Chapter 8

"I don't think this is a good idea, Leo." Clark said hesitantly.

"Nothing will happen." Leonardo replied.

"Really? I like to think differently." Clark gulped awkwardly.

"Come on, you said the same about learning martial arts, self-studying engineering, coding, detective and forensic skills, and acting. So why are you giving up on me this time around?" Leonardo asked.

"Half those skills you studied at night when I was asleep." Clark pointed out.

"Clark, believe me. It will be fine, you got to believe in yourself more." Leonardo ordered.

"Do whatever, I am going to sleep for a while. I don't care, just don't get us in trouble." Clark grumbled.

A smile broke out as Leonardo grinned as his sandals touched the sand below his feet. Red and blue swim trunks as well as an umbrella and towel, Leonardo walked on Miami Beach. Where many cute girls in swimsuits gather as well as those he pretended not to see.

Looking over at the girls as he found a spot to put his stuff. Leonardo baked in the sun as he decided to use the weekend, a day after the Museum Incident to relax. For some reason, Sam Phelan, the detective who arrived at the scene, seemed to take an interest in him. As for why, neither he nor Clark knew, but Leonardo guessed it was linked to Lex directly or indirectly.

Which set Clark off, hence as a compromise Leonardo was allowed a day of free reign to unwind and do whatever. Since it's been over a month since he arrived and spent most of the time in the backseat or sleeping.

"Yeah, this is it," Leonardo yawned happily as he laid on the beach.

"Hey handsome. Do you want to come play with us?" Leonardo turned his head more curious about who was calling so loud, then thought someone was calling him out.

It is not that he thinks Clark's body isn't handsome, but he didn't feel it was at that level. Especially when he looks like a teenager where it can be a dangerous game of is he legal or not. So when he looked over, he saw a girl in a black bikini that was fairly fit and slightly blessed with moderate curves.

The girl had shoulder length black hair, slightly tan skin and dark eyes. While she was not goddess level, she was quite beautiful in his opinion as well around his age. Well Clark's age, but since Leonardo didn't have a body, he just took Clark age as his own.

Around the girl were a couple other girls and a few teenage boys who looked fairly fit. Looking around Leonardo pointed to himself making them laugh.

"If not you, who else?" The girl that caught his eye said.

"Ok, what are we playing?"

"Beach Volleyball." She said holding it up.

"You will have to teach me, I don't know how to play." Leonardo smiled walking over to join them.

"Oh, I think we can handle that."

--

While Leonardo was in Mami learning to play beach volleyball, back in Smallville. A storm was brewing as Lex Luthor and Sam Phelan were meeting each other.

"So care to tell me what is so special about this farm boy?" Sam Phelan put down a photo of Clark and Lex in front of a gemmed chest piece.

"I don't know what you're talking about." Lex denied after a moment.

"Well, let me jog your memory. Last night, outside the charity ball at the museum, a bus accident happened. As this boy was leaving, it occurred and he ran over to check if everyone was ok. Nothing wrong, but you began calling as if he did something wrong. So I decided to begin checking things and he has been to a awful few crime scenes in the last few months. Well, discounting this last month." Sam Phelan explained.

"Clark and few of his friends seemed to have the talent of getting themselves into trouble." Lex answered. "I figured for sure it happened again last night."

"Then it shouldn't be a problem for me to meet him."

Lex coldly stared at the man before him. "Stay away from him."

"Fine, fine. I will just have to find him myself." Sam Phelan stated as he turned and left.

--

"Come on, Leo! They're one point from winning."

On the beach, after getting a quick tutorial of the game. Leonardo was paired up with the girl who invited him, in which he learned was called Amelia. As for if that really her name, he wasn't sure because of a feeling he has.

Lightly jumping as he went to swatted the volleyball, he hit it but it hit just out of bounce. Losing the game, but he didn't care all that much. His goal is to have fun and he achieved it.

"So close." Amelia sighed with a smile.

"Win some, lose some." Leonardo smiled.

"Well, we could have a bit of fun to lessen the bitterness of losing." Amelia grinned as the ones they were playing left.

As it turned out, Amelia was the one that invited a few other girls and guys to play some volleyball. So after a few waves everyone separated to do their own thing. Most likely to find something to eat or play in the ocean since it's been a few hours.

A smirk formed on Leonardo's lips as he looked Amelia over. "I'm game if you are."

After packing away his stuff in a rented locker, Leonardo changed into casual clothes as did Amelia. For they began to walk the streets looking at various stores from clothes to game stores. They just wandered as the sun began to set.

"You know, today was fun." Amelia said almost sadly as the sun got closer to setting.

"I certainly agree, but you don't need to sound so sad. There will always be another day." Leonardo agreed as they walked by a fountain.

"Mmm," Amelia agreed. "You will do a great many things, Leonardo. Both you and Clark will."

Leonardo paused in his steps as he looked at the girl next to him. Her smooth black hair gained a small shine as her tan skin lightened to a deathly pale as her clothes changed into a gothic dress as a pendant that was previously hidden appeared just above her cleavage.

"Death of the Endless, I didn't expect to meet you." Leonardo murmured.

She isn't really well known outside of the comics and the only reason Leonardo knew about her. It is because he found her in a fanfiction and after looking her up, took a great liking to her character design. Thus added her to his list of waifus.

"Everyone meets me twice in their life, from the moment they are born and when they die." Amelia or Death answered. "Do you know how surprised I was when you appeared? Very few like you appear in this universe in the past few million years."

"So is that why you came and spent the day with me? All to meet me?" Leonardo asked.

"Yep," Death smiled. "Are you disappointed I didn't give you some grand goal or mission you need to complete?"

"Not really." Leonardo smiled slightly relieved on that part.

He didn't want to do some grand mission or some goal forced upon him. Though he doubted just coming to spend the day with him was Death's real motive. However, he chose not to dwell on it since trying to guess what the woman who oversees death is thinking. He felt like anything else is easier to understand.

"Well, cutie. It's time for me to leave. I can't wait to see you in your own body." Death said as she vanished.
