A New Target!

The party advanced well into the day, Michael was having a blast by just eating and allowing his taste buds to experience different explosive mouthgasms but he wondered who Alex was.

Alex was the only person that caught his attention, but he had also lost track of Edward.

He darted his head left and right but couldn't see him anywhere, this was strange considering Edward had been with him throughout that day.

Michael didn't think too much about this and simply looked for the next food, the birthday cake hadn't even come out yet and Michael could feel his stomach poking out.

"Hey…" A voice greeted Michael, it sounded timid but more importantly, it was that of a girl.

Michael turned around with his face stuffed with food, he didn't put too much importance on social etiquette. Michael stared at her blankly, she had on medicated glasses and her voice matched her innocent appearance. She was on the cute side, and Michael found her a lot more attractive than Elizabeth.

He began to wonder if everyone here wanted to be villains as well, or if they even knew Elizabeth wanted to be one. Michael made her uncomfortable with how he stared and she soon broke eye contact, looking to the ground.

"Can I help you with something?" Michael requested, raising a brow in confusion at the girl's overall behavior toward him.

"I-I want to apologize for my older brother's rudeness…." The girl said, bowing her head in turn, Michael understood what she was doing but he knew it wasn't her responsibility.

"Are all rich people this dramatic?" Michael thought to himself, putting his hand on her shoulder.

"It's fine, I know he meant no harm. He just wanted to show off to his friends," Michael's voice was compassionate, which was strange considering the kind of person Michael was.

"Let's be friends, I'm Michael." Michael greeted her with a broad smile, the girl raised her head to meet his gaze.

"I-I'm Alice! How do you know Lizzy?" Alice started the conversation in earnest because she saw that Michael was reciprocating her energy so this made it easier to push past the awkward tension that existed moments ago.

"It's a secret, a secret I tell only my good friends…." Michael whispered with a finger over his lips, this only made Alice all the more curious but she didn't want to pry.

"But I think you and I will be very good friends, Alice," Michael said, Alice's face creased into a smile.

"I-I would like that," Alice responded but a sickening grin momentarily crept up on Michael's face, a face Alice didn't see. Michael, remembering he had a phone, took it out of his pocket to collect his new 'friend's' number.

Edward had gone to the toilet to take a piss, the space in this toilet was bigger than his parlor, he couldn't believe that toilets were made this big in the first place.

"Money does move mountains," Edward muttered but he noticed he wasn't alone in the bathroom. From the corner of his eyes, he saw Vlad.

"Um, can I get some privacy?" Edward asked but Vlad stared at him before saying.

"I was wondering why I was feeling uneasy…" Vlad said, invading Edward's personal space despite Edward being in the toilet.

"What are you talking about?" Edward wasn't following but it sounded like he was accusing him of something.

"I thought it was strange but it is you…." Vlad said without providing further context.

"Can I please get some privacy?" Edward politely asked once again but Vlad forcefully grabbed him by the neck.

"I have got my eyes on you! You and your friend!" Vlad warned but he saw something that forced him to let go of his neck, Edward's breathing became heavy but his eyes never once wavered in fear.

"Y-You! Who are you!?" Vlad looked visibly shaken by whatever it is that he had seen, but before Edward could properly introduce himself, Vlad left the toilet.

Edward squinted his eyes in suspicion, Vlad wasn't entirely off in his accusation and Edward was not as oblivious as he portrayed himself to be.

"I underestimated these people, I need to get Michael out of here before he finds out," Edward thought to himself but he found Vlad's last question bizarre.

"I'm not surprised you didn't know about it. No one truly takes time to appreciate the classics. It is a pity that the golden era has come to an end. I'm in no way surprised that a lady of your peculiar occupation is unaware of such delicate taste. Ladies would rather learn how to please a man sexually than mentally and this is why you're treated like an object. You thought I was going to rape you, didn't you?" The man spoke, Mrs. Michaelson was shivering because she knew the fate that awaited her if she couldn't get on his good side.

"I-I have a son! Please, I will do anything! I'm begging you! Let me go!" Mrs. Michaelson pleaded.

"Anything? You couldn't do the one thing I needed from you but tell me more about your son," The man said, Mrs. Michaelson noticed the corpses piled up on top of one another in the corner of the room. This man was a seasoned killer and she knew she had to remain calm.

"My son! He is my only child! I have a picture of him!" Mrs. Michaelson was desperate and the man was surprisingly calm, permitting her to show him a picture of her son.

He looked at the picture for a full minute, his name was written at the top of the picture, and the man took it all in right before cackling like a madman.

"I wonder if he can sing?" The man said with a menacing grin, right before slitting the throat of Mrs. Michaelson like his other victims, gurgling on her blood as tears welled up in her eyes.

The thought of leaving her son alone in this world broke her as she grabbed the shoe of the man but the life soon left her body.

"E-Edward…" She muttered but no words came out as her lungs were filling with blood and she was dead in no time.

Edward had lost the only parent he had left, for a boy that admires superheroes, the fate the universe had for him was rather bleak

Mrs. Michaelson had not only failed to protect herself, but now she had unknowningly put Edward on this killer's radar.
