Chapter 44 - Recruitment

Aneesa successfully wash and dried Ace's demon slayer uniform.

"Thanks for your hard work, You can rest now..." Ace said while wearing his uniform after taking a bath.

Aneesa turned into light and entered Ace's body replenishing his empty reserves. "Ahh, that feels good, having my reserves at this level put me at ease." Ace said then go downstairs to join Naaza and Miach in an interview.

Ace actually thought of this idea he will leave Aneesa somewhere while he trains then after exhausting his energy he will call her back to instantly replenish his reserves.

Ace takes his seat in the middle of Miach and Naaza, it's the same energy as a job interview but this time Ace is the interviewer.

"Naaza you can let the first candidate enter..." Ace said. Miach is a god making him a good candidate in detecting lies because mortals cannot lie to gods.

"Sigh I knew it I'm the secretary..." Naaza said as she opens the door to let the first candidate enter. She thought that she will be an interviewer but it seems futile.

A woman in mid 30's enter. She has a gentle aura around her making her a good match in manning the store when Naaza and Miach are not around.

"Have you ever stolen from someone before?" Miach questioned with a kind smile.

'Woah he is going right into it,' Ace thought while looking at Miach.

"N-no-no, how can I do that!" The woman stuttering said not expecting that kind of question.

"Thank you for trying but our familia don't need a thief," Miach said and his kind smile persists.

'Miach!? What the hell happened to your personality?" Ace questioned on his head.

Noticing Ace's face Naaza came to him then whispered in his ear, "You see Miach-sama didn't get much sleep this past week, the guild is calling him almost every day while the other gods are pestering him about you...also the pharmacy is understaffed making the workload overbearing.."

Ace made an understanding nod.

"Naaza my dear child please get the next candidate haha," Miach said but the light in his eyes is slowly getting dimmer.

The second candidate was a cat person, a young man with gray hair. Ace can tell by scanning his body without using detection that this man already trained himself.

Miach rejected him though. He said that man is a racist.

Third, Rejected...Too lusty!

Fourth, Rejected...Thief!

Fifth, Rejected...Too much body odor!

Sixth, Rejected, A blacksmith that doesn't want to create something!

Seventh, Rejected, too old to do anything!

Eighth, Rejected, Why is his right hand so much bigger than his left? Giggity

Ninth, Rejected, Her boobs are bigger than her head, Ace wanted to object but Naaza gave him the death stare, she is also a thief but still debatable.

The list goes on and on while Ace didn't even have a chance to say anything...well, Ace trusts Miach to made the right decision so he might as well get some sleep.

"Naaza please get the 50th candidate," Miach requested, his voice is respectful but he is leaking with hatred. Miach wants to sleep too!

Ace already sleeping on his chair when he finally heard something positive from Miach.

"Ace this woman passes!" Miach excitedly announce.

'Finally...' Ace thought then looked at the girl and find out she looks exactly like Raphtalia from the rising of the shield hero anime. 'What the hell, crossover?' Ace thought.

"She belongs to raccoon person race her name is Rafia. I've asked her multiple questions and none of her answers are lies." Miach said.

In a true sense, Miach is really not finding a pure-hearted person or something like that but he wanted a member that won't lie to him.

The first candidate earlier can easily enter the familia if she just answered honestly.

Rafia is the daughter of a baker in the market area, She said that she always wanted to be an adventurer but her mother is preventing her from becoming one.

She is a good cook, receptionist, and, secretly practice swordsmanship at night when her mother is sleeping. Last week when Orario is startled about Ace's level-ups and feats, her mother gave her a challenge.

"If you manage to get his approval I will let you become an adventurer," Rafia's mother said.

"Is your mother alright? Why she wants you to get my approval she doesn't even know me." Ace said with half-close eyes.

"S-she thought that If I get the approval of the fastest level 4 in Orario then I have a chance to become a powerful adventurer, enough for me to survive until retirement..." Rafia shyly said.

"So your mother is one of those who blindly believe the guild?" Ace questioned.

"Y-yes...and because Miach Familia is not an exploration type of familia my mother assumed that I would be safer here." Rafia shyly said.

"Well at least she is not wrong about you Ace, but she definitely wrong about being safer here," Miach said as he continues the interview. In the end, Rafia became the third member of Miach Familia.

Out of the two hundred that apply that day, only ten passes Miach's assessment and successfully became part of our familia.

Naaza quickly removes the recruiting sign then informs the others that we will post if we are recruiting again.

The second floor of the pharmacy can hold up to 15 people so there was no problem housing 10 more, but still, a little expansion can hurt no one.

Ace decided to leave the management to Naaza.

Miach is working right now and giving the new members their status. Poor Miach.
