CHAPTER 15

"Purple eyes , huh" Simon pondered.

For sometime where silence prevailed and everyone was observing if the two entities would do suddenly something funny, Simon then finally spoke to break the silence.

"You two over there , are you perhaps approaching us ?" he asked in such a tone which didn't appear too aggressive or too passive. He set the tone such that the question needed an answer.

Karthikeyan who was approaching them stopped midway when they were just 5 meters away.

"Yeah , but we are here to just talk ." he said while putting up his hand up depicting the surrender gesture.

Karthikeyan didn't appear as someone who was inexperienced . He was giving off a very strong vibe and Simon believed that he was probably around his level or even higher.

His teammates were around the level 5 mark , only one nearing level 6 and therefore nearly matching his skills. He was the strongest one in the team currently .

But alas they didn't know that Karthikeyan was level 10.

 But nevertheless , If they were some team that just formed yesterday , he could have stayed nonchalant and just focused on his defence , but all these 3 persons were his colleagues and have been together for 2 years forming a very close bond. He couldn't afford to lose them.

"And your motive ?" Simon asked .

" Nothing , just curious if you all are from the hamlet ?" Karthikeyan asked .

"And what if we were?"

Karthikeyan couldn't understand why this dude was being so rude to him. He was just there to talk after all.

"Is my presence , is it uncomfortable to you guys?" he asked with fake concern.

"Yes, it is and its only reasonable that if someone gives off the same powerful vibes as our leader, hides his face and is very suspicious , we would be very wary."

"Especially those purple eyes , I have never seen one in my entire life."

Karthikeyan looked at the women who just answered . She was the woman who was previously talking to Simeon and nodding her head as though they were in agreement .

"Its pretty understandable that you guys are wary of strangers" Began Karthikeyan " especially when you know the chances of them doing something harmful is very high and I highly respect that"

Seeing karthikeyan acting all understandable , their suspicions only got strengthened . Seeing this was getting nowhere , Yerilia stepped forward and pushed Karthikeyan aside.

"Guys , we are not here to harm you or rob you guys of your possessions . We are just heading towards the hamlets and were just curious if you were headed for the same way" Yerilia asked with a charm . Her feminine body language was definitely working out as the tense atmosphere suddenly reduced .

All the teammates looked at Simon to see what he would do. He looked back at them , stood up and slowly approached Yerilia.

Karthikeyan who stood to the side was slightly less taller than him . It could be attributed to his young age. He was about 6 foot 2.

"And you guys , you are headed there?" he asked

"Yes "

"Then I would suggest you to not."

"Why?"

"The hamlets are already cleared and fully taken care of , even if you got there for getting scraps , I highly doubt that you would be able to even get that ."

Karthikeyan and Yerilia looked at each other .

"You mean all the 39 hamlets are cleared? " Yerilia asked

"Yes."

Karthikeyan bumped in the conversation.

"And how can we be sure that you are not misguiding us ?"

"Huh? what's that? you guys were the ones who asked us for information and we were just telling you that . Now you are telling that we are misguiding you ? what irony. " Simon said with a calm but an arrogant expression.

Of course Karthikeyan was just joking around. But suddenly Karthikeyan seemed to hate the arrogance of the man in front of him . All he wanted to do now was punch him in the face. Karthikeyan felt that his ego was fragile.

Worrying if Karthikeyan would do something , Yerilia stared at him angrily . Just because someone was rude to him , he just couldn't go around picking up fights , especially when they didn't know about their opponents and were outnumbered.

After some silence Yerilia thanked Simon and walked away with Karthikeyan who still was having some bitter expression .

Even Karthikeyan couldn't understand why he was feeling like this. Before this he never cared if someone was arrogant or not , but now he was feeling unprecedented anger ? He didn't know if he had a fragile ego like this.

Yerilia on their way just lectured him and told him to pick fights when he was alone and not with her. Even if she rejected all connections , for just being with him she would be targeted as well and she didn't want that.

3 hours later---

Yerilia and Karthikeyan who didn't want to explore the hamlets just returned back to the city and were shocked to see that renovations were under way and that almost 99 percent of demons were eliminated .

"Did everyone receive top talents ?" Karthikeyan questioned himself.

After this , they didn't have anything to do anymore and after observing for sometime they would just dive into the dungeons but alone .

"Good luck on your journey ." Karthikeyan said with a nonchalant tone when they were standing in the middle of nowhere which was once filled with buildings and people.

Yerilia looked at him and just replied with a nod.

Karthikeyan then removed her from the party and just started walking on his way back home . He didn't even add her as his friend nor did Yerilia either in the system or through phone.

Yerilia knew that going with Karthikeyan would have many benefits but again she was not ready to face the troubles.

Not to mention she was still very immature and confused in her mind. All the people close to her were dead and she had no place to go. Her mind was a big mess right now and all she wanted to do was to sort out this messy mind and become stronger so she could protect herself.

At least, that was her current motive.

Befitting this , as soon as she sensed tension brewing between Karthikeyan and the blond haired guy , she immediately stepped in and dispersed the tension.

She then also turned around and headed to somewhere she didn't know.

But she didn't know that fate would have something else in store for her...

"Mom , dad Im home " Karthikeyan announced when he opened the door and entered his home . It was silent with no one to be seen in the living room.

After hearing no responses , he went inside and saw them both sleeping on the couch like a log, very tired.

Seeing this he couldn't help shake his head and helped them by putting a blanket on them . He then went to his room.

Even though his clothes were dirty , he didn't care about it and just jumped on the bed and put his mask aside.

From the corner of the room he sensed some ominous vibes.

The shadow body of probably no mass which spent its entire time monitoring his parents and keeping a watch just stood there as though it was waiting for the next commands.
