Chapter 20 - Peace before war.

"Thank you for healing me Ace-sama!" A man wearing a standard demon slayer outfit said. He slightly bows to show respect then left the area.

'Sigh, finally done healing, how many slayers I've been treating these past days, it's tiring but it also helps my energy reserves to grow a bit,' Ace thought.

Right now Ace is staying at the butterfly mansion and healing some injured demon slayer while Mukago is continuing her training.

Shinobu is out for a job meaning that he is the highest authority right now. Ace is not officially a hashira, but the respect he is receiving is similar to theirs.

Suddenly a girl with brown skin and black hair entered the scene, this girl is Mukago, "Ace-sama, I finally got my sword, look! It is beautiful!"

Mukago cutely showcases her sword. Her sword is colored pink just like Mitsuri, but the tip of her sword has a white zigzag.

The scabbard is colored in black with a white diamond on its locket.

Ace smiled then patted Mukago's head, "Good good, how about your training? did you learn something new?"

Mukago slightly looks downed Mitsuri teaches her all of the forms of love breathing but she can only learn one, she is having trouble executing the others.

"Hey no need to self-loath, you are talented to learn one move of love breathing in less than a month, you should be proud!" Ace honestly said.

"Un!" Mukago smiled.

"Pack your stuff, we will travel this after lunch," Ace commanded Mukago which the latter quickly obeyed.

After Mukago left, The water hashira quietly entered the scene with his trademark stoic face.

"What's up, Tomioka-san?" Ace questioned.

The demon slayer is truly indebted to Ace's. Because of his presence, the death casualties of the injured slayers dramatically decrease.

"We have new information about a demon...It might be part of the twelve kizuki," Tomioka said.

'Did I cause a butterfly effect by curing Mukago? If I'm not wrong even if Muzan can access what Mukago can see, he can only see a darkness because Mukago is unconscious when I turned her into a human,' Ace ponder.

"Can I come with you?" Ace questioned Tomioka Giyu.

Tomioka shakes his head then said, "Impossible, You are tasked by Oyakata-sama with a different mission.

"Oh? what is it?" Ace questioned, what kind of mission will he received knowing that he is one of the most important people in this place.

"In town to the northwest, demons seem to appear one after another..." Ace is surprised if he is not wrong that town is where Tanjiro saw Muzan pretending to be a human, Asakusa.

"You don't mean..." Ace questioned.

"Yes, We suspect Kibutsuji, the demon lord is residing there and pretending to be a human," Ace can feel the anger from the hashira even though his expression is not changing.

'I really did change something, did change the canon, maybe Muzan is wary because one of his lower ranks didn't die but just disappear,' Ace theorize.

"Understood, but shouldn't we attack him altogether? we have a higher chance of winning that way," Ace questioned.

"We don't know what he looks like...All we know is that town is a nest of demons," Tomioka said then continued, "You will travel with Kanroji-san and Mukago-san."

"I get it now, so you want us to collect more information because the slayers who are station there died?" Ace questioned.

"Precisely, If you confirm that someone there can create demons, you must report using the crows first before running or attempting to kill it," Tomioka explained.

'I guess sending a bunch of Hashiras because an unconfirmed report will only make the situation more dangerous...' Ace thought.

Demon Slayer Corps are not recognized by the government, but they are necessary for humanity to survive. Taking their force and focusing them in one town is not a good decision.

"Understand, and hey Tomioka-san, Thanks for trusting me with this mission, I know you want to take it for yourself," Ace said with a friendly smile.

"Don't die," The water Hashira said then left the scene.

Two girls and a man can be seen outside the headquarters ' gate. This is Ace, Mukago, and Mitsuri.

Ace is not carrying any sword, if not for his demon slayer uniform inside of his black haori then he will be suspected as a civilian.

"Let's go, we need to get there before evening..." Ace with a gentle smile.

'We are heading for battle but he still so calm! how beautiful that is!' Mitsuri thought.

"Un!" Mukago responded.

The group continued their travel with ease, what they don't know is what fate they can experience after going there.
