A Reincarnated Tale : Pokémon

A middle aged white collar worker dies from exhaustion in the modern world and meets ROB. ROB judges the man, only to receive a good karmic value, giving the man a chance to reincarnate. ROB also gives the man the choice to choose a few wishes, but the man declines, not wanting any outside help. Seeing his honesty, ROB decided to let the man choose the world he wanted to go to instead, along with a healthy body, and a soon-to-be partner he didn't ask for. Is there romance? Yes! This is very much a slice of life journey through the Pokemon World. Current standing, MC works for the Aether Foundation, but has a high enough rank to enjoy his own freedom. Also decides to take the Professor route while going out on a journey with his friends. Current region: Kanto. Future regions remain unexplored. Three love interests. No more, no less. This is my second fanfic. *Cover art is not mine. I do not own Pokémon besides my own OC.

Chapter 63: Triple Battle (I)

"Welcome one and all! We hope you guys enjoy our show today!", Daisy announced in front of the roaring crowd inside the main floor of the gym. Inside, it was gigantic, probably as large as two football fields. The moat and the rest of the building consisted of the third football field.

In the center it was a giant stone battle field, very similar to Pewter City. However, for those new to this place, this was just a forefront. The Gym Leaders here could exercise different types of battle fields. Meaning, they had the ability to tear down this stone field, bringing in a giant pool. All of this was done electronically.

We could see the Three Sensational Sisters in the center of this field. The crowd roared for several minutes, one could see the the fervor they had for them. If one looked closely, Misty could be seen behind the three as well. All four of them had smiles, waving to the crowd. They didn't have microphones or anything, but their voices were loud enough to stretch across the entire floor.

Violet was the one to speak next.

"This is like totally our last show for the month. You guys know the drill, we always like to end it with a bang! We've got something in store for you guys. It hasn't been long since we've started to combine our shows with gym battling, so you guys will be in for a treat once our performance is over!", Violet announced to the crowd of people.

Hearing that, everyone roared in excitement once more.

"But like, we won't reveal what that is now, 'cause that will ruin the surprise. Let's get this show started!", Lily also complimented.

"Yes. Let us begin!", Misty concluded.

As it did, we suddenly saw all of the lights turn off. The spotlights then turned on, with the center of the field shining lights on the four. Before we realized it, the four spread out two on each side at the end of each side. Fanfare began to sound together with them bringing out several Pokemon.

The ground started to vibrate all around, and the giant stone field parted ways, splitting in the center. Not only that, all of our seats began to descends. We were quite high up but now it made it so we were horizontal with the giant pool that revealed itself. Inside the pool was as if we saw a miniature ocean. Filled with life and Pokemon.

And just like that their show started. Surprisingly Misty became the star mermaid of this show, with her three sisters supporting her. They danced gracefully underwater, acting very natural. They did well in performing underwater ballet dancing. Well they were experts in it so it was definitely enjoyable to watch. It didn't take long before Serena held my left and while Lillie held my right, both leaning on my shoulders. No words were needed for this, we just enjoyed the show.

A couple hours passed like this, and the audience clapped once the show was over. But perhaps some forgot, they still had their finale.

With the end of their performance, we actually saw two platforms rise up at the end of each side of the giant pool. After the roaring crowd ended and did their applaud, Misty, Daisy, Violet and Lily jumped out of the water, landing on the platform in the back. As they did, a third platform appeared on the side of the pool.

They themselves waved to the crowd, and it quieted down a bit. Daisy spoke up in the same loud voice that carried throughout the building.

"We like, totally hoped you enjoyed our performance! However, the show is not done. We have something special today."

"That's right. Lights!", Violet yelled out, drawing everyone's attention.

All of a sudden, the lights dimmed on the giant pool, including the sisters. Serena, Lillie, and I were suddenly blinded by a large light, which stunned the crowd. Guess it was our turn to receive the spotlight, huh?

Seeing this, we had to respond.

"So this is what you guys were wanting to do.", I responded, letting my voice carry similar to theirs. The moment I said that, lots of eyes shifted toward the spotlight that was shining on us. Remember practicing your first speech or something in front of a large crowd as a kid? The feeling was something similar: nervousness. We were among a crowd of thousands of people, very much like those giant stadiums the leagues held and those of the Galar region.

Not every gym has large crowd capabilities, but this one definitely does. This will be a feeling one has to get use to, but I mustn't show it, that's why I responded like that in confidence.

"Will the three challengers come down?", Lily asked.

We stood up, and as if it was normal, people parted ways, revealing a path straight down from the row we were sitting in. I took the lead, and Serena and Lillie followed. Thankfully we were able to reach the platform closest to us with ease. Before we knew it, Misty was now at the side platform, waiting for her to start our battle.

"This is pretty exciting.", Serena said, as we lined up to face Daisy, Violet and Lily.

"Yeah. Being in front of a large crowd definitely has a feeling to it.", Lillie complemented.

Daisy smiled seeing us arrive, and she spoke out next.

"We received three battle requests. As these three trainers are a group travelling together, we have concluded to have a Triple Battle! We three gym leaders will be battling these three in a match for Cerulean's Gym badge!", Daisy announced to the crowd.

The moment Daisy announced the Triple Battle to the crowd, they roared. Both excitement and anticipation appeared in everyone's eyes.

"That's right. As this will be a Triple Battle, the moment one's side is completely knocked out will be the loser. The last Pokemon to remain standing will be declared the victor!", Misty announced as well. "Moreover, the field that will be used is the one we are currently standing over. Do the challengers have any questions?"

When Misty asked that, she looked toward us. We immediately shook our heads. I was actually thinking of using a flying Pokemon if this was indeed the case, but decided against it. Serena, Lillie and I went over who we would use from the time we met these four to now. We need to use the pool to our advantage just like they will do, so why can't we use water Pokemon too? It's a good thing we each have one. Sorry Aerodactyl, Scyther and the others, you guys will get your chances to shine. That's one problem once you start catching more and more Pokemon, you need to decide who to use depending on what type of field there is to use to your advantage.

But hey, that's the path of growing as a Pokemon Trainer.

"None. We are ready to start.", I responded in anticipation.

"None here.", Serena said, grabbing one of her Pokeballs.

"Same.", Lillie responded, doing the same.

"Then let the battle begin!", Misty declared, which caused the crowd to roar once more in excitement.

"Like, let's do this, girls.", Daisy responded in kind, tossing her Pokeball over the giant pool. Violet and Lily followed suit, tossing theirs. Three Pokemon revealed themselves before us.

"Seaking.", Shell!", "Psy...", three voices said. The three Pokemon revealed were a Seaking, a Shellder, and a Psyduck.

One evolved Pokemon with two yet to evolve. There's no way they know the status of our current Pokemon, right? Disregarding that thought, we responded, tossing out ours.

"Wartortle!", "Froga.", "Popplio!", the three said. Our three Pokemon immediately dove into the water. Of course they were our Wartortle, Serena's shiny Frogadier, who both of ours evolved from our first gym battle, and Lillie's shiny Popplio.

The crowd was stunned seeing us respond with our own water Pokemon, but they roared again. Even Daisy, Violet and Lily were surprised.

"So you guys have your own water Pokemon. This will totally be exciting!", Daisy responded with a smile. "We will let you have the first move."

"With pleasure.", I responded.

Our second gym battle was now underway!
