Ugh isn't he like way too cordial with them. IDK if author remembers but i asked you about this when you first started writing and you swore up and down that this wouldn't happen and that you would never have him forgiving them and now he seems to be cordial with them. I honestly don't get why he's being so nice but I'm already this far in to the novel iIfeel like I should see it to the end.
Being mature doesn't mean allowing people to step all over you with a smile on your face. Obsessing over revenge is bad, but allowing people to think that they can treat you like trash to the point where you almost died isn't mature, it's pushover weakling behavior. Especially for someone who is set to be the lord of his house. I guess I'm just upset because he has no ruthlesness, no sharp edge to him. It's like he doesn't attribute any value to the torture he suffered and the betrayal of his family. People aren't like that, at least unbroken ones who are mentally whole. Unlike what schools and pop culture will say, revenge isn't evil, nor will it turn you into a bad guy. It's necessary for one's mental wellbeing to fight back against those who wronged them, lest they become a weakling who let others use them as a doormat.
King_Gluttony:I attribute him being polite to three factors: reincarnation, occlumency, and reputation. Reincarnation: He is more mature than his age as he has far more life experience, meaning he knows how to handle himself. Occlumency: He has far more control over his mental and emotional state. Reputation: He doesn't want to make a scene and give people interest or the opportunity to find out why they are estranged as it will reflect on the Potter family, to which he is the heir and isn't in a position to do damage control.
