Surprise

It was morning already. It came faster than usual.

Xavier couldn't be more grateful. He missed his family so much, and couldn't wait to see them again, and break the goodness to them.

The deal was a special surprise to his dad, as his dad had been so worried about it. It was a deal that his dad couldn't secure for years.

For so many years, Mr Wellington struggled to get hold of that deal but he couldn't.

He could not imagine how proud his dad would be. He couldn't wait for every reaction he was going to get.

James had packed Xavier's belongings into the boot of the car. He was sitting at the driver's seat and waiting patiently for Xavier to discharge his one night stand.

James watched keenly from the side view mirror, as Xavier pulled out a huge amount of money and placed it on the outstretched hands of the young woman.

He shook his head in distaste.

He loved his boss, and cared about him. But this part of Xavier's life was what he despised.

It also surprised him that Xavier acted like the most loyal and decent human in front of his parents and Lisa.

They saw him differently. They saw him as one who could not hurt a fly, let alone a human.

James wished Lisa could see Xavier in the act one day. Xavier, doesn't deserve Lisa. James thought.

The slamming of the passenger door brought James out of his reverie. He turned to his right, to see Xavier already sitting down.

He knew it was his cue to start the car. He started the car and drove away.

"We'll stop over at the flower shop to get some flowers for mum." Xavier said, typing away on his phone.

"Okay sir." He nodded.

James stopped at the flower shop to get some flowers for Xavier's mum. He dumped it carefully at the back seat and continued their journey.

It was a thirty minute drive from the hotel to his parents house.

The drive felt too long for James, as he wanted to have a good sleep and some good food.

"Hey baby." Xavier said. He was on the phone. James knew it was Lisa, so he paid rapt attention to the call, with his eyes focused on the road.

"On my way there, baby. Yes, James is with me. He's driving. I missed you so much last night baby, I wished you were with me. I love you so much. I'll give you a call the moment I get home." The call ended with Xavier smiling sheepishly.

James couldn't believe how much of a liar Xavier was. He couldn't believe he was lying to Lisa.

"Why couldn't Lisa come along with us?" James asked before he could stop himself. "Shit!" He muttered under his breath.

Xavier paused, turned to look at James, and flashed him a toothy smile. "She will, next time. This isn't the perfect time."

"But it would have been the perfect time. The good news you're about to break, would definitely go well with you showing Lisa off to your family." James did not know why he was talking with so much confidence. He liked it, and he was proud of himself for trying to defend Lisa.

Xavier chuckled. "When the time is right, Lisa will come home with me." He dismissed James immediately.

James blared the car horn, the moment he got to the large gate. The gate opened widely almost immediately, and he drove in.

"Home sweet home!" Xavier smiled. He looked around in excitement. A lot had changed. The house looked different than he could remember.

"Welcome sir." A maid greeted, dragging his box into the house.

That was when Xavier realized that he was supposed to be inside.

He took almost long strides to the door. He got to the front door and pushed it open, but a maid carried him to it. She quickly grabbed the door handle and pushed the door open.

The moment Xavier stepped in, he saw his mum on their couch, watching her favorite early morning show.

She whipped her head towards the door, and met eye to eye with her don. Her eyes and mouth widened in shock.

"Xavier?" She asked and stood up from the couch.

"Yes mum, that's me." Xavier laughed heartily.

His mum pulled him in for a very tight hug, with a squeal that alerted Mr Wellington who was up in his study room.

"Xavier's home!!!" Mrs Wellington screamed loudly. She was really overjoyed ,and couldn't stop screaming her lungs out.

Mr Wellington ran down the stairs as fast as possible to see if what his wife had just blurted out was true.

"Oh my God, is that you Xavier?"Mr Wellington squinted his eyes.

"Yes dad, it's me, Xavier!" He gave a toothy smile.

Mr Wellington couldn't contain his joy anymore. He was the happiest in the building. He hugged his son tightly. The son he was very proud of.

"Well, Surprise!!!" Xavier pulled his arms open, with a toothy grin. "I missed you guys so much. Everything's changed over the years." He took a mental note of the interior.

The couch wasn't the one he used to play on, with his twin.

Speaking of his twin, he turned to his mum. "Where's Xander?"

"He doesn't live here anymore, ' Mrs Wellington replied. There was a cast of sadness that clouded her eyes. Xavier saw it.

"Since when?" He questioned again.

"A long time ago. Don't you guys speak?" Mets Wellington rose a brow up, I'm question.

Xavier scratched his head. He knew how disappointed his mum would be, if she heard they had not really been catching up with each other over the years.

"Xavier?"

"We have mum. I'm really hungry and had a long morning. Can we talk about this later?" He pushed the question aside and began walking up the stairs, and into his room.

If there was one thing Xavier hated seeing was him mum being sad. He saw that sadness in her eyes, and it weakened his spirit.

He only wondered why Xander moved out of the house
