I would say taking over lys would be pretty safe bet. After all, it's relatively small. But at the same time, if MC doesn't have sufficient power it can be taken away. And if he slowly starts to dismantle slavery he wouldn't have problems with Daenerys either. He can't really develop properly if he doesn't have enough land and people. Overall, he's already in very small territory, and unless he can fully develop it as he wishes, it can be taken over or internal issues could pop up.
