Chapter Three

Unfortunately for Thor, he didn't get to meet Mason that day due to us having to leave as soon as the game ended because Connor had to be back for his girlfriend's dinner and I couldn't wait to sleep.

It's been a few weeks since the game and I've actually stayed in contact with Jasmine, just so I can catch up on summer and see how she's doing, Jas said that she wouldn't stop talking to everyone about how cool I was and that I was really pretty, she said that Mason was getting jealous that he was being replaced by a girl she just met. I can have that effect.

"So any luck with jobs?" Jas asked as we decided to meet up over a coffee and just have a girl's day out away from summer and the football boys.

"Well I haven't gotten anything at the moment, Thor has picked up extra shifts and seen as it's my mum's place she's been trying to help out too," I said as she nodded and took a sip of her coffee, "That's a bummer I wish I could help! I do have one favour to ask," she said with a sly kinda tone to her voice, I looked up from my coffee and readjusted myself from the slouch I had become on the chair.

That tone can only mean one thing, it's the tone that is known for the "I'm about to ask you to do something for me that's very out of the ordinary", I was always using the look and tone on Thor, I know it too well.

"What is it? Jas don't get me doing something weird please" I begged as she laughed and rolled her eyes, "don't be silly! I would never, however, Ben and I are planning on going away and well we need someone to look after Summer who can have her undivided attention," she asked as I let out a sigh of relief and chucked "that wasn't worth the tone you used" she smiled "we will be gone for two weeks so need you to move in for two weeks while we are away, we would ask someone else but both parents are busy and I'm not leaving her in Mason's presence as he's got footie a lot" she added as I nodded now knowing why she used the tone.

"2 weeks! In Mason Mount's sister's house! Are you insane! We need the money and he is literally an icon" Thor paused the TV and was fully facing me when I announced I was moving out for two weeks, I had literally wasted no time when I entered the house in letting him know the news.

"Don't go all weird about it, it's a big job I only was a nanny for a year and I didn't move in anywhere because they were family, this is a whole different league" I said as he rolled his eyes and crossed his arms.

"Get outta your head, it's a job that we need for this place, I'm working my arse off now it's your turn to get back on track! Get your arse up those stairs and start packing!" He said as I shot my hands up in defence and smiled as he shot from the sofa to follow me up.

I don't even know how this happened how do you look after a 5-year-old? Never In my 23 years alive did I even remotely think about having children myself, unless you count the 23 baby names I have written in my notes on my phone as that, I don't think I'm gonna have those motherly instincts or even wanna hold my child when it pops out, I can't imagine it. But looking after someone else's is a different playing field. A whole different sport.

I forgot to mention one minor detail that was with the agreement Jas and I spoke about, seeing as I didn't drive Mason was going to be on stand-by when he could and I have his official schedule which meant I knew where he was when he was working, he was also going to be picking me up from the house as requested by Jas, so I get to meet the man behind the legend as Thor would say.

I wanted to let Thor know but as the time was coming closer to getting picked up I was less confident in doing so, I mean this man is literally going to either rip my head off or faint, I would rather B than A but you never know.

Jas said Mason was going to pick me up around about 10 pm so that we could meet up and discuss the next two weeks as Jas and Ben had already left, and seen as Summer was spending one night with her grandparents it would give me time to settle in before she came back to just me.

A sharp knock at the door pierced through the house as I dragged my suitcase down the stairs, in my attempt to create bad timing because not only now was Thor shouting that he would get it but I could now hear the door open as I reached the bottom step.

When I got to the front door there was Mason himself with a smile and still holding Thor's hand and Thor just stared at him wide-eyed gobsmacked.

I rolled my suitcase up to them and smiled "you must Mason" I said breaking away Thor's hand from Mason and proceeding to move him to the side in which Mason then grabbed my suitcase, he nodded and extended his hand out to me "you must be Staffie, the one that's replaced me in the hierarchy" he chuckled at the end and I nodded and shrugged "can't say I'm surprised I have that effect" he raised his eyebrows and nodded as If he was impressed.

"Well we better get going Jas left some ground rules and we can go over what plans work and what doesn't" he added as Thor hadn't said a word, I don't even think this man blinked, I turned back to Thor and gave him a quick hug, which was met with him wrapping his arms around me and whispering profanity that I shall not be repeating.

I gave him a quick smile and that was that, Mason loaded my suitcase in his car, which was a nice car I guess, I'm more of a Mercedes kinda gal but a Porsche is nice if you have the money...which as stated before I don't.

"Like the car?" Mason asked as he stood behind me, I must have been frozen to my spot staring, I nodded and then shrugged "If I were rich probably" I added as he chucked and we walked to the passenger side, I looked back at him following me "trust me I can open doors by myself" I said a little harsher then I intended it to come out as, he nodded and walked back to his side of the car.

The ride was a mixture of quiet spells and talking spells, Thor was the one that knew a lot about him and not myself so getting to know him was all I could do.

"So your boyfriend seems nice, he seems to be super protective though" Mason broke the silence in the car, I snapped my head towards him and let out a laugh "omg! Thor isn't my man, his track record makes me wanna throw up, he's just my housemate we are best friends, and he's a fan of you so pulled me into the tightest hug to call me all the rude names under the sun" I said as he nodded and flicked his eyes between me and the road.

"A boyfriend is supposed to be protective though so wouldn't be a bad thing, Thor just isn't it" I added as he nodded and we fell back into silence again.

"So what made Summer enjoy your company more than mine then huh?" Mason once again opened his once-closed mouth and proceeded to interrogate. Are we there yet?

"Um, I don't know I have a vagina and you don't? I'm not working all the time you are? I looked cool" I stated as he nodded sarcastically and rolled his eyes " okay got me at the woman part but she hasn't stopped talking about you, you were her first choice when she heard Jas was going away, I felt abandoned" I laughed as he smiled ahead at the road and what looked like started to slow down onto a private road.
