Meeting the parents

After the movie we head back to the dorm room. I get ready for dinner with Tony's parents.

I'm wearing a cute outfit Alex helped me pick out. I have cute little pink earrings. Before I leave the bathroom I take a quick mirror selfie for my mom. I'm really nervous, but I look surprisingly good.

I hope his parents approve...

Tony's waiting for me outside of the bathroom...

"wow, you look amazing." he said pulling me close

"thanks" I give him a hug and kiss. We leave I drive all the way to his mom's house. She is cooking there. I'm so excited Tony tells me about his mom all the time. He respects his parents greatly. I don't know what I'll do if they don't approve, I don't know what he will do.

We pull up to a large house. It's beautiful.

We park in the driveway and he holds my hand as we walk to the door. He seems more nervous than me.

As the door opens his mother's over joyed smile changed as she looked at me.

"aww, who is this? " she asked trying to smile. "You didn't tell me you were bringing anyone."

"Mom, this is my girlfriend James."

"oh.. James," she said checking me out discreetly. "well come in come in. "

"thank you." I say pretending not to notice her disappointed.

She walks us into the settings room.

"please get comfortable, it will be awhile before foods done." As I look up I see a beautiful young lady setting down in the room. She looks like a model. Long beautiful dark brown hair. A beautiful tan complexion.

"oh that is my friend Marie. " his mother added before leaving the room. How are they friends she looks my age... maybe a little older but not much.

"hello." Tony and I said at the same time.

"Hi! Anthony it's nice to finally meet you your mother tells me all about you." She said smiling. Damn she is so cute. There is no way Tony doesn't think the same thing.

We set in awkward silence for a moment.

"So how do you know Tony's mom?" I ask

"I work at a doctors office in the same building.

She is a very sweet lady. Oh what was your name again?" she said she sweetly

"oh um I'm James." I'm getting nerves.

"How do you know Anthony?"

"we go to the same college." Tony replied, before I could open my mouth.

"So, have you worked for the doctor's office long?" I ask.

"No just a couple months. Before that I was a model believe it or not. It helped pay for med. school." some how it doesn't sound like she is bragging at all. Her voice is so gentle and sweet. Some how I'm not surprised at all. Still it hurts right now looking at the way Tony is looking at her.

"oh I can believe it your gorgeous." I smile. there is no use being bitter it's not her fault she's gorgeous, smart, and sweet. She's also not making Tony look like that... I just want this night to be over.

"here are some drinks and snacks." a man's voice said.

"Thank you Dad!" Tony said.

"Son come with me for a minute." he said.

The two of them were not far away. I hear them talking in Spanish.

"sight... I really need to learn Spanish." I say quietly.

"It is still rude to eavesdrop in Spanish" she said sarcastically.

It's clear to me this person doesn't like me but I don't know why.

The rest of the dinner goes smoothly but I can't shake this gloomy feeling growing in my heart. It's become very clear his parents don't approve of me. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. The rest of the night Tony didn't say we were dating again. Maybe it was just my imagination but Tony kept looking at Her. He's parents didn't ask anything about my goals, life, or family. As they talked anytime I said anything they changed the topic. This is turning into a nightmare. While Marie was asked questions and include in the conversation. His mother made the comment I wish I had a daughter like you. Talking to her.

I feel like I'm going to be sick and had only ate a couple of bites.

"excuses me, where is the restroom. "

"down the hall to the left, third door on the right. " his mother replied, Tony was not paying any attention to me.

I finally find the restroom. I wash my face and I look in the mirror.

"what's wrong with you? You love him right? Why is his parents acting like this? Who is this Marie? Why is she here? Pull yourself together your his girlfriend! " I tell myself quietly.

On my way back to the dinning room table I hear Tony talking, with Marie.

"So how do you really know that girl?"

"I met her at school."

"oh, so it's not like something serious?"

"well um..."

"here can you help me with this?"

yeah yeah I know eavesdropping is bad but I decide to spy.

I look in through the open door. He has his shirt off, and is setting on the bed facing the other way. He is unzipping the back of here dress. She turns around for a second I thought she might have seen me. I hide make behind the wall.

"what are you doing?" Tony

"what ever you want?" she giggled.

It's quite. I glance in and see her straddling him kissing him. He pushes her off on to the bed. I almost feel relieved. He then climbs over top of her and kisses her.

what !!!???!!!

What did he just do? I walked away.

Quietly, calmly I walked to the table to get me bag. My plate had already been cleaned off. They didn't even ask if I was done. I'm getting angry now.

"sorry, I must be leaving in afraid I've gotten sick." I say to his father

"ok bye"he responds.

I set in the car and text Tony.

(Hi babe sorry I have to leave early. think I got food poisoning at the Mall. I don't know but I'll see you at school. Sorry I couldn't find you or your mom after the restroom. Tell her bye for me. Have a good night.)

I don't want him to know that I know anything. I still don't know what I'm going to do.
