This bai dude has greater plot armor than our hero. To let him live author forgot about stamina. ... primoveal essence..... injury.... everything. Fang yan was so much of an idiot to think that he would kill him. he chased him thinking only a shot is needed. He was so much stupid...... if bai reveal any one of his card he could kill hero. but no he too was dumb and ran like coward.
So he actually died... And here I thought he was going to be a long-lived character even if he was never going to be part of the main cast since the translator liked him so much. I didn't like him much though, stupidly foolish, sure, he's a pretty good guy and has a strong sense of morals and justice, but I don't think those are good qualities, at least not when it gets to that extreme level. He's a mere slave.
