It would've been great if ellie is the child of Sarah and Bruce. And they did not get united with Joel until the moment of the last of us game started. Alternatively they could also start the last of us by tracking down ellie that got separated from them and consiquently they found Joel with ellie??? I can tell the writer either doesn't know anything about Texas or has never spent time here. basements are practically nonexistent here. Reason being is we only have about a foot of topsoil and after that it's pure rocks. so we build mostly out, sometimes up.
