Chapter 08 - Demon Hunt Part 01

*Mukago's POV* (Town Demon)

This is the longest I've prey in town, This town is great for its delicious men, hehehehe. I don't hear any news about the demon slayers so I will assume I am safe for one more day.

My blood demon arts is very unique compare to other demons, I can alter memories of people that make contact with my eyes. Female and drunkards are easier to control making them my diversion.

My every night routine is to eat and manipulate, I really don't stay in towns this long and always on the run, I don't want to meet any demon slayers Hashira after all.

But this town's people are like a delicacy to me, they are so delicious for my taste.

I want to eat four people this time, yesterday I manipulate a handful of people to remember that I show up in the slum district. So right now I will hunt on the opposite side of town.

This is my last night in this town so I will eat my feast then move to another hehehehe.

I am jumping from roofs to roofs then I finally found my first target, He looks very delicious. He smells so tasty, In my eyes, he is like fresh water in a drought.

His snowlike hair is so pure that I salivate a little, I can see the muscle in his arms making me believe that he trained his body. Too bad for him, even trained humans cannot overpower demons.

He has the most delicious smell of all humans. He doesn't have a katana, which means he is not a demon slayer in disguise.

Well then, time to eat! I jump towards him but then his aura immediately changes to a terrifying one, This moment I knew, I fucked up.

Ace's POV (Before night time)

"Umm, Excuse me can I stay in your house for the night?" I said to the man in front of me.

I can feel another presence inside the house, a female, It must've been his wife.

Their house is located right in the center of the town making it the ideal place for me to spam my detection skill. It's not that I don't trust the resident's information about the demon, but because no demon would let a human escape without killing them.

"Sorry my wife is sick and I don't want her to infect you," The husband said to me with a kind but sad smile.

"I'm sorry to ask but what kind of sickness she has?" I questioned him, I might able to help her. If I want to help the demons, I should start by helping humans first.

"I don't know, She started losing weight, then her skin and eyes slightly slowly turned yellow, the doctor said she doesn't have much time left." The husband explains to me, his voice started to get sadder and sadder, almost on the point of crying.

"Is she frequently have been experiencing pain in her abdomen?" she might have Pancreatic Cancer, even in the modern world, that kind of cancer has 95% fatality.

The husband seems surprised by my question, "Yes she is how did you know?"

"Can I check her condition? I might able to cure her," I said.

The husband looks at me with hope, I know this kind of look, A desperate look that you will give to anyone who can show you even a tiny glimpse of chance.

The husband leads me to his house towards his dying wife.

I really do hope, that I can cure her.
