Body Refinement Realm

Tell me already!

*************************

Seasons moved on and times changed.

Standing outside in a small courtyard was a boy who looked 7-8 years old. He had no shirt on as he moved his body in a flowing manner. Each step of his was precise and seemed down to a science as he continued to move about.

His body was a slight shade of red as perspiration rained down his forehead. His hair was cut short and tied up at the back, so that none would get in his face. His body was well defined and showed his muscles off to the world as he moved about.

They weren't bulging muscles but more refined and fitting to his small frame.

After continuing on for a few minutes his body finally stopped and he let out a breath of air. Even though it was a hot day you could still see the air that was coming out from his mouth, it had a small ting of black mixed in with it.

"Jin"

A woman's voice sounded out from an adjoining door and Mother Wei's figure could be seen.

Yes the figure in the courtyard was Wei Jin. It had been around 2 years since he started cultivating and what he was doing right then was a body cultivation art. They were moves that worked certain if not all the muscles in one's body and refined them.

The kid may have looked 8 years old, but it was actually Wei Jin when he was only just about to turn 6 years old. The body refining techniques that were employed throughout the continent and most probably the whole world would strengthen the muscles, bones, and even the organs of a person. Through this the person's body would also grow to look older than it actually was.

They would reach the peak of physical fitness and look like an adult sometimes when they were only 14-15 years old. Some of the higher tear arts could even help with strengthening the meridians. Such techniques were hard to come by and had strict conditions to actually use.

What Wei Jin was using wasn't one of those techniques but it was close.

Other than the tier of the cultivation technique, innate talent was also a factor. Because kids would find it near impossible to cultivate Qi before the ages of 8, unless they had a special constitution, they would instead focus all their effort into body refinement.

The Faster a kid could build their foundation the better. Once it was at the peak they would be able to re-enforce their body's foundation, and make it easier for them to condense Qi.

This was the only other method than having a super tier body cultivation technique that would influence a person's meridians. That was why it was so important how fast a kid could body refine themselves.

It would be so important that most of their time after the age of 4 would be spent on this.

Though too much cultivation of their bodies could lead it to break down, the better techniques had the best effects for the least amount of damage or fatigue.

Being a child of an elder in the Wei clan Wei Jin had access to a good technique that he could practice for hours on end. This did not mean he would be skipping out on reading lessons and general knowledge. This would be important information when he had to leave the clan and was mandatory.

It was also mandatory that he attend a class that everyone between the ages of 4 and 8 would take. It was a standardized training regime that would teach them the use of their bodies, fists and weapons of their choosing.

His Father being the trainer for the sword, Wei Jin had instantly become a student in it's ways before anything else and was also training his body there. Because it was so important to build a good body foundation it would be encouraged for kids to also do their own self training which is what Wei Jin was doing.

There had been kids in the past that didn't do this and had been comparatively weaker compared to their peers later down the track, and their own laziness had led to them not being able to cultivate to the foundation realm, not even breaking into the late Qi condensation realm.

Wei Jin mother had called him to come inside to eat and after training for the last 2 hours he had grown very hungry. The reason kids between the age of 3-4 would be fed high quality food was too increase the effects of cultivation when they started. This was also carried on while they were going through the body cultivation realm and was a huge expenditure to the clan.

When they would get older they would be sent out to hunt for spirit beast outside the city to help the next generation and the clan to keep huge stocks of such meat.

Some kids might find the cultivation boring or too tedious to do for hours on end but not Wei Jin, he had a motivation that kept him going.

After finishing his tea, going through the day training with those the same age as him and then doing more training into the night he would go back to his room and move to the talisman he kept in a drawer besides his bed.

This was the talisman the Feng Rou had given to him 2 years ago. Feng Rou had also started cultivating by this point and they didn't have much time that they could meet up down at their pond, they would try to get a day off every week to meet up and have an adventure in town.

The reason Wei Jin was putting his all into cultivation was because Feng Rou was a genius at it. This was no exaggeration either, Feng Rou parents had commented how fast she was going in the body refinement realm and praised her nonstop.

Wei Jin didn't seem to have too bad a talent but compared to Feng Rou it was worlds apart, he had heard his parents saying he was pretty good. But it wasn't the over praise and adoration that Feng Rou was getting.

When he had first heard about it, he had been slightly jealous that his own parents weren't like that with him, but soon got over it. He had not believed it for a while, but one time that he and Feng Rou had met up they had a little competition in strength and he only just beat her.

This was just after she had started and he had a full 8 months on her. It was a real eye opener and instead of being jealous of her because she was so great, he instead felt happy for her. It was a great thing to have such talent. He had praised her about it afterwards and she had given him a huge smile wanting more praise.

He had indulged her and complemented her for a good 30 minutes before she felt satisfied. He wasn't sure if that was a good thing as after that she became really focused on cultivating properly and fast, which made him sweat. She had said this before they parted that day.

"Next time I won't lose."
