A Reincarnated Tale : Pokémon

A middle aged white collar worker dies from exhaustion in the modern world and meets ROB. ROB judges the man, only to receive a good karmic value, giving the man a chance to reincarnate. ROB also gives the man the choice to choose a few wishes, but the man declines, not wanting any outside help. Seeing his honesty, ROB decided to let the man choose the world he wanted to go to instead, along with a healthy body, and a soon-to-be partner he didn't ask for. Is there romance? Yes! This is very much a slice of life journey through the Pokemon World. Current standing, MC works for the Aether Foundation, but has a high enough rank to enjoy his own freedom. Also decides to take the Professor route while going out on a journey with his friends. Current region: Kanto. Future regions remain unexplored. Three love interests. No more, no less. This is my second fanfic. *Cover art is not mine. I do not own Pokémon besides my own OC.

Chapter 61 : Mount Moon (III)

"Clefairy. Clefairy. Clefairy.", a cute creature said, revealing itself to be a Clefairy. The moment it arrived to a fork in the tunnels we were going through, we saw Clefairy become confused for a moment.

Clefairy then made its decision, and continued to down one of the paths. We made sure to keep our distance as we followed Clefairy. For all we knew this Clefairy could be leading us in circles, but I doubt that as this one was carrying a Moon Stone. The crash site actually had a giant meteor like rock in its center, but in actuality, it was one big old Moon Stone. It would allow people to break chunks off of it, and that's the Moon Stone we see today.

After another hour or two, we actually arrived at an exit. But instead of descending further, I felt we were ascending Mount Moon this past while after we followed Clefairy.

We actually came out into an opening on a rather steep cliffside. We could see Pewter City far off in the distance. It seems we were still on the left side of Mount Moon. Tons of wild vegetation could be seen. It made the cliffs a lot more hidden then one would seem. One wrong move and you would be in a world of hurt.

"Zubat. Zubat!", a sudden voice resounded in our ears. All of a sudden many shadows of bats swooped over our head, causing us to duck right as we reached the outside.

If one had a close look, one of these fast Zubat going back into the cave was green instead of blue. Unfortunately as we had to duck, this shiny got away from me. They were already out of sight before we could turn around and gather our composure.

"Wow, that was a lot of Zubat. Are you guys okay?", Serena asked with a hint of worry.

"I think so. I may have seen one that had a different color, or maybe my eyes were playing tricks on me.", Lillie answered, patting her skirt down.

"No, what you saw was real. I saw that green Zubat too."

"Shall we go back to try and retrace our steps to catch it? Shiny Pokemon are pretty rare after all."

"Nah. I caught my Zubat already, so let's continue following that Clefairy.

As if right on time, we saw the cute creature appear over the exit that led us to this open area. It started to hop on boulders with ease.

"Clefairy. Clefairy.", Clefairy said, hopping away on each boulder, soon vanishing from sight.

These boulders were relatively high up, and we would be ascending the mountain even more.

"Whose ready for some light rock climbing?", I asked with a grin.

"Hold on a minute...", Lillie asked, tilting her head in a certain direction as Clefairy vanished from sight.

"Hearing Lillie say that, Serena's ears also perked up.

"Is that the sound of running water?", Serena asked, confused.

"So you can hear it too?"

"Hmm, Mount Moon does have several hidden exits like this. It is possible it can have its own river. Let's keep up the pace and climb these boulders, and perhaps we'll see it. You two can go first, I'll spot check in case anything goes wrong.", I answered Serena and Lillie.

"You just want to look up our skirts, don't you?", Serena retorted with a grin.

"I wouldn't mind that though? Still, having Itsuki behind us will be reassuring.", Lillie responded with her own retort, and a light blush appeared on her cheeks.

Serena giggled but lead the way, She managed to keep her footing every step to her next boulder. Lillie was able to do so as well, and I followed them.

And just in my own bubble, I did see their panties as I made sure they didn't fall. Serena wore black and Lillie white. I'll just keel this bit to myself, but I'm sure the two probably felt my eyes. If you unconsciously stare at a girl, they may say they didn't feel it, but more times than not they probably do.

We took our time on these boulders and sure enough, the running water grew louder. Sure enough we came to a natural formed bridge, and a crystal clear river flowed way underneath it.

"Wow...this area is really pretty!", Serena replied happily.

"Are we even on the mountain anymore?", Lillie

"According to the map we are, and it seems we are reaching the peak of Mount Moon. Perhaps that might be Clefairy's destination."

"The peak?", Serena asked, only to shift her eyes toward the large mountain we were on. To her surprise we were not that far away from the top of the mountain.

"Wow, we really are close to the peak. But I kind of want to go swimming in this river. There's no one around but us, hehe.", Serena giggled.

"If you really want to swim in this river we can come back and set up camp here. We burned a lot of daylight already."

As I mentioned that, we saw the sun was already descending, and orange hues of a sunset arrived.

"Did that much time pass already? Guess we won't make it to Cerulean before the day is over. We probably shouldn't rush to leave in the middle of the night."

"Yeah. Especially on a mountain like this, that would spell trouble. We don't know if Pokemon become active at night here."

"Should we stop following Clefairy now then or continue?", Serena asked as the two nodded their heads.

"I think we should continue. Since we're near the peak, the Clefairy should stop soon."

After concluding that, we actually caught a glimpse of Clefairy vanish into the thickets on the other side of the hanging bridge.

"Just don't look down.", I said in a firm voice. We continued along and made it safely across. Any notion of trail footing ended here, and it was all wild grass. But after clearing the thicket, we found another hidden entrance.

"Looks like we made it."

"Yeah, let's go in.", Lillie replied confidently.

We proceeded through the entrance, and re-entered the caves of Mount Moon.

Sure enough we entered the crash site of the meteor that fell here ages ago. We saw several Clefairy, along with the one that just joined them. This Clefairy put its Moon Stone into a missing spot of the ring of Moon Stones that surrounded what appeared to be a gigantic Moon Stone.

From here on, it played pretty similarly to what happened in the anime. Night descended before we realized it, and a full moon rose directly over the open hole of the crater. The Clefairy did their prayer dance to the Moon Stone, and constantly hoped around it and chanted their name.

Seeing all of this was quite marvelous and it brought up a lot of memories with Lillie, causing her to get a bit emotional. But she stood firm and watched it until the end of the prayer dance.

We comforted her until the prayer dance ended. Before we realized it, several of the Clefairy touched the Moon Stones, and evolved into Clefable.

Seeing it now over the Clefairy and Clefable played around. Lillie tried to locate the one we followed and was able to spot it. Lillie said she wanted to do this her way. It seemed the Clefairy and Clefable knew we had already arrived and still welcomed us. We saw Lillie take out her own Clefairy plush doll and placed it down, which attracted Clefairy.

She wanted to do this her way, and it looked like she was going to bait Clefairy. And after a couple moments of silence, Clefairy hugged the plush doll happily which brought a smile to Lillie's face. Lillie asked Clefairy if it wanted to follow her and Clefairy nodded. And with that, Lillie successfully caught a Clefairy.

We bid farewell to the other Clefairy and Clefable and made our way back to the river. We set up camp for the night and Jan 23rd came in the blink of an eye. Serena skinny dipped in the river after waking up. Lillie welcomed Clefairy to our teams and had breakfast over an open fire.

Afterward, we got ready and easily found the path to descend Mount Moon, eventually making our way to the other exit, which lead to Cerulean City. Leaving Mount Moon, we finally arrived at the sign that read: "Cerulean City", with an arrow pointing the direction underneath it.

I decided not to scribble anything on the sign. Instead with our heads raised high, we continued along the trail that lead to Cerulean City, full of confidence.

I wonder, once we arrive at Cerulean Gym, will we meet the three flower sisters, or a certain redhaired tomboy who had yet to get her bike burnt to a crisp?
