CHAPTER 9

He had 6 blank points on his person according to the system. What he lacked now was speed.

It would be foolish to spend on attack power as it was already comparable to a person who hypothetically levelled up 8 times, gained 16 black points and just spent it on attack power.

he used 4 of his blank points and put 3 of those in speed and one of those in stamina and thus those stats looked like this:

[STAMINA] [2-->3]

[SPEED] [2-->5]

His blank points again came back to 2 .

After distributing his points I began moving. I used my [THE SHADOW SENSE] which greatly hid my presence . I did so so I could sneak up on those demons.

This was an alley so the buildings were quite close. I chose a big building and started climbing it like a mad man.

Once reaching the top I surveyed down. The girl was holding on still. she was having a weapon, probably brought it somewhere on the shop or could have took it from the demons they had slain.

I too had bought a basic sword in the system stop which was available for 150 currencies.

The people who embezzled currencies from others would have already bought it in a hurry and tested it.

When I held it my hand , it felt nothing but an ordinary sword depicted in the medieval series.

I then after ensuring the powerful demon came to a stop activated my [THE CURSE OF THE SHADOW] and literally jumped down in a straight line holding my sword downwards.

If this connected then it would be a decisive blow as it would directly go through his brain. An instant kill.

But it didn't go as expected. Even though his speed was 3 points much lesser than mine it moved at the instant when I was about to land ,by chance. The scene almost looked comical especially to those humans who looked it from behind.

Just I was about to hit the ground I shifted to the sword right and landed on my left shoulder.

I was instantly reduced hp of 10 Due to the fall damage. My shoulder got hurt but I didn't feel any major pain due to the high defence I was currently having.

I slowly stood up and patted out the dust in my clothes and positioned myself. The demons unconsciously had moved back to some distance.

"Who the hell is he?" questioned a girl one of the humans as she was bewildered by the man who just dropped from the sky like he was lightning.

Just as she was trying to comprehend the situation , the top demon questioned Karthikeyan

"Nice try there. You could have killed me if I didn't get out of the way at the right time" the top demon called Lessilius began

"Hmm thats right but I do regret it though, so I would like to finish this battle as soon as possible" Replied Karthikeyan.

"You sure talk boldly for a man who just hides his face on the battlefield. If you are a warrior reveal your face and fight me" Lessilius was trying to lure the man to show his face.

"If I would show my face so easily , what of my purpose to wear it? why wear it in the first place?" Questioned Karthikeyan

Lessilius didn't reply and took his battle stance. If he were to waste his time chatting to this man without any purpose he would be pushed behind other demons in terms of rankings.

He had to get points if he wanted to ascend and be treated like the top echelons of the demon hierarchy. Just by thinking of it he was feeling extreme emotions .

Karthikeyan also knew that he couldn't joke around anymore. Without turning around and while also taking his stance he told the humans

"You just take rest or hide inside buildings , you are quite hurt . Also take your guy friend , I will take care of these dudes"

After telling that he gripped his sword on his right hand firmly and horizontal wall ran on the nearest wall and hit a level 2 demon on the right.

The demon managed to block the hit on the right time but Karthikeyan's speed was too much. He took a step back bent a little and pierced his sword right in the abdomen .

The demon spat out blood. The other demon on the left didn't stand idle and began to move.

Karthikeyan took the sword out of the demon's abdomen and the demon after coming close struck his sword slantingly from right to left.

Karthikeyan just did an half pirouette and the sword missed him just slightly. While he was rotating he also swung his sword in motion connecting with the head of the demon beheading him.

He just stood there with motionless eyes. He just killed other life forms and that too a higher one just like humans. He was not feeling well. He was somewhat dizzy but controlled himself.

He glanced at the demon leader who was standing back seeing the scene.

TOP DEMON'S POV:

The top demon wanted to see what the lad was capable of. He was a worthy opponent indeed.

If he were to kill him , his demon exp will increase dramatically.

He awakened very late at the age of 18. Usually every being in the universe including humans awakened at 13 and some rare ones at 10.

Even after awakening he was cursed and was only able to gain less exp compared to others. The demon system cursed him. This put him in a disadvantage.

He was now 21 and just at level 3 as he never got the chance to enter the enemy kingdom.

These levels he had gained by completing quests assigned by others to him. Highly ineffective . Thats why he had compensated this by training harder than others. He was jealous of everyone who had a talent .

The hatred he had for humans was high and this bastard in front of him had not only killed his friends who he had been with since childhood but also had more talent than the previous humans he fought with.

This man 's speed he observed was close to his , if not greater than his. Definitely he had to be above level 3 or somewhere close.

For a human who just awakened , this was a huge thing. He probably defeated a more powerful demon than him on his way here.

He couldn't fool around , he knew. He took his battle stance , and rushed at Karthikeyan , his sword aimed at his chest.
