If this were Sherlock Holmes, he'd probably already know the height of the killer, their gender, whether they're right or left-handed, what shoe they wore, the actual time of death, so on and so forth. (if it was the wife and she had an alibi, then I suspect that the time of death has been tampered with) XD

Hmmm the wife is definitely suspicious even the evidence is pointing at her the problem is she had an alibi,if so she probably hired or asked someone to do it for her,since she is poorless and does not have anything to give it has to be someone that will get something by killing the husband,probably satisfaction? from revenge or by simply killing someone ? ahhh idk anymore wish our detective to hurry up and solve it fast..

there's definitely something fishy about the second husband. he didn't seem very good-natured and he must have courted her since she was depressed and self-destructive (suicidal) at the time. but then again, it's very hard to be not irritated with the police and feeling their investigation is harassment when you didnt like the victim very much

her depression after the death of her husband is abnormal

I guess its an animal e.g (grizzly bear) who went inside the victim's house during the storm that killed him. He's too drunk that he wasnt able to win the fight. He tried not to make a noise because theres a thought that when you encounter bears, its either you run or you play dead.
