Personally I don't like this chapter at all, Kyochi was a rather cold and very combative avatar, who did not hesitate to kill, she lived in a period of conflict like the one Thorian is experiencing so intervening in this way is very unlikely . (Roku or Yangchen would have a better alternative).

I disagree, I put Yangchen in a special case in that she does it reluctantly and she would certainly have no pity for Zhao, the Fire Lord and the generals who follow him, but she would let the soldiers. (If she had the same choice as Aang, namely to take away his mastery, she would have done it.)
