you could have him make his shoes into catalysts. It probably wouldn't allow for much control, but an earth-control catalyst would allow him to spear someone with a tap of his foot, and an air one would let him jump higher and run faster, or maybe even double jump, kind of like having jet shoes.

man I don't know what it is, but there's something lacking in this fic that makes me want read it. I know it's good, and got a interesting n fresh vibe, but it lacks the thing that'll drag me in and sacrifice my sleep.
