Something isn't right

[Yuito's POV]

"So can you speak?" I asked the girl sitting opposite to me. She had a beautiful straight black hair that looked brown when the sun hit it.

Her eyes were yellow but had an orange hue that made it quite remarkable. One would not forget her eyes when they saw it.

She wore Sumire's clothes which fit almost perfectly on her except she was skinnier than Sumire. She had busts almost the same as my seductress of a mother, but with her skinny frame, they looked bigger.

I waited for a second, then five, and then ten. I got no answer, as she only tilted her head.

"You can understand me at least right? Nod if you can." I said and after a moment, she nodded hesitantly.

It seemed like she could not speak and could only understand my words. If someone were to be in the same situation as me, they would think that Kurumi was a normal wolf who suddenly had the power to shapeshift.

I would've thought so too if I didn't have the motherfucking author on my side.

'Are you sure it's her?'

{Yup, no doubt about it. She is Yuki from an anime movie called 'Wolf's children' and she has been both a human and a wolf all her life. But at the end of the movie, she chose to be a human while her brother chose to be a wolf. I don't know how she ends up here as your pet.}

I really wished I knew what anime she was from but I was never into anime movies, much less a slice-of-life one like 'Wolf Children.'

So I was blind on this one.

{Actually, she looked quite different from her anime counterpart as it showed only when they were children that is why I never realized it until now. But her wolf form remains the same, I could never mistake that orange wolf.}

I nodded at his words, trusting my friend's words over the acting presented before me.

"So, what is your real name Kurumi?" I asked again to which she just gave me the dumb eyes. 'Didn't I just tell you I can't speak?' her expression said.

"I know you can speak." I said, and it was the truth. I did not need the author to realize this one because of last night.

"You were begging me last night remember?" I said and her eyebrows knitted in thought before she suddenly realized it and blushed deeply.

"'Master give me your seed~'" I repeated what she said last night, mimicking her voice.  She blushed even harder and looked down at the floor which suddenly became very interesting.

"'breed me~-" I was going to continue teasing her but she slammed her hands on the table.

"OKAY!! Stop it! You made your point. I can speak!" She screamed in shame before quickly hiding her face with her hands.

"Hah! I knew it!" I said with a victorious smirk. "Okay explain yourself."

I leaned back on my chair and folded my arm. "What are you really?"

She sighed and stooped acting autistic and behaved like a normal girl her age. She looked at me with her intense eyes before she replied.

"Warewolf, shapeshifters, witches, etc. They have called us by many names but my mother would call us wolf children." She said, "My father was supernatural but my mother was a human." 

I noticed how her tone became strange whenever she talked about her mother. But I was more interested in what she was saying as it confirmed the author's words.

"And your name?"

"Kurumi."

"I mean your real name."

"Kurumi."

"The name you had before you met me." I said, her real name was Yuki but I wanted to hear it from her.

"Doesn't matter, I am Kurumi."

I tried to rebuke again but stopped myself at the last minute. It was weird how she refused to say her name. Maybe she was afraid that I would find out about her real identity with her name or maybe there was something more to it.

Nevertheless, something was telling me to stop pursuing the subject.

"Fine. How and why did you end up with me?" I asked with curiosity.

"It is just as you know, I was alone and had nowhere else to go. And you picked me up and I became yours." She said and I couldn't help but blush a bit when she boldly said she was mine.

There was a silence after her words and I just looked at her carefully. She was visibly uncomfortable and would peek at me from time to time but other than that, she preferred looking at the ground.

"What happened yesterday..." She stuttered and gulped. "It was a mistake. I was in my mating heat and I couldn't control myself. It will not happen again." she said and touched her belly.

"You said it was a mistake but I finished inside you, multiple times." I said, "What if you are pregnant?"

She blushed deeply but otherwise shook her head, "That will not happen. You see, the chance that our kind could reproduce with a human is very low. Even the fact that my mother had us was a miracle. So you don't have to worry, it won't happen." 

She looked oddly sad when she said it wouldn't happen. I sighed in relief, I was worried that the first shots I had before I got the fertility control skill might've knocked her up but I see it wouldn't.

"I hope this changes nothing between us." She said and I could hear the hopeful spark in her voice. "I am a werewolf but I have decided to be a wolf rather than a human. So please don't treat me differently."

I looked at her in disbelief, what did she mean 'I hope this changes nothing between us.'?  It changes everything!!

But I didn't say that, instead I said, "Of course. If that's what you want."

"Then..." She said softly and got off her chair and turned into a wolf. She slipped out of the clothes she wore and slowly approached me.

Her steps were doubtful as she came towards me. i looked at her and thought deeply for a moment before I gave in and out my hand forward.

Kurumi was quick to rub herself on my hand and got up on my lap. I rubbed her hair and mane like I usually did. 

It felt like two different people when she was a wolf and a human. I softly rubbed her ears and gave her a kiss on the head.

"Good girl." 

Her tails wagged excitedly and I smiled at her. 

A part of me wanted to forget last night and act as normal. I did not want to lose the relationship we already had as a pet and her owner.

She was my lovely wolf pet and loyal friend. But no matter how much we pretend or try to forget, nothing could ever be the same again.

I could never see her the same again. right now, I am just playing along with her because I knew there was something wrong with her.

No matter how you think about it, something was not right.

Who the fuck would willing to be a pet of someone else? Especially when she used to live as a human. It got stranger the more I thought about it.

And the way she avoided the questions about the past and her strange tone when she mentioned her mother, everything was strange and I had some clue about it.

Her mother was probably dead. 

I heard from the author that her brother left the family to live his life as a wolf and her father died when she was young.

That means that she only had her mother and more likely than not, she died too.

I looked at her again as she snuggled into my arms like a sweet dog, I rubbed her ears and scratched her chin.

'Is this your way of coping for the loss?'

I don't think she even realized how weird of a situation we were in. Likely if felt normal for her to act like this since her brother also chose to be a wolf, what is the problem if she did the same?

Whatever it was, I know things ain't right. 

And I need to fix it.
