena a good moment before she realized she was now alone. Lillie had already left through the door.

"Weird, don't tell me she recognized what's going on? Well we were about to sleep, but seeing this happen swept my tiredness away. Looks like we'll be up for a bit longer. I wonder if Itsuki is done with his call by now?", Serena said to herself. Wondering that, she got off the bed, and followed after Lillie.

In the meantime, while Serena and Lillie headed down to the first floor to where I and other Trainers were at, the helicopter that landed outside on the grass nearby settled down, letting its rotors quiet down. In the next moment, two figures walked out, both appearing to be men.

"Thank you for this sudden lift.", One of the men said, thanking the other, which appeared to be the pilot.

"It is no trouble. I understand the urgency of this request well. It was given to you by the Mistress no less, and approved by the Kanto League.", the pilot, giving the other man a bow. The pilot seemed to be a butler of sorts.

"Will you stay for a bit? I know my sister will appreciate you coming with me, even if it's only for a few moments."

"Yes. I was given a task of my own. I am to after both Missuses and stay here while you and my student are undergoing the mission."

"Both Missuses...The other girl will eventually become my sister-in-law, won't she? You're already looking that far ahead?"

"Yes. Both my student and her will become part of our family. As head butler she will share a similar status to the first Missus."

"Haha, this will be my first time meeting her in person. But he did say she was a pretty easygoing person. I always forget he's been learning under you too. I should check into our home more often."

"You've been making sure none of those holes open, right? Checking out various parts of Alola.", The butler asked.

"Yes, ever since that incident a few years ago that endangered not only our mother, but my sister too, I swore I would make our home a safer place to be. It was thanks to that I met my partner Silvally. Seeing that none have shown up since, after this mission is over, I may go start a journey of my own.", The other man said, revealing a rare smile.

"Young Master...You've definitely grown while you were away.", The butler responded.

"H-Hey! How many times have I told you not to address me with that title?"

"Haha, a mere slip of a tongue. I say, we should head on in, Gladion. I'm sure my student Itsuki is patiently waiting our arrival.", The butler said.

That's right, the man speaking to the butler was none other than Lillie's brother, Gladion! He had finally caught a break in his travelling around Alola to ensure the peace of their home to avoid another Nihilego-like attack. It wasn't until his mother, Lusamine, requested an urgent mission to partake in, together with Itsuki. As for the butler, it was none other than Hobbes.

"Still...Shadow Pokemon, huh? Ultra Beasts aren't becoming the only threat in our world...", Gladion uttered softly with a sigh. As for Hobbes, he stayed silent.

Gladion and Hobbes then walked into the Pokemon Center.

As for me, once Lance and Lusamine stepped talking and the noise outsider dispersed, I soon saw two figures enter the Pokemon Center. Upon seeing the pale skinned man with his very unique hairstyle, I let out a sigh. I could immediately recognize who it was, and I was surprised my Teacher was beside him.

"So it really is you, Gladion. You seem to be doing well, Teacher."

"So you're over here, Itsuki. Is Mother still on the call?", Gladion said, walking up to greet me. He saw that I was still on my laptop, and I nodded my head. As for Hobbes, he smiled back at me and stayed silent.

Seeing that these two were associated with me, the few other Trainers who were interrupted became dejected, and returned to their own business.

However, just as us three were about to sit back down in the corner of the Pokemon Center, we could hear a hurried sound of feet shuffling from the second floor.

We soon saw a girl with the exact same hair color Gladion had. This girl took a moment to look around the first floor before finding us.

"It really is you...Brother!", Lillie said, letting a smile bloom on her face. She then rushed across the room and arrived to where we are at. In the next moment, Lillie gave Gladion a hug.

"Haha, it's nice to see you again, Lillie. I'm currently in a pause in my travels. Have you been well?"

"Yes!", Lillie answered happily, enjoying seeing her brother again. I smiled as saw this, I was happy for Lillie to meet her brother again. It's been a long time since she's done so in person.

Yet at the same I let out a grin, as I saw a second figure come down not long after. I could see a look of surprise in Serena's eyes as she saw a happy Lillie hugging a person she didn't know. Well, perhaps she did know him for being Lillie's brother, but she had yet to meet Gladion in person.

"No wonder Lillie got excited. So that's her brother...They really do look alike.", Serena uttered softly, debating whether or not she should introduce herself as well.
