Developments & Info Gathering

Rimuru Perspective:

It has been 2 weeks since the orc invasion has come to a stop. Over the course of those two weeks a lot of events have transpired.

Such as forming an alliance with the lizardmen, the orcs, the dryads such as Treyni and my people of tempest. Once that alliance was setup I personally spent the next 8 days naming the surviving orcs from our war. Totaling 135,000 orcs were left over.

(A/N: I know the number was 150,000 orcs, but there was more people on his side meaning more casualties.)

With the labor being provided by the orcs, we have made many developments to my village, such as having running water. Another thing that came out of there labor was we could get more housing detailed and constructed.

But the one thing I have been personally trying to succeed in is how to use this 'Demon Lord Seed'. I take it as like a flower seed meaning you would need something to nourish it, but I have no reason to think that way other than it's name. All I truly know is maybe one of these authentic demon lords can tell me, but even then I'm not completely sure.

Aside from that, I used Shizue's skill she left behind called [Degenerate] to merge my skills [Predator] and [Starved] that I got from the orc lord and it made a new skill called [Gluttony]. Its an interesting skill that has its abundance of uses, I have also been trying to combine other skills but I didn't want to screw up and get something useless.

But there was one combination that seemed good using [Degenerate] I combined [Monster Ruler] and [Destruction] which created a new Unique Skill called [Chaos].

The sub-skills are as follows:

Eyes of Destruction: Allows the user to access a multitude of magical eyes that serve a multitude of purposes.

Monster Manipulation: The user can control as many as monsters within the visible range.

Offspring: The user can create monsters that are from their own race. The chance to create a a monster with an ego is 65%

Source Bondage- A combination of [Source] and [Soul Bondage]. Allows the user to revive themselves from nothingness via soul corridors formed. Saves 50% of the persons soul the user inhabited. Takes time to heal for resurrection.

The skill in itself just took in attributes from the Unique Skills I combined and further enhanced them. It made a skill that like the name implies, 'chaotic'. I have already tested out my [Gluttony] skill but I have nothing I can use [Chaos] on, just knowing I have it makes me want to use it as much as I can.

Brainstorm! I wonder if I can talk to Veldora, since he is in my [Stomach], He is pretty old so I wonder if I can ask him what to do for this Demon Lord Seed.

'[Great Sage], am I able to speak with Veldora?'

{Answer: Master is capable of speaking with both the individual Veldora Tempest and the Spirit Ifrit.}

'Oh right I forgot about Ifrit, I wonder what he's been doing in my stomach.'

{The individual Ifrit has been playing games with Veldora as well as sparring with him.}

'Games? Exactly how are they playing games? Wait don't tell me.'

{Correct, the individual Veldora has access to masters memories.}

They have been playing games they found in my memories. They better have stopped at my memories of games and not all of them. Well it's whatever for now, I will question him about what he saw when he's free of the [Unlimited Imprisonment].

'[Great Sage], open communication with Veldora.'

{Understood.... Establishing connection.... Successful. Connection with the individual Veldora has been established.}

(A/N: I wanted more Veldora here so sue me. I love Tsundora.)

(Veldora, can you hear me?)

(Hoh! Kuahahaha! If it isn't my sworn brother, Rimuru! Do you need anything from me?)

He is as loud as usual. But whatever, so far I have kinda missed this loud dragon.

(Veldora, do you have any information about a thing called a Demon Lord Seed?)

(Demon Lord Seed? Hoh! Why do you ask? Have you acquires one yourself!? I knew you had potential, Kuhahaha.)

(Matter of fact, yes. Now what do know about it? If you care to tell me.)

(Hm? All I know about a Demon Lord Seed is that it is what the Awakened Demon Lords call the ones who have not awakened.)

(So is it more of a title?)

(Well I do know of a story about a Demon Lord I knew of.)

(Really! Who was it!?) Rimuru asked

(It was a dragonoid, she is my elden brothers only child so that naturally makes her my niece.)

(You have a family?)

(Indeed! We True Dragons are siblings to one another, but I stand supreme as the strongest, Kuhahahaha!)

(Yeah, sure. Anyways about that story.)

(Hm? Oh yes. The story goes about Demon Lord Milim Navas life. My elder brothers wife Lucia, gave birth to her and most of his power went to Milim, weakening him to a degree. But as the law of the world goes 'God must love all beings equally', so I guess he loved his wife and daughter more. The world used an old country as a catalyst to kill Veldanava and Lucia. But before that he left a baby dragon for her that was suppose to be his next reincarnation and so she would never be alone.)

'This girl had her parents taken from her simply because her father cared for them more than his creations, I don't know why even though I haven't met this person, it makes me angry.'

(That is not where the story ends, is it?) Rimuru asked in a serious tone, indicated by Veldora when he was retelling the story.

(Unfortunately not. Years had passed for Milim, all she did was play with her baby dragon. But a conspiring country wanted to control her, so they located her and killed her baby dragon in front of her. Upon seeing the death of this dragon she flew into a rage and destroyed that country and somehow evolved into a demon lord. Her rampage went on even after the country was destroyed. It took the combined efforts of the first demon lord and the queen of the spirits to stop her rampage. When that was over with, her pet dragon miraculously revived, but it lacked a soul, it was an undead monster bent only on destruction. This saddened her further and she resolved herself and sealed her pet. That was the first achievement she made upon becoming a demon lord.)

The story was sad. Even though I didn't know her, the story makes her out to be a kind person. If I meet her I will end up treating her as one of my own.

'[Great Sage], is that enough info?'

{Information acquired is sufficient. As the story suggests, nourishment is needed to make the seed sprout. Fourty-thousand human souls must be used as nourishment as all requirements have already been met.}

'Fourty-Thousand!' This info nearly made me shout. I have to commit mass murder in order to evolve, I can't do that. But I made a vow to protect my people, but to kill almost a quarter of a hundred-thousand. I cannot be near the strongest people of this world, so I need power to protect them. This is a difficult decision. I guess I will only do that if the chance arrives.

(Rimuru-sama.) Souei had abruptly contacted me while I was debating with myself.

(What is it Souei?)

(There is a group of armed riding pegasi, headed for the city, we believe your presence is needed.) Pegasi? This really is a fantasy world.

(Alright Souei, I'll be there shortly.) Following that I cut the [Thought Communication] and said my thanks and goodbyes to Veldora for the info. He merely gave me a haughty laugh like usual. That serious tone could no longer be traced throughout his voice. I was now heading towards the location.

I arrived to see my people getting ready for what may be another fight. It is ridiculous that they are already prepared, but better safe than sorry. Kaijin was there as well for some reason.

"Kaijin? What are you doing here? This may end up being a fight after all." I asked concerned as to why he was here.

"Oh! I am just following up on what I heard rumors of back in Dwargon."

'Dwargon? What do they have to do with th-, Never mind I see.' Leading the Pegasi was the exact dwarf king of Dwargon. But the question is why is this king here.

Slowly but surely, all these knights including their king landed in front of us and dismounted their Pegasi. Kaijin ran up and knelt before the king. It was a bit shocking if you take into account that he was exiled, but I guess that didn't matter to him.

"It is great to see you my liege. I hope you have been well." Kaijin said with respect in his voice.

"I hope you too have been well Kaijin. But I come today for important business matters." The king said as he turned his gaze to me. I cant help but get the feeling that he is hostile.

"Hello there slime." Oh boy. I can already feel the killing intent from the others and its all directed towards Gazel. I better stop this.

"It's great that you recognize me King Gazel. But I would appreciate it if you don't call me slime. I am the leader of the jura forest alliance, Rimuru Tempest." I said with a smug smile. But in response to my words the knights behind him grabbed the hilts of their swords. But Gazel raised his hand indicating to stop.

"It seems I need to teach you of your place slime due to your boasting. I have come to test if you are an evil being, so draw your blade." He said while looking at my katana I had hanging around my waist. My friends on the other hand seemed like they were about to burst in rage due to his words. In response I unsheathed it and readied myself.

We there is silence waiting for the other to make the first move. Finally Gazel made the first strike as he swung his massive sword down almost on my head. Luckily I blocked, although I had gotten knocked back but I still managed to maintain my footing.

I recovered and fought back using my speed to my advantage, but in the end he was able to block almost every strike. I say almost because, I cut some hairs off his beard before backing off. 'Hah! This is what happens when you call me a boaster!' I yelled inwardly.

"Here I come Rimuru [Haze of Rumbling Heavens]"

In an instant he disappeared from my vision, but I've seen this before. A slash came from below, cutting some of my hairs then the final slash came from above. I barely managed to block it with this guys massive strength.

"The fight is over. Victory to Lord Rimuru." The person who said that was.... Treyni. Where did she even come from? Was I so focused on the fight that I really didn't notice her?

"Hahaha! Well fought Rimuru, I can see now that you aren't an evil being." Everyone on my side seemed exasperated with the king. I basically told him from the very start.

"I am surprised that you know of the Art I used."

"Well, my teacher uses the same art when were training. So it was familiar to me thats all."

"Your teacher? Who is your teacher?" I was about to answer but thats when Hakarou came up to congratulate me.

"That was an excellent display of swordplay, Rimuru-sama."

"Are you the Sword Saint?" Hm. It seems that King Gazel is also familiar with Hakarou.

And so this first meeting came to a end, as it seemed King Gazel had more he wished to discuss with me.
