Smile For The Camera, Apex!

Ethan, also known as the Apex Protector, had heard about Percepta's attempt to expand but instead of absorbing them into the organization they simply only became an extension.

Something that Ethan didn't have any problems with because he knew that he was strong enough to eliminate all and any threat that was directed at him.

He was known as the strongest superhero, and this reputation made supervillains flee at his sight because they knew only one thing awaited them if they fought him and that was death.

Ethan had grown bored, he felt like he was in a comic book where he was so overpowered that his power would never be questioned.

Ethan didn't like that he couldn't use his power as he pleased but he knew he couldn't.

"M-Mom! It's him! It's Apex Protector!" A child called out and Ethan quickly wore his happy face but this whole thing disgusted him.

"Hey there kid," Ethan greeted with a smile, the child was ecstatic, and his mother already had her camera out to take pictures.

Ethan carried the boy and his legs around his neck, allowing the boy to balance on his back.

And then camera flashes went crazy, he could swear this woman took over a thousand pictures in less than a minute.

Ethan dropped the child down, maintaining his child.

"Remember kid, always listen to your mom!" Ethan told the child, advising him because he knew he was his role model and that was what was politically correct to say.

The kid looked panicked upon hearing this and his mother quickly rushed over to grab him as she thanked Ethan before the conversation could go on.

"Wait," Ethan said and the woman had no choice but to obey because he was the Apex Protector, the most famous hero.

Ethan walked towards the child and his mother looked nervous, but there was nothing she could do to stop him. Mind you, this was something that Ethan had never done before because he wasn't interested in their personal lives.

Something he was advised to do was, each time he met a fan, his behavior was right out of a script written by Percepta but he was getting tired of being a puppet.

"Are you okay?" Ethan asked the child and he looked at his mother before returning his eyes to Ethan and nodding.

Ethan knew at that moment that he was anything but alright, Ethan smiled at the child before gesturing for his mother to follow him. Once again, she complied without complaint as a crowd was already gathering.

The boy watched Ethan talk to his mother from a distance and by the end of the conversation, his mother looked like she had just heard the scariest thing of her life before they returned to the boy.

"She won't hit you anymore, you have my word," Ethan said and the moment he said this, he felt an overwhelming wave of relief course throughout her body. The boy smiled brightly but this time, he could tell the boy was truly happy.

An explosion soon rocked a nearby building and a barrage of gunshots followed, Apex Protector knew he didn't need to interfere because this looked like a human issue but he was tired of sitting by watching innocent people die.

He took to the skies, a crater embedded on the floor he stood on moments ago showing the force he had used to lift off. Apex Protector tore through the air like a missile, and he was at the crime scene in mere minutes.

The building was burning and he saw gunmen in a shootout with police officers, he knew that they were used to stop supervillains or others with superpowers but what if he can prevent the loss of human life by intervening? Humans were fragile, they needed to be protected from…. themselves.

He swooped down, right in the middle of the shootout, bullets bouncing off his body.

The police as well as the criminals were surprised by his emergence, the Apex Protector.

They thought their eyes were playing tricks on them but this was no trick, he was there in the flesh.

The criminals immediately surrendered, and Ethan realized at this moment how easy humans were to tame.

The police quickly apprehended them, thanking Ethan for his help and the people around started taking pictures and videos of him.

This was it, this was the feeling he had been chasing. Why did superheroes only need to intervene when supervillains were involved?

People say humanity needs these events to evolve, and history supports this claim but he was the Apex Protector, the pinnacle of all and every evolution.

He was going to protect everyone, even if it meant halting this "evolution" of humanity.

Tee and Michael returned to their new home, there was silence all through but Michael was curious as to what his powers were because they had to be impressive for James to give that warning.

A similar warning was given by Tee about his brother but Michael began to think that they were underestimating him because he just started using his powers yet he had better control than the previous owner as that was the advantage of comprehending things at such an intricate level.

They noticed they weren't the only ones anymore, seeing an average-height, pale-skinned lady with multiple piercings, notably her nose and lower lips.

She was barely clothed, wearing a crop top to reveal her seductive fit stomach, and a belly button ring dangling from her navel.

Her breasts were nothing to fawn about but when she turned around, Tee knew he was sexually attracted to her because her ass was something straight out of a porno flick and the shorts she wore was barely covering them, exposing the under cheeks of her ass.

Michael, however, was uninterested in this but even he couldn't deny that this twenty-one-year-old lady was attractive, but what caught his attention was her buzzcut green hair.

Despite her rebellious outlook, she had a cute face that gave the opposite impression.

Michael hoped she wasn't a sociopath like Tee but he also hoped she wasn't as gullible as Elizabeth either.

"Hey you two shit fucks, I'm Megan…"
