Chapter 17:The Birthday Celebration (2)

A/N: Fixed some things on the previous chapters, and I'll fix more when I found them, My memory sucks..XD

A cheery atmosphere was in the air, as everyone sung the birthday song while everyone was looking at the birthday girl, smiling for this happy occasion.

And despite being a middle aged woman in her late 40's Kyouko was genuinely happy with this rather simple(not) birthday party.

so she thanked the family in her heart admist their voices, urging her to make a wish before blowing the candle.

she once more looked around at her family, her mother and father, her husband, daughter, her sister, her niece and nephew as well as their family friends who attended,

she was happy for sure, but when she looked around more and found that her younger sister and her husband, the parents of her nephew not being here, made her sad which led her to shed a single tear, so she closed her eyes and made her wished.

A second later, she opened it before blowing out the candles of the cake in front of her.

Everyone cheered seeing ger blow the candles, with all but a few noticing her shedding a tear, which were of course her family members.

Still, they didn't let the sad memory affect this happy occasion so they cheered along with the rest.

what happened next is the birthday girl cutting her cake, which was followed by the start of the celebration.

everyone ate until they had their fill, with all the guests being surprised at the fruits that were served, as it was the most delicious fruit they had ever tasted.

All of them chatted about anything, be it the fruits, their business, experience, anything that they can think about untill everyone finished eating, and what comes next is of course the gifting ceremony!

The guests, and of course each of the family members also brought her gifts.

the close friends came first, presenting her with things like mugs, glasses, clothes, and others, Kyouko of course happily accepted anything even if it were just simple things, as she doesn't really need anything being a successful businesswoman herself.

Then comes the family members, each carrying a box of various sizes.

The parents came first with Grandma tokie, giving her a hand knitted scarf and hand gloves, which of course Kyouko happily recieved, and promised to cherish it like all the knitted gifts she had given before.

then comes her father, Grandpa Hiroshi, He gave her a simple but intricately made wood carving of a Capybara, of course he also made it himself, as carving has always been his hobby before and after retirement.

Ryouko also promised to cherish his gift like the ones grandma tokie gave before she hugged the two, before they asked for a picture to be taken, which Zeke happily complied since he has the perfect phone for taking pictures.

After her parents came her husband and daughter, her husband Nate gave her a small gift, which upon opening revealed the blue box hudden underneath which upon lifting the cover revealed a beautiful silver bracelet which was designed beautifully.

kyouko smiled and thanked her husband happily just like how he thanked her parents before she looked towards her fully grown daughter which happily gave her another box which upon opening revealed a pair of earrings, similarly designed to the bracelet her husband has given her.

Kyouko smiled sweetly before she hugged  two of her most important person in the world.

And of course Zeke didn't need to be said, took several photos of their interactions happily.

after the Father and daughter were done with their gifts, the Youngest Sister and her daughter and husband came next.

The three greeted her happy birthday just like all the gift givers before presenting her with their gifts.

Arisu being the first one giving hers, which turned out to be a hand-made drawing that she had made with the words happy birthday.

and seeing it, Kyouko awed, before she picked up Arisu and hugged her, saying her thanks to her niece.

then comes Kyouko's youngest sister and her husband's gift, Hirohito gave her a traditional Japanese painting, while Yuuko, her sister gave her a Custom made dress made by a famous designer.

Once again, Zeke was happily taking their pictures and once it was his turn, Zeke handed out his phone to Ryuuko before he picked up his Gift Box containing the Incubator and the Pokemon Egg.

After reaching towards his aunt Zeke handed her the box before saying Happy birthday with a smile.

Kyouko of course thanked her niece, before she opened the box.

Once she did, what she saw confused her as it was most certainly not what she expected as a gift.

"An egg?" she asked Zeke confused with the Big egg thats inside some kind of a container.

Seeing her confusion Zeke confirmed that, it was indeed an egg, and hearing his reply, Kyouko asked confusedly.

"Why?"

Zeke's response to her question is a simple

"I'll explain later" before giving her a mysterious smile.

"Okay then! You better explain yourself after this mr!"

"Of course!"

After saying his reply, Zeke once again greeted her a happy birthday before he hugged her, of course Kyouko's reaction with Zeke's gift made the others confused, but as she didn't take it out they had no idea what it was and just ignored it for now.

Zeke came back and retrieved his rotom-phone back from Ryuuko, which asked him whats up with the gift he had given her mom.

Zeke gave her the same reply that he gave her mom before he took a Leppa berry in the fruit basket he placed in the table and took a bite.

And seeing that Ryuuko remembered something that she wanted to ask.

"That! Please tell me where you got these fruits!" Ryuuki pleaded in a coquettish voice, and even going as far as showing him puppy eyes.

Zeke, seeing his cousin's act burst out laughing as he looked at her and said

"Stop that! it doesn't suit you at all

BWAHAHAA!"

and seeing how he acted Ryuuko was pissed. she clinched her fist trying hard not to hit him before she finally relaxed after Zeke told him to, in exchange for the info.

"Just as I told you before, I got this from a friend, he grows a lot of stuff, not just these,

I can go and ask him to contanct you though, if you want to make a deal with him, and before you wanna ask,

I cant disclose his identity, heck I cant give his number wantonly even to you guys, I can only give him your number and you can only wish for him to contact you"

Ryuuko was intrigued by what Zeke said, and asked "Hoh? If I may ask, how did you meet this friend of yours?"

Zeke of course didn't mind telling her, as at the end of the day what hes telling is just false information, so he answered with:

"I met him from a group chat that I am part in, it was one of those group chat that I was into before where we basically just exchange some interesting stuff, stories and items

Funny thing really, it was completely unexpected when he suddenly advertised those fruits of his, saying its an experiment,

most Except me didn't believe him when he sent a blue orange, but I was intrigued and ordered some, and you know the rest"

Anyways, the group become inactive after a while and became dead, but the two of us stayed in touch, of course I wasn't the only one who bought those, I dont know who the others though..

still, these fruits are very rare, and I only got these basket full of them after I begged him a lot and... promised him to do anything he want, of course only within the boundaries"

Before Zeke could continue talking he was stopped by none other than his cousin who looked at him strangely.

"Stop! Okay! I believe you! Geez, Just give him my number and say some good things alright? I want to get Enough of these blue orange to last for a month, tell him it will be a long term transaction if he wants."

"Alright! wait for the good news then!"Zeke replied before taking one more bite from the Leppa berry, which Ryuuko mimicked by taking an oran berry from the basket before peeling, and eating the meat one by one.

Hours has passed and not before long, the party has ended in 6pm, and now Zeke and his family are now sitting in the living room with the Egg and Incubator sitting in the table.

Zeke was standing up facing the rest of the family, before he coughed and started talking.

"Cough, so! I'll be explaining what this egg is and why did I gave it to aunt kyouko."

"First of all, what this egg is, my answer to that, is...I have no idea"

""Ehhh?!"" The family, sans Arisu as she was asleep already in her room exclaimed.

"Wait! let me continue, Just as I said, I dont know what this egg is, but I am most certainly sure that its the same as my buddy here"

After saying that, Zeke raised the still hedgehog Ditto who, after sleeping the whole afternoon was wide awake this night.

"Your Hedgehog?" Aunt kyouko asked confusedly.

"Mhm! He might not look like much, but my hedgehog is a special one, see here!  Buddy! Stand up! and salute!"

Hearing Zekes command Ditto did what was asked, he stood up only leaving two of his legs to support him before he saluted, well he tried, but because of his tiny arms he couldn't properly salute, which looked cute as he struggles to salute.

of course, seeing a hedgehog trying to salute made a pretty cute display so all of them awed, even his grandfather Hiroshi smiled at Ditto gently.

Zeke smiled as well, seeing their reaction before he continues " as you see, he is very smart, but that's not the most significant thing that this little guy can do."

"Bud! lets! HENSHIN!"

Hearing zekes words once again, Ditto nodded before it did a backflip and landed as a completely different animal, which is a cat, a callico one.

"Meow"

"Tada!!"

"""....."""

The room turned quiet as all of them was flabbergasted, heck the two elderly would have had a heart attack if not for Gabriel making them eat all the berries before which basically cured all their ailments, hidden or not.

the first one that got out of her stupor is the youngest Ryuuko who exclaimed.

"No way?! Did I just see a hedgehog turn into a cat?!?"

Her words also woke the rest from their stunned state one by one as each had their own reaction.

of course they were all surprised just as Ryuuko.

His Uncle Nate even took out his handkerchief before he wiped off his sweat that was on his face.

Zeke seeing their reaction was proud, as the plan he and Ditto talked upon before this worked.

"Yes! you guys aren't seeing things, my buddy here can transform into different kinds of animals! Be it Avians,Mamals, Aphimpians, and more!"

"Now! any of you have questions?" Zeke asked with a smile.

Ryuuko, being the most energetic and of course curious of them all raised her hands before asking. "What is he?!"

Zeke shrugged after hearing her question and said " I have no idea but the one who sold me the egg said that its a Ditto a Pokemon."

afterwards, it was his unlce Hirohito who raised his hand and asked "Is he a danger for us?"

"As you can see, he is pretty relaxed, and he wont hurt anyone as long as he isn't provoked or hurt first" Zeke replied.

Hirohito nodded before settling down once more, before his Uncle Nate raised his hand in return and asked. "Where did you get him?"

Zeke answered with "Well get right into that after all your questions are asked"

Nate nodded before settling down as well, then, this time his Aunt Yuuko raised her hand before asking

"How old is this little guy?"

"He's pretty young, he only hatched Yesterday" Zeke replied.

His Aunt was confused with his answer"Hatched? Yesterday?"

so he clarified, "Yes, he hatched from the egg I got yesterday, and as you might have seen, he's pretty smart even though hes so young, but I have no idea how that is so, so lets not delve much into it"

Afterwards his grandmother asked what is a Pokemon , of which he answers with a short and precise"Basically they are animals that have abilities and can evolve, the shop keeper said"

Then came his grandfather asking what the Abilities are.

"Abilities or as the Shop Keeper said "Moves" are a set of skills that they can use, like how Ditto here can transform, this is its innate ability and the other kind, which is the acquired abilities aka Moves are these,"

"Ditto! use tackle on that chair!" Zeke comanded.

and hearing this, Ditto gathered Neutral or Normal energy in his entire body before he dashed towards the empty chair with his four feet before tackling it, which ended up breaking the chair into multiple pieces.

"As you can see, this is a Pokemon Move, called tackle, which is one of the weakest moves a Pokemon can do, thats what the shop owner said anyways"

"Sorry about the chair, but is there anything else?"

At this time, the others were once again stunned at what this seemingly shape shifting cat can do.

they dont even mind the chair as it can be replaced, but seeing a callico cat destroying it with a hit made them more stunned.

"Cough! ,So no questions?" Zeke asked one more time which once again woke the rest from their stunned state.

Still, they didn't ask anything for a while, as each of them has their own thoughts after seeing what the seemingly 2 days old Ditto could do.

This time, it was his uncle Nate that raised his hands first and asked "You said that its the weakest move, did this shop keeper said anything about what the potential maximum damage they can cause?"

"Good question! When I asked the Shop keeper the same question, he said that it depends on the Pokemon's training, because the stronger they are, the greater the damage they can cause!

He said that if they're strong enough their moves can even affect the whole city of tokyo and even the whole country! Still he also said that reaching that stage will be pretty hard and nearly impossible if the pokemon isn't trained well"

At this time, the family's backside has been covered by sweat after hearing the potential damage this tiny little thing can cause if trained well.

"You said that it's not dangerous! whats with this city destroying thing you mentioned?!?" at this time Hirohito raised his hand and exclaimed his concerns.

"Alright let me explain once more in the shop keepers word, The power depends on the strength that the pokemon receives, so not all can have that power, and besides!

Pokemon also isnt limited on causing destruction, some pokemon can create and even heal people! Imagine if theres a natural or man made Disaster that causes a lot of casualties or injuries, just a use of the special pokemon moves can heal them! potentially saving a lot more people!.. thats what the shop keeper said at least"

Someone once again raised their hands, this time its Ryuuko who's already pretty excited after hearing what hes talking, so she asked " You mentioned Shop Keeper multiple times, does that mean these guys will be sold to public?"

Hearing his cousin's question, Zeke smiled before saying "Yes! the shop keeper said that he's planning on selling these guys in the public and even release some in nature all around the world! and I was the lucky one who could buy two of these eggs first! and Im telling you guys now so out family doesn't get left behind and even possibly grow towards new heights!"

"But most importantly! I want all of us, sans Arisu since shes to young to have at least one to keep us all safe all the time! because this its not just me who thinks that the world will have a big change now right? even some of you all thinks the same!"

The family clapped after hearing his speech, and Zeke thanks them bashfully before asking if theres anymore question.

This time, its his grandfather who asked solemnly "When will this shop open?"

Zeke smiled before saying "well..."

Minutes later....

After Zeke was done explaining things to his family, the family agreed to support him, or rather the "shop keeper" as to build a stong friendship towards this person, so they asked Zeke that once the shop opens he guides them towards the Shop keeper, which of course troubled him as the shop keeper was none other than him, but then he saw the cat Ditto who is grooming Himself using his tongue and a light bulb grew in his head.

Zeke agreed with the proposal, and after the family once again settled down, his Aunt Kyouko asked him something, while carrying the Incubator.

"So, Zeke since you got me this egg, do you know when this little guy will hatch?"

"Well...It will hatch in 3"Zeke said.

"3 weeks?, Months?"Her aunt asked confusedly

Zeke just smiled and didn't reply before saying "2....1...and!"

His aunt couldn't even express her surprise before the Egg inside the incubator made a cracking sound which was heard by everyone and in turn, made everyone quiet as they looked towards the egg, even Ditto turned towards the egg and looked at it intensely as if awaiting the birth of his new sibling or friend.

"Quick! Get the egg outside the Incubator!" Zeke hurriedly said before he pushed the unlock button which released the egg from the glasses, before his aunt reached towards it and carried it in her palms.

Then, the egg glowed Yellow slowly but surely untill the light covered the egg entirely, before a crack was heard once more, followed by its visible appearance on the egg which sprrad throughout it until, the egg shattered, revealing what was inside.
