CHAPTER 25
The night went and the day came---
Karthikeyan sharpened his sword.
The one thing he regretted coming to this dungeon with a party was that he couldn't use his [ANCESTRAL SKILL] [TRUE RISER] skill. Truly a pity.
It was such an op skill that if someone saw it they would probably go crazy and cause him troubles and of course he didn't want that to happen.
Finally finished sharpening his sword he stood up and did his usual warmups before proceeding with this team further into the dungeon.
Everyone around didn't sit idle as well, just like him they were making their own preparations and soon they were on their way.

"35 demons camping ahead" a man who probably was a scout told through his walkie talkie.
The walkie talkie he had in his hands was a special one as it could adapt to the frequencies emitted from the dungeons and could be used to communicate. It used mana.
Normal walkie talkies didn't unfortunately worked inside dungeons.
"35 demons ?" Sophia exclaimed in shock
"Its nothing surprising, expecting it is a higher levelled dungeon" Michael said while shaking his head in defeat.
Suddenly the aura around him changed. The mana around him moved. If there was any ounce of carelessness left in his previous demeanour , it all disappeared now. In a serious tone , he commanded
"Guys , formation."

"What a bummer" said a demon who looked like a typical elf to a demon who looked like a human.
Knowing what he meant by a bummer , he just silently shook his head in agreement.
For all this time , he and his elf friend had been put in watch out for the defence in the village, but now they had been sent in the front lines for attacking the humans that had recently infiltrated the territory.
Although his unit wasn't an important one and couldn't be considered as part of other units, they were just cannon fodder that would provide for defence if any unit was under scrutiny.
Thats because they were a Cavalry unit and had high mobility.
Each one of them was equipped with an equipment that more or less accurately measured the levels of the enemy they were fighting.
"Don't know why the higher-ups gave us this equipment instead of the other units. " Said the human demon.
"Probably , they thought because we could cover lot of area and thus see the different enemies."
"Thats actually dumb"
"Yeah who cares" the elf replied standing up " As long as we kill the humans...." as soon he was going to finish his sentence.
The air whistled . Projectiles seemed to tear through the air and come towards them
But , as soon as they realised what happened , it was too late.
A barrage of arrows was shot towards them at fast speeds.
Before he knew it , the elf's life came to and end as an arrow had pierced his heart.
Blood spattered everywhere especially on the human's face as he was close to him.
His eyes shot up and his adrenaline pumped.
Soon enough he heard the announcement he already knew
"An ambush!! An ambush! hold yourselves!!!" a shout was soon heard across the plains.
Soon he looked up the ridge from where the arrows came from and soon after some figures holding weapons started to appear.
"An ambush from up the field , it is the worst a Calvary could fight" he cursed in his head.
And also the worst thing was that some of the horses were even killed and some were running amok from the commotion .
He thought for an escape , behind him , the sight was covered with trees but soon he would reach the walls of his town , but his commander would charge him for desertion and put him on trail.
That was the scariest part of the new commands imposed by Jacob , the commander in general overnight.
It had commands that basically meant overwork and trial if found deserting.
If he flanked to the side , he would soon reach a hill but would soon run out of food and probably run into other humans.
He would have directly charged the humans bravely if not for the fact that more than 15 of his comrades laid dead because of the ambush in just second's time.
Gulping , he soon took out his sword and sat on top of a horse.

Karthikeyan soon dodged a raider whose raiper was aimed straight aimed at his heart by moving to the left.
The pursuer on top of the horse skilfully turned his horse and once gain initiated the attack
The air around him moved but Karthikeyan was not scared.
He skillfully deflected the sword with this sword and quickly moved to the side so he could attack from the mounter's exposed side.
As expected because of his speed , he soon was able to hit the rider on his waist and soon he dropped down with a groan.
Seeing him hanging on to life by a thread , he ended his suffering by just slitting the throat , giving him death.
"But , thats not a way of giving a painless death" he inwardly thought to himself.
Just when he wanted to give a painless death but soon went against his words.
It was one of his biggest flaws---
He was not allowed to rest as soon two cavalry charged on to him by the side in a x fashion.
He also saw a man behind injured but still loading up his musket and taking aim on him.
Seeing where he was aiming and correctly guessing his timing he soon attacked the horse on his left in its leg causing it to slide .
The rider on its back had the worst day in his life as his own comrade's bullet pierced his skull.
Due to horse sliding the other horse coming in another direction soon halted neighing with its legs up.
Using this opportunity , Karthikeyan stabbed the horse and using it as a support kicked his enemy right in his face causing him to fall down.
By now the musketeer in the back was long eliminated and in fact the man who fell off was the last one in the unit.
Soon he was surrounded by the all the other members of Karthikeyan's squad.
