A long line of people filed in front of Mgronald's, making the infamous fast food chain jam-packed with customers today as well.

A small smile swept across Sadao Maou's face as he flipped the fries onto another tray to cool off, preparing for another batch to fry. It was hard work that he wouldn't have considered a few months ago, a menial job that the likes of him wouldn't dream of doing. Yet with all said and done, he was quite contended working at a fast food restaurant. Plus, it wasn't as if he had given up his conquest of taking over Ente Isla either.

In reality, he had set his sights on a far grander scale -- to conquer both Japan and Ente Isla!

'As expected of Maou-sama,' his surbodinate, Ashiya, would probably exclaim about his infinite wisdom if only he was here right now.

While this would typically be beggar's belief, he was actually a legitimate, bona-fide Demon Lord from another world. Although it doesn't look the part from how you look at him, Maou could actually level an entire city in the blink of an eye at his full power... Not that he would actually do such a thing willy-nilly, after all he still had his principles despite being a demon through and through.

Right now, though, those things weren't important. Maou had to pull through with their campaign to achieve the targeted sales, otherwise he feared that his boss might relegate him somewhere in Greenland. That wasn't the kind of glorious end he was looking forward to see.

Flipping another batch of fries---

「Welcome to the Multiversal Chat Group!」

「A trans-universal messaging app that connects individuals across different realities, one that bridges the gap between the boundaries of universes. Do you wish to join?」

「Yes」「No」

Maou freaked out and raised the chip pan as the holographic display popped into view. In his panic, some of the piping-hot oil spilled onto his skin.

"That hurts!" Maou suppressed a groan from leaking as he kept his tear from falling. Fortunately, he managed to save the fries from toppling all over the place, giving him some relief. "What the hell..."

Maou widened his eyes as soon as he got a better look on the screen. It didn't seem like a product from Ente Isla and most definitely not of this world either, that much he can be certain of. He couldn't feel any magic emanating from its appearance nor is this world's technology capable of producing such a thing. Granted, the concept already exist but only on theory and mostly movie films. Hence, Maou doubted what ever he was seeing right now.

"Maou-san, is something wrong? I heard a yell just now..."

Maou darted his eyes towards a head that popped from a corner, trying to contain his finding. Luckily, it didn't seem like Chiho is able to see the screen which saved him the trouble of explaining what the heck this thing was.

"It's alright Chiho, I just stubbed my toe everything's fine," Maou gave an awkward smile as Chiho sent him a suspicious look. "More importantly, you should get back to work."

"If you say so..." Chiho retracted her head and greeted the next customer in line.

Seeing that he's a dodged a bullet, Maou sighed in relief and looked back at the hologram. His brows furrowed as he read the content on the screen, especially about the part where it connects individuals across different realities. If that were true, then whoever sent him this notice must have knowledge of different worlds. That, and they must possess potentially strong power considering that this being can manifest something out of thin air in a world that doesn't have any magical power to speak of.

'Should I accept...? Eh, why not?' Maou flippantly pressed the「Yes」button. He has already guessed that if the person who sent him this invitation were hostile to begin with, they wouldn't have started with an introduction. Plus, whatever knowledge he can gather from this group chat might prove more beneficial in the long run, especially in regards to how he can find a way to replenish his power.

================================================================

It was yet another listless day in Yorozuya, Gintoki was busy picking his nose as he stared off into the ceiling while trying to stave the boredom.

"What a pain..." Gintoki muttered absentmindedly. He just remembered how he lost all of his money on pachinko and now the landlady wouldn't get off his back trying to get him to pay this month's rent. If only the old hag could understand how business was slow these days, then he wouldn't be facing any problem at all.

"Close, closer..." Gintoki dug deeper into his nose as he felt a big one tucked right in the corner. Slowly, his finger inched deeper and deeper when...

「Welcome to the Multiversal Chat Group!」

「A trans-universal messaging app that connects individuals across different realities, one that bridges the gap between the boundaries of universes. Do you wish to join?」

「Yes」「No」

"AHHHHHHHHHHH!" The sudden noise made Gintoki scab his nasal cavity by accident. Now, his pinky finger was stuck as his nose bled profusely.

"You're kidding..." He gulped, it just dawned on him that his finger wouldn't budge at all. "It won't come off!"

"Gin-chan, what's wrong!? Oh... your finger is stuck, let me help you!" The shoji door suddenly opened, revealing a girl with orange hair in a Chinese dress. It looked like help just arrived, though from the look of horror on his face, it seemed like she was by far the last thing he wanted to see. Before Gintoki could even say something, the girl had already approached him.

"Idiot, you just made it worse!" Gintoki cried as Kagura lodged his arm on the wrong direction, making a sound that one shouldn't normally hear.

"Ah, I got the wrong direction," Kagura flatly said, as if the pain and suffering showing on his face didn't register in her mind. "Let me fix it."

"You idiot, stop!" Gintoki tried to run away to no avail. The little girl was too fast for her own good, it didn't even take a moment for her to catch up to him, grasping him by the neck. In the ensuing scuffle, Gintoki accidentally pressed the「Yes」button without intending to do so.
