Poor Mal, what an awful thing to have to witness at such a young age. Adding that to the rumors of being cursed and being pursued by an arrogant blockhead, her family is lucky she's as well adjusted as she is. I can't tell if Lady Doris is being intentionally ignorant or willfully obtuse. At least Mallory has her uncle on her side. And Colette seems to have the emotional awareness of a block of cheese.
