As Ulric spun to face Conall, who was in his human form for the moment, Deke called out from the dining room, “And a second one, who didn’t have the guts to kill the Sullivan family in person, but relied on the lily-livered action of a fire bomb to do the job.” He stepped forward. “Well, I’m presuming you’re the one, since my friend ordered you to show up as well.”
::I’ll show you who’s the coward,:: Ulric roared in their minds as he stalked toward Conall. ::Weak bastard who doesn’t live the way we are supposed to, as a wolf.::
Conall eyed the huge beast, assessing the best way to take him down. Then he shifted, moving deeper into the living room as he did. ::The larger they are…:: he spat out derisively. He leapt to Ulric’s left side, snapping his jaws on the shifter’s hind leg, tearing out a mouthful of flesh, the metallic odor of blood filling his senses.
