Chapter 19

“I wonder if there’s any deer,” she said, her mood making an abrupt one-eighty as she dashed out of the cabin.

“Or cougars or bears,” Rory suggested as he went after her.

She beamed. “Do you think there could be?”

“Got me, and I don’t really want to find out.”

“Yeah, I guess that wouldn’t be so much fun, but still…”

“How about we head home,” Deke suggested.

“But we have to clean the cabin,” Molly protested.

“You can do that if you have to use it. It’ll give you something to keep you busy,” Deke replied.

“I guess.”

After Deke padlocked the door and put the key back where he’d found it, they returned to the car. Half an hour later they were back at his house.

“Would you mind doing me a favor?” Deke asked Conall a few minutes after they’d gotten home. “Take my car and go into town to pick up more groceries.”

When Conall nodded in reply, well aware of the reason behind Deke’s request, Molly asked, “Can I come too?”
