Hecate, Lady of Arcana

Taking a step back as my heart fell into my ass, Milim fell forwards from outside the window. She exclaimed as she fell forwards, her face slamming into the floor as her legs dangled up on the inner edge of the window. Shuna started to giggle, her right hand coming up to her mouth in an attempt to stifle it.

Myself? Well, I was laughing out a little, earning a small pout from Milim who easily stood up and dusted herself off. Just as I began to stop she beamed a smile at me, running up to me.

"I wanna join! Let me!" Her eyes were glowing a little in excitement as her hand fidgeted at her sides, the pink hair of hers softly bouncing up and down as she eased up and down on her toes. I looked away from her and to Shuna, my sweetie now openly chuckling as she stepped forwards, placing a hand on my shoulder.

"She can join us Silvi, she seems super happy to get to do something with you..." Milim's eyes slightly dropped until they were obviously on Shuna's hand. There wasn't any change in her attitude or body language but I had a feeling something had changed with her. I was weary of it but shrugged it off under the consideration that Milim had never shown any aggressiveness to me or the town. Even in the anime she was always friends with Rimuru. 

"I am fine with it, i just wanted to know if you'd be fine with it... Well then, Milim let's go."

"Yes!" She punched her hand upwards in excitement and started to buzz around me and Shuna, our journey to the training grounds beginning. Honestly the trip didn't take long and by the time we got there my dress had changed from the bright oranges and yellows of mid-day to the darker oranges and pinks. Milim loved my dress and continued to toy around with the edges of it.

"Now, I need to test my magic a little bit. Why don't you both do some physical training? Also, Milim, take it easy, okay?" The rather short 'girl' nodded her head vigorously as her incisor teeth slightly poked out from her closed mouth. Shuna and her then began to lightly spar, Milim blocking every blow easily as Shuna attempted to bust through her defences. It was impossible but would help her develop key skills in relation to spotting stance and other things. I was a little surprised also when Milim began to point out her flaws and lightly tapped her to make her realise it.

Milim was usually very playful and reckless but this time she seemed to be putting some seriousness into it. Maybe it was a part of her actual personality, the one locked behind her trauma. 

'Get your mind into the game Silviana...!'

"Shuna-san! Don't try to tickle me, we are here for training...!" It took all of my willpower not to turn around and see what the two were doing. I had to hurriedly focus on my magic, unfortunately for me that was going to be very hard to do.

"Ohhh! Interesting move you are using! Not gonna work though." I heard steel snapping as a dull thud of a weapon striking earth resounded. I turned, worrying that she had gone too far but I just saw Milim in a combat stance with Shuna holding half of her weapon's handle.

'Holy shit... Why did she go from 0 to 100?'

"Milim, are you taking it easy?" She turned to me and looked a little nervous, her bright blue eyes radiating some worry.

"Of course! I- I was just showing Shuna that her move exposed herself too much...!" Her words hung on the air for a few seconds than they should have, Shuna looking at her with a pout on her face. Facepalming I couldn't believe that Milim couldn't even behave for a few seconds.

"Ughhh! How about this, you fire small magic blasts at Shuna and she can learn to deflect them or counteract them... When I say small, I, Mean, Small, got it?" Milim began to sweat a little before nodding vigorously. She knew that honey was on the line and that if she hurt Shuna or mistreated her I wouldn't be happy. Food was a hell of a motivator it seemed.

Turning around slowly, dragging my eyes over Milim and Shuna, I eventually got back to practicing my magic.

My vision was suddenly swimming in an inordinate amount of colours. I could see the Magicules floating through the air as well as the particles of dust that were flung around on the breeze. Pork, it smelt like pork despite the fact that I was a few kilometres away from any cooking meat, let alone Pork specifically. The taste in my mouth was also weird, I could feel the texture of my saliva as it lightly pooled in the back of my mouth. Small scraps of food that were stuck to my teeth now enlightened me to how truly delicious the food I had eaten was.

It was surreal. This wasn't even mentioning the vision changes that I was experiencing. I noted several undulating waves of magic in the atmosphere of the Forest. Many were green and seeped into the very ground, people and life of the environment. Some waves were blue and came in behind the wave of breeze that constantly pelted the town and clearing. Red suffused the upper parts of colour as the sun's brightness made everything slightly caste in its magical shadow. It was a rainbow spectrum and most were well hidden behind prominent colours.

The strange urge to caste magic came over me and I lightly started a fire, the very magicules around my hand moving and changing to become more orange-red. As the colour increased so too did the heat, along with it a small change in my environment as my own colours began to take a more red hue as if to match with the element I was using.

'This is my Avatar Unique Skill yes?' I played around a little more, controlling some wind and lightning, finding that with each new element my body seemed to perfectly tune itself to that element. Maybe Avatar was lessening the MP cost for elemental spells? Perhaps, but I wasn't too convinced, there must be some other meaning to this. I began to hunt for an answer, but in the ten to twenty minutes I spent I found none.

'This is just pissing me off... Phew, let's learn about the new Unique Skill first... It sounds kinda special like Rimuru's Raphael...' I looked at my Status Screen and gawked at some of the new Titles I had gained.

'Nope, I am good, I'll keep it!' Rip-off sighed heavily as his voice faded out, his cat body disappearing behind the status screen as if he was sick of shit and wanted to go to sleep. In response I ignored the act and continued to scan my status screen. 

It seemed I had gained some new skills as well as expanded some of the sections out into a more definitive division. Intriguing although the changes may be but I was more concerned around the newly gained Unique Skill.

'Rip-off, what are the abilities of my new Unique Skill?' he didn't even answer, the text just appearing on top of the status sheet like it was a personal message on discord. He was certainly over my bullshit at this moment...

Passive: Superhuman senses, detecting subtle changes in the environment.

Active: Focuses senses to see through illusions, hear distant whispers, and sense hidden threats.

Mystic Conduit:

Passive: Channels magical energy efficiently, making spells cheaper and stronger.

Active: Draws power from the environment to boost own magic or transfer energy to allies.

Veil of Hecate:

Passive: Protective aura against curses and magical manipulation.

Active: Creates a barrier to shield against magical attacks and obscure presence from enemies.

There will be further Abilities Once Silviana has become a Demon Lord, Or, Exceeds a certain bracket of Power.

The text was right in front of me but I could barely believe it. Who would think that I'd gain my own Raphael-like skill, and this early on? Although it wasn't actually as powerful as Raphael and was very basic in a lot of its abilities in comparison, it was still a very convenient and powerful Unique Skill. In fact, as I was reading this I could even sense a distant danger approaching closer to Tempest, one from the south west and another from within the Forest. The danger in the South West was more subdued, more reticent towards us... The one in the forest was more malevolent and uncaring.

'Charybdis, hahaha, the fools already become part of it!'

I chortled a little as I felt that, the entire sensation akin to a sixth sense. My ears twitched and I turned in response, seeing Milim and Shuna both looking at me.

"Sorry, i just found something out..." Shuna nodded at me while Milim looked as if she wanted to ask me what it was, her body language obviously showing her excitement over what I had found and what I was talking about. Unfortunately for her I wasn't going to speak on it and I went back to my things.

I heard a stamp of a foot and the subsequent detonation of a small patch of dirt, yeah she was a little frustrated. Spinning around I walked over and began to tell them about some cool stuff about what I had just figured out. My Enhanced Senses being what I told them of, of course.

'Now I just need some more magic and stuff, then I can be confident in versing Charybdis.'
