Chapter 06 - Dramatic Story

It was after midnight and  royal palace was heated by certain news. Whether the wind flew through tanks around Anuradhapura cooled down the whole area, all people in Kings' bedchamber were showered with sweat.  "Do you that escape news of Vasambha named guy is true ?" king Subha shouted to the people in room. "Yes , your majesty. The nephew of north general , named Vasambha has escaped from his uncle and soldiers " the grand commander told while stammering. "Is that meaning, that guy is from Lambhakanna noble clan? Isn't it?" the king asked the grand commander. " Yes, your majesty. "Grand commander replied." Yes! You only have to say yes...what a grand commander… things happened to this extent now you only have to say yes…." King shouted grand commander while throwing a clay pot near to his bed in front of the grand commander. Pot was broken apart into many parts and people were all scared off by the king's behavior. Apart from Wasdhadurawa village he got secret massive of ending up several Vasambha's namesake people . After hearing these news, King only tried to get good sleep without worry. It was at that time one of the soldier sent the message of this escape to the king. Hearing that king erupted like a volcano and threw everything near to him at the people in the room. As well as he asked the grand commander and chief of the royal spy organization to ask about further information about this incident.  " How could that happen? Explain to me all " king asked people in the room.

"Your majesty, here is the thing. General of the north area never thought to betray you. He is the person who made a plan for Hanover his nephew. This plan was a very secretive one and it was only known few people. Unfortunately, his wife was one among them. On the way general took his nephew to handover him over to us, he remembered he had not taken lime in his beetle box. As we heard his beetle box arranged by his wife. So we suspect it was a part of a plan to rescue the general's nephew. After knowing he had no chalk to chew beetle he send his nephew to his home to take chalk from his wife. At that time, his wife informed the plan of Hanover him to royal guards to Vasambha and he escaped with the general's wife" the grand commander explained to the king.

"Hoh, this is really like a dramatic story that likes to hear. Heroine wife, villain general and innocent nephew. What a nice topic. We can create nice drama. You can make a script and we can show it to others. Isn't it grand commander?" the king told sarcastically. All people in the room waited quietly and the grand commander lowered his head shamefully.

After some time king asked " Why? Are you all become deaf? Is anyone not found where they escaped?"

" Your majesty, they had found traces of them escaping to Dambhakolapatuna port. They had thought they are trying to escape to Pandya , Chera or Chola kingdom. So they checked every ship and boat that boarded at that time. Also they searched every boat that sailed on that day in north sea all day too " the grand commander told to the king. " Then, had they found him? "

" No, your majesty."

"So , are they escaped from country?"

"It is not like your majesty. There was not found any traces in those ships and boat. Also they searched whole north. But not found any traces of them there."

"So, where they went?" King asked. "We have no idea. But our army sure that they only took detour to port and never went there .But there still doubt about direction they really escape "

At that time chief of the royal spy organization greeted king and said " Your majesty , I think I have idea of where they headed "  "Oh! Tell me about that" king asked.

"I think they come to here , capital " Chief of royal spy organization told everyone. "What? It can't be. Why are they heading here? " the grand commander asked. "Didn't you hear that most dangerous place is the most safest place?"

"You are right. If your assumption is right, that guy has really have gut. He daring to come to under my wing directly. ' king told others. "Your majesty , I think they are hiding in somewhere of capital at this moment" chief of royal spy organization told to king. "Then find him. Search every corner of city. If  your speculation is become true .I will reward you handsomely " king told to chief.

"Thank you majesty' chief of royal spy organization greeted king and went out of the room quickly. "Grand commander I have not forget you. For this mistake I punish you now. You are demoted to general. Also, the person in the north will be dismissed from office and demoted to capital city troop caption. " King told to the grand commander who demoted into general status.

"Thank you majesty, your kindness " the previous grand commander thanked king and get off from the room and others also dismissed from room one after another only leaving king alone there.

King's bedchamber was regained their quietness and person in there was started to think some destined day in his memory again.
