I liked the story but if Hermione read as much about the magical world as is shown, she would hardly know about wizarding heritage and the power that the title Boy Who Lived brings and knowing this makes a lot of sense for Hermione to become so attached to Harry with the influence of being one of his best friends would open many doors in the future, after all, Harry is very naive about the power that his name brings, and this is shown throughout the story, Wesley won box seats in the Quidditch final, Hermione had a lot of time for studying and I very much doubt that she won because of her potential, it makes more sense that she won because of being one of Harry's best friends and the canon ending shows that Hermione and the Wesleys gained a lot by being associated with Harry, in fact who is the loser? was Harry as an unwitting poster boy for the end of the power of the wizarding families and their sigilarity from the Muggle world, with one Muggle-born best friend and another coming from a family that despises wizarding heritage and culture he probably lost a lot of political support, which makes It makes a lot of sense with the difficulties he went through because even if the wizards in power were against Voldemort they wouldn't support someone who supposedly despises wizarding heritage and culture, because if the majority of pure-blood wizards actually supported Voldemort his death wouldn't have would have made a difference since they would have dominated the ministry anyway having most of the positions of power so Voldemort's death would actually be a positive thing for those who truly believe in the cause since without the irrational mad dog they could rule with ease, which Fear of their culture being replaced by that of Muggles, their sigolarity erases, at least that's what I imagine if there were a more complex explanation about wizarding politics in the canon.
